Hey draketrout, here's a library called sugarcoat which you can use with Castle and Love to make your game retro-inspired, if you're interested! https://github.com/TRASEVOL-DOG/sugarcoat

Castle will allow you to scale your 64x64 pixel game to full screen, if you want, using its dimensions API: https://castle.games/documentation/castle-file

Hopefully this is useful info. good luck with the jam !

I really like the concept a lot! I'm a big metroidvania fan and like the literal interpretation of "player growth" as a flower gaining seeds, etc. It seems like a full game like this would really emphasize the "lonely, atmospheric" aspect of the genre above the action aspect, and I think that's really cool.

Interesting, that makes sense!

Eee that makes me so happy to hear :) We'll have some fun multiplayer games on there soon - can't wait to share them with you, if you like. Our discord is here: https://discord.gg/4C7yEEC

No worries! Cool, always exciting to learn a new language. Everyone I know who's tried Rust loves it :)

Thank you for playing our games and for organizing Procjam!! I help build the Castle thing you used to play some of these games ! I hope you found it a nice way to play some of the games without downloading them. If you’re interested in the project’s future, our Twitter is www.twitter.com/playcastle_io

Keep on gaming!! 👏🏻👏🏻

Bufferfish :}

When I was a little kid, I had this old goofy PC game called Endorfun. It kind of threw me back to that a little bit. Here's a link:

Okay, will check it out!

Okay okay, you win. I played... Technobabylon. Lol. And Tron 2.0 like 15 years ago. :>

Cool! BRC also seems like a place of infinite interesting things to photograph, so seems like a great choice

Neat! How did you and Jerrtato meet?

Oh, cool, thank you!

Cool procjam entry! I love how he's randomly a cyclops tarzan, lol. What are you future plans for it?

This is beautiful, so up my alley, and I want it as my screensaver. Hope it gets discovered and featured. :)

I am a small fish and hope one day to be as large as my large fish friends. I kind of imagine them making accordion noises while they swim :p

This is so awesome and totally my aesthetic. I want to make a sound generator for it !! :)
I just recently played through this game called Technobabylon, and I feel like you might like it if this is your aesthetic! https://store.steampowered.com/app/307580/Technobabylon/

Hey! Cool! really nice job with animating the character. I love the holding-pattern animation. That's tough to do.

Also you're evil for designing these areas :}

Any plans for future development? Thx for submitting to procjam. I had a fun week also.

Hey! Neat! I think it'd be cool if you could personalize the flags in some way. Like if people could tweet an image at you, and you generate a flag using their image as the seed. Where were you thinking of taking it next?

This is neat - I haven't seen a mechanic like this for an action game. I wasn't very good at hitting the dragon. Was it inspired by another game or did you just dream it up randomly?

Heheh, using twitch as the game interface is very clever. Did this just pop into your head one day while you were using twitch? Any future plans for it?

Hey! Very cool! What inspired you to create this in Rust? Also, you should message @redblobgames on the procjam discord. He is very into this type of proc gen. You will probably love his stuff as well, if you haven't seen it already: https://www.redblobgames.com/

Hi there! I typed in a pretentious title and received a masterpiece.

I especially like the color scheme. I'm curious what inspired the use of a "falling blocks" game to paint. Any story there? Very clever. Thanks for sharing and being part of procjam :)

This has such atmosphere! I rly love it.
I hope you find the time to do the larger-scale version of the project that you mention you'll go after in a few years. :)
Also, it reminded me of an old track I like, so I looped that in the background and wandered around with it playing alongside your wind sounds. One of my favorite feelings in video games is the sense of isolation and loneliness that comes with an atmosphere of nature and ancient lore - like in the metroid series.

Thank you so much for helping organize Procjam. It's been so cool being on discord and seeing everyone come together for the week. I learned a lot, had a fun polishing my game and adding some procedural art (still more to do...), and even met up with a kind stranger from discord in person. A few friends took part in the jam also and had a great time making some fun stuff! Cheers :)

Cool! My initial reactions were:
- It looks really nice/immersive

- I wish the camera motion's easing was smoother when moving around

- I wish I had known what the overall goal was: am I supposed to just kill as many people as I can? Is there somewhere I should be headed?

Is development continuing? Where are you headed with it next?

Hahha, fellow burner here. Loved this. I feel like it'd be kind of funny if there were a constant droning noise of wind-blowing-dust. I got a +98.33 on my view of the temple! :}  What inspired this ? Were you out on the playa and this just popped into your head?

I had a lot of fun playing this game! I think it would be really cool if there were simple sounds and maybe satisfying animations when the puzzle is solved. How did you come up with the concept? Was it based on another game or did you just dream it up somehow? Very clever :)

It's been a ton of fun working on this little thing! Hope you enjoy, and I would love to hear your thoughts!
