BoneBoy: Revengeance is a 2D shooter-platformer where visibility is limited to a light aura around the player character so the player must shoot light-balls to find their way to the platforms and kill enemies.
The goal of the game is to ascend through platforming to the end of each level and then defeat a Boss while also looking out for hidden collectibles. Platforming is the main challenge of the game -successfully navigating the terrain- but defeating enemies and overcoming bosses is also part of the challenge and the fun. Patience is key.
We want the player to be a little anxious and fearful, not always knowing where to go next and sometimes losing sight of the platforms ahead. The player character is competent, but not all powerful: they have the tools to overcome all challenges presented, but success will depend mostly on player skill.
