Interesting idea! A bit of polish can make this game really fun. I had problem with sounds as music was playing two different songs at the same time and pretty lound :(

Great game. I couldn't find a way to get that gem on last level :D

It's like bullet hell but with pen, penhell I guess :D

Idk how you did but good job! :D I laughed when heard all of this sounds.

Thanks for playing and commenting. I will take it into account and will make tutorial more clear!

Awesome cuscene :D It hooked me up! Spend some time sorting things up on this ship after all! Great game

Interesting idea of 3D platformer with pen :D Never seen anything like that!

Great start! I noticed that Restart button does not actually removing what you already draw. Keep doing games!

Fun game to play! I like this simple art style :D Please and "reset" button.  I stack on one of the levels :(

Great job! I didn't play pinball long time :D Thank you!

Simple and fun!

It was really enjoyable experience. Feel's like full game with it's own mechanics, I didn't encouter any bugs and just had fun playing it. Thank you for such experience!

Ahahaha, it took me so many paper sheets to realize that I can draw multiple sheets in one level :D

For first I tried to draw "path" or something, but did realize I can change the gravity when ball already start moving.

Great entry by the way!

Good job. Ofcource it is no the best game I've ever played, but for the limited time we have you did great!

I don't know if it is intentionall but I think I can ran out of Moon :D

Thanks! I really appreciate it

If at least one person is interested, then I'll definitely do it! :D

I plan to make a YouTube devlog for this game, along with a tutorial where I'll go through all the steps of how I implemented the mechanics. It'll take some time to make sure the tutorial is clean and clear, and I'll include the GitHub source code as well.

You can follow me or add this game to your collection - I expect to post devlog here in about a week or so.

Or let me know if there's another way I can share it with you :D

Wow, that's a really good review!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write it - it's honestly the most detailed and helpful feedback I've ever received on one of my games :D

Audio: yea, I was fully focused on mechanics, so I didn't have time to think about audio and UI(menu), etc. I'll defenetly add those in future updates after the jam.

Closing the circle: actually, I've already working on improving that after another comment mentioned it. I just don't want to release the new version before the voting period ends.

Art: good catch - point taken! I can defenetly do better here.

Replay: another great point. How did I not think about that? :D

Stats: I've already have a lot of ideas related to this. For example, have STARS to collect in levels, or tracking how long the ball takes to reach the bin (shorted = better). Spent ink another one as well. Just need to play around with all of the variation and find most satisfying.

I really considering turning this into a full game with workshop where players can create and vote on their own levels!

Thanks again for such an amazing review!

Great question! :D

My background is 10 years in enterprice programming, and I recently started learning game dev as a hobby. Before this, I had only played around with platforming mechanics. Without that background, it probably would've been imposssible for me to make it in just 2 days.

When the theme and object were revealed for the jam, I came up with this idea and decided to experiment with it. It was an iterative process with lots of trial and error. I spent around 2 days just working on the main machanic and 1 day on everything else :D. At first, it was much buggier, but step by step I fixed the issues and made it smoother to draw.

By the way, I already have a better version of drawing mechanic, but I don't want to update it until the voting period ends.

If you found it interesting, I might make a dev vlog or something with more technical details about how it works, since I couldn't find anything like that online. Anyway, I plan to keep working on it and see if people enjoy it.

Thanks for the comment and for playing!

Really interesting interpretation of the theme! I like how you used tweens here! :D I'm not really into visual novels, so I kind of missed some elements that could ''dilute'the gameplay a bit. From a gameplay perspective, it felt a bit like a 'keyboard piano' :D

Anyway, great work on both the technical side and the theme interpretation!

I like the progression you impemented, like blocks which you need to break, asteroids? that destroyed pen. Thanks for the game!

I can't find prices for the upgrades, please add it!

Great entry!

Great game. But a bit hard for me :D I see this game more like puzzle/platformer then runner.

I always try to guess/see it in game and only then look description :D

Thanks bro!

Thanks for playing! Great that you did it to the end!

No not really. IT IS HARD or I don't understand how to do it :D I will try more later.

Thanks! Yes, I have a lot of ideas which I want to implement!

Great game! Please add restart button (for example R). I'm tired waiting when I already know it is failed try.

After finishing game I have a question. Why I have so many pens in the space? :D

Ahaha -"Sorry not here"! You tricket me! I check all tree ways before realizing path :D

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I actually have plans to turn it into a full game. Follow if you’re interested in seeing the final version :D

Finished! I’m done. That means either you made a great game, or it was too short :D

I was struggling a bit with understanding the gravity, but I managed to overcome it!

Thanks! I tried to make some of the level a bit harder ;)

Great entry! Found it a bit hard but I'm trying my best :D

Fun, for first I took stamp or pen every time but then realized that I can just move document!

(1 edit)

Awesome! But be aware, there is traps everywhere!

First 1 minute I couldn't pass first wall because I didn't know this game has double jump, wall jump mechanics! I guess it make sense to hint it somehow.

Everything else is beautiful!

PLEASE add speed increase!

Fun variation of TD

My reaction on first level was like

"Why do I need check points here" 2 seconds later -> "Aahhh that's why"

Great work!

OMG my head! THIS IS MADNESS I CANT ESCAPE!!11

Really great implemented!

I PASS! A+. Beautiful, fun to play!
