🎶 Meowsic – Patch Update V1.2 🎶

Hi everyone!

We’re back with the final patch update for Meowsic, and it’s a big one. After listening closely to your feedback (thank you again to everyone who played, shared thoughts, and reported bugs!), we’ve worked hard to address the rough edges and add some highly–requested features.

This will be the last update for Meowsic as we shift our focus to our main IP, Drone Defiance, but we wanted to make sure the game felt stable, polished, and fun before we wrapped it up.

✨ What’s New in V1.2

🐾 Gameplay Improvements & Fixes

Cat movement & jump bugs fixed → controls now feel smoother and more reliable.

Platform movement clamped → no more dragging platforms all the way out of bounds.

Platform overlap issue resolved → platforms can no longer clip into each other.

Platform reset on fall → if the cat falls off, the moved platforms reset to their original positions.

Celebration on track completion → when you reach the end, cat movement locks and a victory message awaits!

🎵 Player Experience

Added checkpoints → no more spirit–crushing full restarts; you’ll respawn further along the track.

Music looping fixed → the base track now loops continuously instead of stopping.

⚙️ Optimization & Tech

Platform logic moved to C++ → smoother, more optimized performance.

Keyboard reworked in C++ with Animation Blueprints + states for petting, playing, and idle hand animations.

Unnecessary files cleaned → build size reduced from 398 MB → 273 MB!

🎨 Visual & Polish

Original platform materials restored (missed in the jam build due to time limits).

New icons, splash screen, and loading screen added for a more complete experience.

This patch is our way of saying thank you to everyone who played Meowsic v1.1 and shared feedback. Your support helped us smooth out the bumps and bring the game closer to what we originally envisioned.

We won’t be updating Meowsic further, but we hope this final patch gives you a much more polished and enjoyable experience. From here, the team is turning our attention to Drone Defiance, our main IP – and we can’t wait to share more about it soon.

Hi everyone!

First off, thank you all so much for taking the time to play Meowsic and leave such detailed and constructive feedback, it means a lot to us!

We’ve noticed that many of you encountered similar issues, and we wanted to be fully transparent: due to a last-minute merge right before the deadline, some core gameplay values were unintentionally reset. This unfortunately slipped through our final checks and resulted in the bugs and rough edges you all picked up on.

The good news? We've already addressed these issues in our internal build, and everything is now working as originally intended! That version brings the pacing, controls, and rhythm-based mechanics much closer to our actual vision for the game.

Unfortunately, per jam rules, we can't upload the fixed version until the voting period ends. but we’d love for you to check it out once it’s live. We’re confident it’ll feel like a much more polished and fun experience!
