so they lied about the prize ?

(1 edit)

My personal picks from the jam:

Enjoyment: 2048 but it's RPG by manfish

Concept: Zorblug the Space Annihilator by Tenes, Lorveq

Presentation: Golden Cave by Ilynn

Limitation: ITER2 by theBigIsaac

Overall: Polygon Protocol by Kiril

That was a lot of fun! Even with a score of 0, using events and if-statements is a really clever way to handle character upgrades. I just wish there were more upgrade options available. Please keep working on this!

Wow its really fun but at the same time super frustrating towards the end haha!

Definitely a top pick from the mini jam

Did you get the $100 ?

This is a solid game and a great way to end the jam with. It will definitely be one of my highlights. The game runs extremely well, and the intro tells a nice story even without any text, leaving the player to interpret its meaning, which I really enjoyed.

The gameplay itself is fairly simple, but the boss mechanics are super cool. I love the aesthetic shift from a cute jelly style to more evil, corrupted, alien looking bosses. I didn’t manage to defeat the third boss, but the game kept me on my toes the entire time.

It’s also really cool to know that you helped manfish with his game too, even though you didn’t have time to add a leaderboard to your own.

Technically game is not meant to be beaten but you can still trigger the old victory screen by activating the redundant code still present in the game, you must find the yellow mini map interface, extract it and locate the hidden items that are only visible on the mini-map.

I’m really proud of this project. While I agree that 'AI slop' needs to stop, I’m also inspired by how these tools can make creative development like making video games more accessible for those who struggle. To me, it’s about leveling the playing field—not replacing human creativity, but enhancing it.

Honestly, between ChatGPT’s data and Google’s algorithms, AI probably knows my thoughts better than I do! Full disclosure: I’m using AI to polish this text, but the core idea is mine; the tool is just the polisher, much like my jam entry. The concept of building a Dyson sphere just to power AI data centers for winning game jams is hilariously wild. Feel free to check out my own 'AI slop' it’s a solid 10 seconds of gameplay! (you could say I’m currently at the first stage of your game in irl)

It’s definitely a strange era. I find it hard to watch anything from the last two years because so much content and commentary feels glazed with AI bots. It’s frustrating, but that’s why I love the absurd statement your game makes: what’s the point of progress if it leads to extinction?

Killing fast food workers is definitely a choice! But man, I love the meme energy in this entry. It really stands out visually, and the music is dank. Also, that guy in the black t-shirt and sunglasses at Taco Bell looks kinda like Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers! Well done on unashamedly asking for those 5 stars, too haha.

It just works. Good fun game that's scoped very well for a mini jam and strikes a good balance with the difficulty. I love the aesthetics; the art style gives off great Souls like vibes, and the Japanese styling is a fantastic touch. Reminds me of the show Samurai Jack for some reason.

You win this jam, my friend.

Out of the 24 other entries I’ve played properly, this one really stands out. I’m genuinely glad I came across it.

I’ll be honest at first I didn’t like it, mostly because I didn’t understand it. I couldn’t even break 50 points. I thought it might just be a gimmick just like the top high scores is hardcoded . But once I slowed down and actually learned the mechanics, after a few real head-scratchers, it finally clicked… and I started getting pretty good.

I realised it’s not about just having two matching pieces on the board, but about managing multiples, delaying level-ups, and using positioning. Treating the player as a blocker between pieces is such a smart idea. It genuinely feels like a mix of chess and solving one side of a Rubik’s Cube.

The sound design is also fantastic, the unique sounds for each monster add so much character. I also love the small visual detail of the player physically looking stronger as they level up.

The way health, damage, and level all interact works incredibly well. For beginners, even reaching the 256 boss feels like a huge achievement — it’s a real gatekeeper. Once you break past it, the game opens up and you can really start racking up points. And the strategy of trading HP for positioning? Absolute gold.

I’ll definitely be coming back to this and aiming to put my name on the leaderboard. Please keep working on this project — I’ll be your first customer, dude.

This is a great game to chill out with after playing intense titles like Roguelike202ITER2, and Polygon Protocol. It’s a super cute idea! I’d definitely love to see even more content added in the future.

This might honestly be the best game in the jam in terms of design, content, and theme! I also love that it auto saves in the browser for returning players. Unfortunately, my browser kept crashing during the final boss fight, but it was still a blast getting super OP, to the point where I was invincible and could one-click the first boss. Great work!

Thanks for giving it a proper look! The controls do feel a bit janky without the proper context, but I’m glad you understood the design I was aiming for. To emulate an old system feel, I intentionally capped the RAM at 2GB and I'm stoked you managed to load up to the max limit. I would have loved to include things like decoy clones, but sticking to three was the only way to keep things stable without the game breaking lol haha!

I actually like your game a lot because of how it incorporates fitness and motivation. I also wanted to make something similar for this jam, where the player has to do push-ups or squats to attack and sit-ups when they take a hit. Had to set it aside but in your game I legit felt like doing squats along with the main character to power up in real life.

Thanks for checking out my game as well!

Hahaha, now I know exactly how Blackbeard feels in One Piece! This is such a great supervillain simulator.

Sick game! It actually reminds me of my Unity project I worked on a while back for an 'Out of Control' themed jam. You hit a really good balance here, though. I love how the enemies rain down on you, and slicing through a whole horde is so satisfying.

Visually, this game really stands out in the jam! You’ve provided a great variety of characters and a very solid foundation to build upon. Currently, the gameplay feels a little slow to me, mainly because units can’t move diagonally, though I assume that’s by design. Adding some sound effects would really take this to the next level.

Interesting upgrade options. Starting out super weak and becoming completely OP is a great feeling and fits the theme perfectly. The intro was super good, too

Interesting game. Reminds me of StarCraft. Love the animation of the base moving.

Perfect game. You really deserve that cookie. That special skill ability is fire boss.

Masterpiece! Much better than my game honestly!  Ended up being One Push Man!!

That leaderboard system makes it incredibly addicting. I only manage like top 90% in Megabonk, but I feels super good to crack the top 10 on your game here, haha! I also noticed a hard cap on the score for the easiest level, which makes sense for balancing. I’ll stop messing up your leaderboards for now! Thanks again for clarifying the hearts mechanic. I'll definitely check out the downloaded version next.

Wow, everything in this game is just fun! The first few runs were a bit messy, but after that, the design felt incredibly intuitive. I love the contrast of the mellow jazz music mixed with the high-octane bullet hell action. Smashing into enemies while invulnerable is also incredibly satisfying.  I love the upgrade system. The different options are well designed and genuinely allow for a lot of varied playstyles.

I have two minor points of feedback: I couldn't interact with the hearts when the boss fight begins (or maybe I don't understand how to use them), and the high scores are not updating properly. Otherwise, I probably would have filled most of them up by now, haha!

This is an awesome addition! I love how the game becomes more manageable after a few runs, especially once you unlock the drones , rockets and extra time. While I found the Railgun's timing a bit tricky, the animation is excellent. The Minigun was a blast to use since you can hit enemies off-screen, and the dialogue is hilarious. I love how the main character basically worships the hourly wage too!

Wow, it really is tough being a mod! This is a really cool simulator for seeing what it's like on the other side. The constant Discord notification sounds are genuinely giving me tingles!

Thanks for checking my game out! Yes, I really outdid myself adding all those error pop-ups haha. The balance I was aiming for is that you can delete a single virus pretty quickly, but even one getting too close can become super annoying. Please do come back anytime! I know it’s not as satisfying as clicking for gold, but I think it has its own unique 'error clicker' charm.

Wow, this game is incredibly relatable! I often wish I could be isekai'd myself. I managed to unlock two endings, but I got completely stuck in that 'Are You Dead Yet?' loop.

At first, I didn't think much of the game, but I genuinely couldn't stop clicking! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how ABSURD the numbers get, and how quickly the scaling happens. I was hooked and wanted to keep pushing the limits to see if my browser finally broke.

Thank you so much for playing the game for 30 minutes! I know most people only stick around for a minute or two, so I really appreciate it. Well done on unlocking the mini map and grabbing that extra RAM!

The minimap view was actually the main game display early on, but it looked pretty dull. So it ended up becoming an unlockable feature, but I totally get why the top-down perspective is much easier to play.

Exactly, you nailed the core idea! The system is capped at just 2GB of RAM. The concept is that you are on an old, dying machine packed with malware. The odds are intentionally stacked against you, and the player simply has to do their best to manage a last stand scenario. Thanks for playing my game!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the idea of using RAM as HP. It makes sense that the more memory an antivirus program has available, the more power it has to effectively handle threats. hehe!

That's good to know. I wont be messing with the swamp king anytime soon. Also, I just saw your comment saying there are floors as high as 37. Will have to try again to see my luck.

Appreciate the feedback! You're 100% right about the readability and the pause button. After playing it a hundreds of times during development, I became ‘blind’ to it, but I can see how it’s overwhelming for a new player. Ability 1 only removes 10 errors, so it definitely gets lost once the pop-ups take over. Thanks for the notes, they'll be incredibly helpful if I push an update.

oh okay!! that makes quiet a bit more sense now. Thank you for letting me know.

This game plays so well! The concept is really nice and feels quite unique. The RNG definitely adds a bit of flavor to each run.

Really hard rng game. I love it. Make you feel like its a really dungeon. Shrek is definably beats me every times.

Great work. It’s a bit of a grind, and even with the health upgrade, I was still getting one-shotted immediately! However, the crab's taunts are brilliant, they provide the perfect motivation to keep trying. I really enjoy the 'nearly unbeatable enemy' concept.
