I'm thinking of adding an element using ChatGPT - this wouldn't be used to replace writing but only very minimally to allow players to choose what they say to characters. Would this be allowed in the rules? It isn't using generative AI to replace handwritten dialogue, but just using it to allow an experience that wouldn't be otherwise possible.
Put another way - 99% of the game is handwritten, and the only 1% by AI is to enable greater player agency with their dialogue responses.
Hi, me and two friends just finished polishing our game for last week's Weekly Game Jam! The theme was Bullet Trains, and we decided to make a short narrative about a train obsessed boy's entire life, from birth until old age.
There are several branching paths and each choice will greatly affect the next several decades of his life. We were interested in telling a story where the narrative choices had extremely long term consequences and will likely be playing with this sort of thing more in the future. But it will maybe not always be so cute.
It's best with sound on. We're really proud of the soundtrack. And feedback would be much appreciated! We're all just starting out.
Thanks for playing!
