Hi! Just wanted to say I tried this out (very promising, btw! I enjoy it and look forward to updates) and found that this happened to me as well because my controller was plugged in. Turns out in this case you cannot register any clicking/keyboard inputs and it'll only accept the controller. Hopefully this helps!

That's perfect since, as you so knowingly put it, Mezz shouldn't have any trouble with them then.

I'm normally an avoid-spoilers-and-be-patient sort, but I keep looking at them for this because they keep being stuff I'm extremely into. You happened to hit one of my favorite creatures with this one, so my interest couldn't be higher right now!

I can only imagine how good it is for the game to be playable in Japanese. I'm sure it has an audience there. Kudos to Eiga!

in my defense, I was just too overwhelmed with concern for Mezz's safety in those several moments and didn't notice it

I do like the precedent set that if you have some issues in these chapters, those issues will 'follow you home' so to speak.
