Totally fair, I think this is a lesson in getting used to my own janky controlls and not having enough time between playtesting -> shipping. I agree with a lot of your points and given more time would definitely fix them!

Looks good, feels good just quite satisfying and fun well done. I seemed to be able to 'go infinite' pretty quickly by upgrading the coal -> fuel path, from there I ended up with so much money so fast I ran out of upgrades to buy before I was even getting ~20% of the way through the dig. Then the challenge is building a machine that can make it all the way.

Well done great work this is fun and impressive bit of work for only a week

Much appreciated. I agree re: the camera, it's a really weak part of the game to me. I was racking my brains trying to think how to get it right whilst making the rest of the game in a rush.

I realise in hindsight, I should have just done WASD camera panning and would put that in if I had more time now. I spent the whole jam thinking we need to limit the player's ability to pan the camera around the map for... some reason? Just a bad game design choice, I'll do better next time!

I really like it, looks and sounds good and it's a nice premise for a longer game - very impressed you put it together in one day.

My only criticism is that the signal is right at the top of the scene, so I spend a lot of time not looking at the lovely pixel art. I started listening for the sound instead, which is fine, but maybe the signal could be more central?

Holy hell you made this on your own in a week? This is amazing, super duper well done. I love it and think it's so cool.

Some of these outfits had me laughing out loud!

It's a really cool system you built here, unfortunately I think the variety might harm it, because getting even one clue massively narrows down who the suspect might be to only three or so people. I think you'd need either even more potential suspects, or just a smaller pool of outfit items per run (maybe drawn from a much bigger pool as some are very creative)

I had fun anyways, great work.

Looking forward to playing it, i think it has a lot of potential :)

Love the retro look and music, and the gameplay is pretty fun if simple. I did find it quite frustrating to realise my hp slowly runs out over time it felt like it devalued learning to dodge the enemy's attacks.

Nice work, anyway, and solo on your first jam, amazing!

Cool quite fun little loop and so smooth, nicely done.

It's very addictive hunting that next upgrade and so satisfying to just start destroying the 'normal' pirates.

Great fun and so cute love the animations and the art.

I have to say, the hitbox on the rocks felt a -little- unforgiving, I would definitely favour the player a lot more especially as some quite rapid movement in and out can be asked for.

It was such a brilliant touch to add the 'between line' plants, transforms it from a somewhat simple game into almost a rythm game and made it very fun.

I don't know if it's just me bugged, but I can't scoop up the big red carrots(?)

Awesome, looks great - fun little game. The animations on the bounty hunter are so great. I actually felt scared a little bit when the screen effect was on and he caught me. Great work.

Oh my god the police just gunned the whole office down trying to get me, brutal!

Fun little game and I like the art :) Great job.

I tried a few runs but couldn't seem to get through the bandit camp, sorry. I'm confused and don't know what to do.

Eventually, I tried eating food as the run went on to keep my hp up but even then it seems you have to get quite lucky to get through that first run. It also seems to soft lock a bit after your die, the reload doesn't fully reset the game state and there's no message saying I died.

It's a shame because I sense this could be insanely satisfying, especially with the equipment system, if I could go back and do a tough run and watch my character blaze through it with better gear/stats.

I'd like to to give this another go with an equipment system and maybe some animations. It honestly makes me curious to make a sort of half idle game like this myself.

Nice simple little game. The shooting stars were so pretty.

It felt a little odd the changing speed on the ship but once I figured out it was tied to the fruit I played around it and that gave it a bit of gameplay.

Loved the little sound for when I tried to pick up breadfruit when full, had me laughing out loud

It's a little brief, but you're solo on your first jam totally understandable, an easy way to add a bit more to the gameplay might have been to have the fruit bob around in the water a little bit?

Lovely, had a lot of fun and right on theme. Really just so cute and enjoyable thank you for putting this together. When I realised the cats were actually disappearing from the streets I felt a bit bad, but I suppose they are criminals!

I do have a couple of tiny criticisms - the number of criminals left counter didn't seem to work for me, looks like it went to 0 when there were no more posters to add to the board, not when they ran out of criminals in general.

Some of the clues were very hard to spot. Maybe if someone is stuck for a while / revisiting the same scenes a lot a hint could come up.

Otherwise yeah really enjoyed it great job everyone.

First of all, this is amazing you put all this together by yourself in just a week, so impressed.

I absolutely adore the music, but I would just ask please add a volume slider to future games because I felt bad having too change my system volume just for this!

I have to say I found the gameplay a little confusing, I think a small tutorial would add a lot but those can be time consuming to make. I did work it out eventually (I think) through play anyway. Maybe some animations would help explain it anyway - for example some kind of discard pile with your cards visibly returning to your deck between fights that sort of thing.

Overall I had fun battling my way through, great work :)
Tip to anyone reading: I found it worked well to play low on my turn, and save my higher cards to counter the enemies attacks. Don't know if that's optimal but worked for me. I also just spammed attack upgrades so those low cards still hurt enemies.  I did lose to the door so maybe not a pro tip :D

Cute! That was my first impression.
I struggled a bit at first with what exactly I was supposed to do but once I worked out the first shop didn't really matter (maybe I'm wrong?) and closing it starts a new level I was in the loop.

Maybe it was an issue with my brain, but at first the shop didn't work for me - I eventually figured out I could move around the shop with tab and buy with enter but something telling me that in the shop would have been super nice.

The gameplay is simple and fun and I like controlling the character, the only thing I would add is it can feel a bit unresponsive when trying to jump right after landing, not sure why.

I was a little confused at first but once I worked out what to do, I got very addicted to this, it feels super immersive I caught myself dodging side to side with my ship. Great fun, thanks for making it great work.
