Huh, good questions. I'd suggest combining things from these two lists:

1. Spark
2. Surge
3. Lighting
4. Plasma
5. Circuit
6. Threshold

and

1. Champion
2. Paragon
3. Defender
4. Shield
5. Conductor
6. Bastion

There isn't a hard cap, but generally 2-5 players works best.
