Thanks so much dude! Being compared to hollow knight is a hugeee compliment haha, super glad you enjoyed!
Cheers boss!
that low-mid tone that hums sounds like my air fryer, haha, Overall, really well done track! I love all the textures and melodic elements you've added in, not my kind of thing to listen to, But I really appreciate what you've done here, maybe that humming frequency could be turned down a bit volume wise, or maybe it's just me, probably is just me, it just kinda sounds like my air fryer and it's distracting to me ;[];
Really, really rich soundscapes you got here, I love all the textures and variety you got for the ambience, really threads it all together well. I'd say the fourth track is my favourite of the bunch because I felt it progressed a bit more musically than the others and had a bit more to it.
This track, I'd say, works perfectly for some kind of game OST. The first three tracks really sound to me like just plain ambient background music for different areas/scenes; they each had a different feel: enchanting/mystique, the uncovering of something, very tense/sinister. And I think that this track, overall conveys a story very well, and immerses you into the space that you've crafted musically. (I will note I think you crossed over the max runtime a smidge, but it's fine)
Really enjoyed listening to this track! Great work!
very, very lonely, first scene really sounds like wandering around alone, in like an abandoned building of some kind, which I'd say is pretty accurate to the first scene haha, second scene, very alien, decrepit, tense, it sounds kind of like I'm reaching out for something I don't understand, but I can't quite reach it.
I wouldn't say the mixing is the most pleasing, not that it hurts to listen to, but just that the space isn't very filled out, and the track feels a bit cramped, but to be honest, throughout listening to the whole thing, I was wondering if that was actually intentional or not? In fact, it's because the piano sounds so distant, and muffled, that I saw a person in the second scene being UNABLE to reach something! And to be honest, I'd say- in a weird way, the mixing works? because the piano itself sounds alone, and kinda uncomfortable? not sure, maybe I'm... reaching! GET IT!?!? -- I apologize
Overall, I love the track! It sounds super charming to me! Well done! :D
How on earth, have you made something this PROFOUND, this MASSIVE, this BEAUTIFUL, and the mix is still so clear!!!!!! the actual instrumentation is so well done too, not a single note that plays that doesn't sound blissful.
and that deep fatt BASS is the most immaculate shit i've ever heard in my life mate, this track goes so hard dude, really take you into another world where you might maybe not want to be to be honest-
overall fantastic job!
Really impactful track! I love those textures your voice has during the drop, this track sounds really “big” if i had to put it into words- i think everyone got the idea of the machine and the spire being of great scale but your track- atleast in my opinion really captures the grandness of the scale of the scene.
I think i’ve said this on the discord at one point but I just loved how you used the dialogue from the original theme video in the beginning of your track, which i think i found to set quite a serious tone from the get-go! Only nitpick i really have is, for the start of the track when it’s just the dialogue and strings, i really think some soft textures could’ve been incorporated, maybe even clothes rustling or light footsteps to help build up to what i’d assume is the “reveal” of the spire and giant machine with it.
Overall a great submission! Awesome work fam! :D
I heard this one before and i think i commented on the video but i’m still gonna say it here, this is really beautiful man! Very tense, very curious, overall a very exciting and nice track to listen to, i think maybe at the end those perc hits might be a bitttt too harsh, but otherwise it sounds great!
I’d say musically you’ve created a really nice coherent scene, which of course- sounds great, but i would’ve maybe liked to hear some more texture or references to the environment via sound, because the musical side conveys more emotion, and conveys the situation the listener is currently in, but not, what the environment is like, or where you are or anything contextual to the scene.
Despite that, this is a really awesome submission man, i really enjoyed listening to this one, thanks so much for sharing! :D
i don’t have the words sorry, wait no nevermind THIS IS KILLER MAN WTF!?!? It’s crazy unique!! I love all the sounds and ideas you implemented into this track, immediately felt placed by the machine- with like- a crazy smart scientist guy who’s giving me a quest like
“hello there new intern, it seems i have dropped my pencil somewhere within the confines of this great machine! And i am afraid i don’t have any to spare, would you perhaps mind… fetching it for me?”
Loving the vibes this track is irradiating, and how steampunk it all sounds, i mean, i don’t really have the words, Wow, just Wow.
If you missed the glazing, i basically said this submission is peak my dude.
What a blessing i have been able to hear this song, WOW.
I LOVE how crunchy the drums, sound design and that BASSy synth are, and speaking of the sound design, I really enjoyed how you incorporated it into the track, both adding ambience to the actual song, and then also when you’d pull away the song for a moment to bring out the soundscape and really immerse the listener in the environment they’re in (oh my glaze).
that glassy piano was a really great compliment to the rest of the track, and so too was that sort of steel pan sounding instrument. The mix also felt like it had a lot of space for you to breathe (in a good way), and this doesn’t effect my rating at all, but those visuals were pretty friggin sweet my dude.
Overall amazing track, good work my man! :D
OOOOOOO that's really interesting!! I definitely want to get my automation game up for sure! In the second scene, I admit I didn't think very "spatially" (or whatever the correct word is), but that's a really good idea! something to add in one of my next submissions for sure! (really upping my focus lately now on the mixing and technical side of music)
And thanks so much for listening! super glad you enjoyed! I had quite a bit of fun with this one! :D
Thanks so much man!! yes it was a cello (plus some other strings at the other parts), it's called solo cello spurs which you can use on Decent Sampler, or kontakt if you have it! https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/solo-cello-spurs/ I also used I think it's called the Lewis Pyle violin or something similar to that??
SICK AS HELL DUDE!!!!
I love those little dings you got in there on the higher frequencies! You can barely hear them, but they add so much texture to the track overall; They're REALLY satisfying. The guitar of course, just goes phenomenally hard, and I don't know if that's a clarinet or what, but it is the most immaculate thing to hear going off. (I think there's like an oboe or some kind of flute in there too, super neat)
Awesome submission dude! super stylish!
Don't have much to say on this track tbh, song is really beautiful and interesting, I like how the machinery sounds with how it is vocalised in the track, and it feels very "curious" and mysterious, if that makes sense. Also, the cover goes HARD my man, wish I could've heard both scenes with how good this first one is haha, awesome work!
I wasn't super convinced at first, but after listening to it in full, I can safely say this submission is fantastic! :D
It felt really powerful and alien, and the overall atmosphere was really well set in my opinion. But the best part for me was that ending you did; I liked the mixing between the ambience and the bass, guitar, and those really cool reversed harmonics you had in there.
Overall, a great submission, good stuff boss :)
I've already heard this a lot on the Discord, so I don't have too much to say, but the vocals, as always, are super beautiful. I think that dialogue at the beginning was really well done and set a nice tone for the whole piece. The mixing is very well done! And the entire feel of the song really gets to you and sets the mood!
Really great submission, really great guy (no bias(probably)), Great work! :D
I wonder what this track has to offer me- WHAT IS THAT MELODY!?!?!?!?!
Great Descent: CHILLS, CHILLS, and MORE CHILLS. That synth lead is absolutely chilling, and all those intense sounds you have in the ambience to contrast the nice synthy, lofi pad aesthetic of the song added so much tension, and kept me on edge the whole time despite my headbanging with those absolutely BASHING, kick drums you had in there. such a groove, such a vibe.
Hubble Vision: It's so pretty, it's so relaxed, but it st HJOLYYYY- sorry the next song came on- anyways- it still has some tension in there with that distortion, it felt more like catching your breath, rather than taking a full-on break, which I thought was really cool!
Hubble Vision Decision: Okay, Dr. Seuss, I see you. quick question- WHAT KIND OF ANGELIC, UNHOLY DEITY OF CREATION AND ANNIHILATION AM I STANDING BEFORE!?!?!? That deep piano is so imposing, grand, and full of power; it just hits so hard every time, and then that light piano arpeggio makes it so playful and innocent to me at the same time, and that synth lead again is just so beautiful. Can I just say you have a mastery over ambience and sound design, incredible, incredible, incredible work!
Green Sludge Astral Space: whatever all-powerful creation I stood before previously, I have clearly made angry. It started with those fast-paced kicks, which to me felt like a heart-racing, perhaps a panic, or a ferocious rage, and then it sort of chilled out a bit, which to me almost sounded like a reflection of sorts. And might I say to you, my good sir, you have outdone yourself one thousand-fold. This might be my favourite submission, this soundtrack gave me chills every. single. song.
Thank you so much for participating. It was a pleasure to listen to this, fantastic work!!! 10/10 :D
i really like that siren sounding synth that came in at around a minute in, in the second track. all those alien-y tech-y sounds you guys used, as well as the glitchy sound effects are really really cool! it really feels quite futuristic and high-tech. Both songs connect quite nicely but they're still both quite unique which I love, overall a great submission! great work guys :D !!!
Those techy-beeps, and that high-pitched ringing, and that ambience, and those strings with the beautiful, peaceful, suspenseful piano, they're all so different, but all the tracks are really well connected. It's calm but sad; it sounds like an ending, but it sounds like a longing for more at the same time. Really loved the entire vibe of this track, and the variety keeps it refreshing and interesting. awesome work! :D
I can't even say anything about this dude, it's just so beautiful, I love time signature changes, so that boss theme is like the best thing ever to me, the first track synchronize, is so mystical and just AIU*OYWOGDIAUW, it's so good, it really hooks you and drags you into the world you've created here.
And the Proclaimed architect is a wonderful addition, I always love silly lil guys like that, I also thought it was a great idea to give players a break from the more dramatic dark tone that the soundtrack has as a whole.
Mal-function is also just so wonderfully ambient and dark, and that piano adds such a mysterious, intriguing vibe to the whole song too. I love how it introduces the audience to the final boss motif (forgot what it was called) before it happens, and because that song is to be used whenever something bad happens, it makes the boss track so intimidating.
The vibrato on that synth lead in the boss track also kind of reminds me of the slime god track from the Terraria Calamity mod, in which it is purely just evil-sounding. awesome submission man! Really loved listening to this one! :D
Wow, Wow, Wow.
Yeah, you two just cooked the most gourmet dish ever known by humankind. First off, that game concept is super super cool! I loved all the mechanics and the general story you guys came up with! It was all really well thought out, which really impressed me!
and then, oh my goodness - THE MUSIC! The music had me absolutely sold. I didn't get bored a single time listening to this track; it really reminded me of Super Mario Galaxy, and just like Nintendo vibes all around.
All the themes were so charming, well composed, and well mixed that I could die from it. But I still have my favourites, the tracks, 1, 2, and 6 were all absolutely masterful, all those time signature changes in the boss theme had my jaw dropping through the ground 6ft deep, definitely one of my top tracks for this jam! awesome work you two!
Hopefully I'll see you guys in some other music composing jams as well :D
Loved it so much! super heavy and emotional tone, the guitar sounded like it was grieving, but the pace felt like pushing past something, or overcoming something, I really like the ambience you've got and the synths, the instrumentation is absolutely fantastic and your storytelling skills are great here as well, I loved how the end of the track called back to the beginning (not sure if that has any relation to a story i'm unaware of).
The only thing I can say is that the mixing for the track wasn't amazing. I feel like some things were sorta drowned out by the reverb a little, or it just sounded mildly muddy whenever it hit for some reason. still very listenable of course, but the mixing is definitely something to improve on a bit more.
Despite that, I think this is one of the most unique and beautiful tracks I've listened to so far! Thanks so much for the amazing submission! :D
Thank you so much! Yes, I think I might come back to this track at some point and finish the full OST for sure! since I enjoyed making this one so much :)
I did get some feedback about how the king's theme sounded ominous before, but I was unsure how to fix that. The king is gentle and kind, but my goal was to make him seem a little imposing - he is a king after all, although I get now why it just didn't seem right.
The distorted pads definitely aren't quite victorious -- but that one is intended for sure, it's a more bitter-sweet victory, rather than an all-out win.
Really appreciate all the feedback from you! Thank you so much for listening. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
