Hello,
Sorry for not responding sooner, I've been busy with the end-of-year closing.
I need a few days to upload the demo with the first four complete phases.
I'll let you know when it's ready.
And keep chasing your dreams ;)
Hello Roboto
How did you lose faith so quickly?
Perhaps the solution is for the character to gain faith instead of losing it little by little, so at least you can hope to regain faith...
But if that doesn't work, you'll just have to restart (press M).
Thanks again for testing it.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Hi Roboto
First of all, thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it ;)
I'll answer your questions.
The voices summarise the text that appears, but they are not identical so that they don't go on too long... but they say the same thing.
You're right, the voice says RIGHT but it's LEFT. Sorry for the mistake, I'll change it as soon as I can.
Regarding the rhythm, it is as you say: if you click on the outer circle, it is a hit, and if you click near the inner circle, it is a perfect.
The arrow icons are not displaying correctly. I will send you a screenshot.

Regarding faith... there are objects that purify... and Perfects give you faith.
Thanks!!
After months of development, today we take a very special step: the first playable demo of Penance is now live on itch.io.
In this demo you will explore Phase 1 (Matins, the Cemetery) and experience the core mechanics of the game:
🕯️ Wander through gothic environments filled with mystery.
✝️ Use prayer to purify objects and face specters that seek to shatter your faith.
⚖️ Discover the first narrative fragments from the 50 objects that will gradually unveil the secret of the Abbey.
This is only the beginning of Elías’s journey, a monk trapped between Faith and Guilt, whose destiny will be revealed piece by piece.
👉 We invite you to play the demo, share your impressions, and help us shape the rest of the journey. Your feedback will be key to polishing this experience.
Thank you for accompanying us on this project. May you enjoy the demo… and remember:
"Each prayer brings you closer to the truth, but also draws the shadows nearer."
