Realized I never actually replied which is partially because reading your comments about how the dice function... well can't disagree at all. Was originally trying to go for a combination of Astrea: Six Sided Oracle and Friends vs Friends but kinda lost track of why Astrea uses dice in the first place (needs to lean more into the lets go gambling aspect and needs to treat each dice as an individual card/piece of the deck).

Thanks for the feedback and insight!

There's 8 total unique faces, sadly only 4 of them actually have abilities (you start with the 4 that do, one of the ones without an ability and a blank face). So honestly if you kept just getting one that said it isn't set up you probably just got really really unlucky (assuming you were using the right click to use the ability and re-roll). Appreciate the comments though!

Thanks I really appreciate it! Working with the shaders probably took up half my time lmao

I completely agree… which is why there’s a label at the top of the screen that changes to tell what the current ability does. Notably this doesn’t help while modifying dice tho which is an issue that will need to be fixed. The fact that you didn’t notice it however is great feedback, clearly I need to make it more obvious or directly tell the player about it in an tutorial of some kind.

If windows tries to “protect you” by stopping the game from running, you can click “more info” (small underlined text) which then gives you the option of running it anyway

When downloading the game, inside the zip folder the actual game is the exe file named “Six Sided Ne-off Gambit”, it’s generally third from the bottom.

If you find yourself stuck in a doorway facing a horde of enemies… you can simply dash through them, their collision does not affect you while dashing. This will likely happen when first trying to get into the main chamber.

(one could call this problem of door cramming a design issue… they would be correct but shh)

I honestly don't what more to say other than... goddamn that's good

If by some ungodly miracle I survive I plan to go back to continuing the game engine (will have my main pc again in time for the next round which has working drivers)

Yeah I want to add a wave based mechanic sorta thing as you re-add in functionality which introduces additional bugs (would be a fun way of introducing mechanics)

The best stories are based on truth… :(

Unfortunately that video was real… taken 5mins before I started dev on this game. *cries*

I mean how else do you get rid of the bugs in your code?

Well aware of that issue, it’s what happens when you make a game in about 5-6 hours total. Going to try and fix that along with some other issues when I next get the chance!

(Btw I’d suggest rephrasing comments to be more along the lines of constructive criticism eg: “I fell off the map in the first 5 seconds, you should probably add a way to get sent back or add walls”, as currently it comes across as just straight criticism)

Down near the bottom of the screen there’s a ball of iron representing how much iron you have stored (grows larger and smaller) and yeah I agree, it could definitely do with a crosshair, I’ll probably try to code in some sort of ui system.

Creepers? Aww man

Was a fun game (completed all the levels) and the door placing game a bit more freedom when trying to find a solution, would suggest modifying where you can put the door as currently you can just put the door on top of the last star you'll collect making the best solution often just slapping it on top off a star.

Where’s the fun in using normal engines?

I’ll be honest I’ve been trying to understand what you were talking about but I think I finally understand. Do you mean the yellow connection between you and your summons? If so that’s just meant to represent the spiritual connection (helps show which ones are you allies not enemies). If I’ve misunderstood there question feel free to correct me and I’m happy to answer any further questions and I’d love any advice.

your link to your discord doesn't work and it's the same for the link in the other discussion... I'm guessing you've made the links have a time limit which is why the other link worked but now doesn't either

I originally planned to allow for all sort of weapons from axes to hammers and I’m considering to continue the project and add exactly that. We’ll have to see but I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Thanks I’m happy you enjoyed the concept!

Thanks!

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the mechanics. We originally planned to have more abilities including magnets, fireballs ect but unfortunately ran out of time. Also it’s great to hear that the instructions worked well as we were originally not sure how to convey that information so it’s always nice to hear that it worked out in the end.

Disclaimer: There is currently an issue with the contract running the minting as it was accidently set to owner only.

I have contacted Eric and am waiting to see if I can reupload... until then you can still use this however expect the minting at end to not work

(1 edit)

That issue will be because your on the wrong network… try switching to rinkaby and doing it again. The transaction should then go through

Sorry probably should have mentioned that I just forgot because I rarely switched networks but when I did I had the exact same issue so I can confirm that will be the problem

I followed the instructions and claimed it and the contract even appeared and went through according to metamask

It got stuck on transaction confirming for the village. While I was waiting for my village to load I was just confused as there was no tutorial or instructions what so ever so I didn't know what to do (I did the research which wasn't even labeled research then still didn't know what to do). Then I tried to mint a villager after getting the ingame currency which didn't seem to work. Then the game crashed and all I see is a sad face.

I uh don’t know what your talking about… black is lying! They’re clearly the imposter, quickly vote them out!

Seems to be a common feeling with the speed… really makes me wish I could change one or two values and speed it up now. Either way, thanks for the feedback and I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the idea behind it.

To any who may wonder about the excessive amount of nfts owned by me in the test net collection. I may have gone around to people who aren’t a big fan of nfts and tricked them into making one as a joke. Very entertaining and worked well to assure me there aren’t any major bugs.

After a quick retest it seems like the image for the nft being minted doesn't initially load due to it being uploaded. If this occurs just wait a bit and refresh the metadata as it's simply an issue of the backend storage having a small issue with upload speed

I’ve been wanting a VR game jam forever and so when I clicked on this and saw that I recognised everyone (except Dinesh who I had sadly never found before and am now also subscribed to) I had to join. Thanks for hosting this and I look forwards to when it begins

Thanks! It's great to hear you enjoyed it!

I'm glad to hear to enjoyed it! I'll try and keep the charging in mind as I agree it was probably a bit too slow. It's also great to hear you found one of the easter eggs... (the second is very small but is with you every jump along the way)

thanks I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it

I’m guessing the disorientating gameplay was the camera movement and if so I’ve had a couple comments and I am to fix that next time. If it’s anything please let me know so I can try and improve. Either way thanks for the comment
