I can't help it! This is great music. I hope one day to be able to orchestrate half as well as your work.
Great job!
Hey! this was a ton of fun!
There was great storytelling along with the written idea and it was a good listen. There were a few things Id like to see in the future like some more instruments or exploring conversations between two pieces. Like what does a conversation between the racoon and crow sound like?
As a concept, it was a great time!
I always hear the vinyl distortion and roll my eyes a bit because Im always expecting the music to sound really washed out and compressed, but this was honestly a pleasant surprise and the little sounds scattered around the track did amazing work for the atmosphere.
The sudden duck from emotional to the guitar like instrument crying and then jungle drums was insane. I think the drums came in a little hot but, as a statement, that works. Its not a pleasant or balanced story you are telling.
The cool dragging drums in the third track along with the really long bend synths really does give an impression that there is something wrong or like time is warping. Great storytelling and the constant addition of small little changes keeps it fresh and easy to listen to. The gloves coming off at the end for the long strings hold outs was awesome.
Flat looking lamp was insane. I kept pausing to make sure I wasnt just hearing little movements, flickers, or shuffles from the outside world. The attention to detail here is great and I was really impressed by your efforts to tell a story.
immaculate work and storytelling here. I loved it and glad I got a chance to listen and rate before closing time. I would have regretted not hearing this earlier
Hey! this was a lot of fun!
I think a lot of people avoid entries that arent directly linked to a streaming service so it might take some extra leg work to advertise for it, but that aside:
You do great work with giving energy to the quiet parts of your music and your intuition for dynamics was very good at conveying the emotion behind what you wrote. In terms of writing a tribute or exploring your feelings, I personally think you did a great job. I dont really have many critiques for this since everything feels like an artistic decision or choice rather than a mistake.
This is wonderful work thank you a ton for submitting and taking me along on your journey!
Loved the little waltz nature of the first track. It was composed well and the build up really felt natural and earned! The piano in the 2nd track started ramping up in complexity and it felt fun but suspenseful. I agree with some previous comments about the dynamics/volume of the instruments. It would add a lot to just make sure instruments swell and fall in volume during important parts.
Great work! This is going to sound amazing as you continue your work!
Thank you a ton for the kind words on this! Will do. I plan to continue creating and honing whatever I got here. Im still a little unsure of what exactly it is I made, I was just kind of following what felt good or what I would sing in the shower and then trying to enhance it with other instruments.
I appreciate your listen!
PS: the deed has been done
Thank you a ton for the listen! I never thought of that specifically but when you phrase it that way, yeah I can kind of see a town building RPG in this. I really am glad it was able to evoke a feeling at all so thank you again for taking the time to let me know! im still learning so this is a good way to place an identity on a style of music I can create
Thank you so much for taking a listen! i loved your work so this is big praise. I am really glad there were good things found in both tracks. The Illusion of Gaia OST is a great recommendation and I plan on giving it a listen through as I try to figure out a bit more of my musical identity. This orchestration was a week long adventure and I still dont really know how or where this puts me as a composer or who even to reference since this was a blend of a couple different styles and not closely following 1 specifically. Its big news to find people who I can aim at to help hone some of what I have built here so thank you a ton!.
It was a hot rainy morning when I slumped out of bed... A stone cold, never miss a beat, detective with one thing on my mind. Evenfall. It was the last submission to a jam I had no time for, but for the sake of justice id make this exception. As stumbled out of the cold dark corner of my quarters, I grabbed a cigarette and swig of gin and snapped on both studio monitors to a buzz. "huh, it seems like that sad sack of a website itch.io is still kicking after all. What a surprise" I thought to myself. I expertly navigated to the Jam page like a bloodhound on the scent of criminal misdeeds. Finally, I was here. The Youtube link in the webpage couldnt have possibly prepared me for the doozy of a case I was about to find myself tangled up in and I suddenly realized.... I am going to need a harder drink for this one.
After unraveling a complicated web of lore, smooth jazz, and a smell that was too good to be true, I found myself falling deeper into a hole of inspiration and ideas, of which none of could match what Id just heard. Expertly crafted piano lazily trotting right from the dive bar down the street (of which i frequented often more and more these days). Soft brush strokes and hi-hat taps trailing closely along just behind any perceivable beat like a toddler following stuck to their moma's side. A stand up freghtless bass so subtly sitting in the back trying to remain sly and out of sight like a purse snatcher blending into a crowd to fade away...
I knew immediately that the killer responsible for this despicable orchestration of a dastardly plot had to be a mastermind in their own right. Fortunately for me I had a lead. It just a crumb left behind, but as a stone cold, never miss a beat, detective I knew one simple fact: Where there are crumbs, there is a trail.
Through all their careful planning, whether unwillingly or by design, a single name appeared on the results page:
BeepoStudios
I throw on my leather duster and favorite dark brimmed hat and decide to take a stroll down the town to have a talk with a few of my sources on any whispers about this 'Beepo' that they may have.
This case won't be as simple as I had initially figured, but, thats the life of a stone cold, never miss a beat, detective like myself. To me, this would be just another day in office, although how correct this assumption was remained to be seen...
Perhaps more is to come.
The first song was an absolute banger of a track I agree it feels like a radio hit. You nailed the ambiance and I could visualize the story as you were telling it! By the campfire had a bit of a long lead in but on reaching campfire defense squad, it really came together. This was a really fun set of tracks and you did great telling a story!

Great tracks! The percussion here is great! its not too grand and fits the theme really well. I can literally imagine the sound as coming from inside the bow of a pirate ship space wise and I really appreciate the attention to detail. Both tracks paint an image really well. Great work here!
This was really bouncy and fun! I was initially intimidated by the double digit track number, but they are short snippets of ideas and I appreciate that nothing overstays its welcome. You say what you want to say and move to the the next track! Slushee attack was really fun and I liked stargazing. Im looking at your screenshots genuinely impressed with how much sound you got out of so few instruments.
Great work here!
Heya friend!
Wanted to give some feedback I have for these tracks!
Ocean Detectives: This was fun, nice, and lo-fi. I did feel the 'on the beat' aspect of the song and i was certainly bopping my head to the track!
- One piece of advice I can give for this is that you have a great basis, but by the half way point, Ive already heard everything and it doesnt feel like there is enough movement/variation to drag it out by another minute. Two ways to fix this, either cut the track off once youve said everything you have to say (Try not to copy/paste sections for length basically ive done it alot as well) OR add more movement. Have the drums play fills or change the kick drum placement a little. Add that ending synth voice a bit earlier on and solo with it. Add something that puts another layer of an idea onto the primary bass progression. Very fun listen though!
Bad Guys Wanna Fight: Crazy break drum work! this is quite the departure from the first track. There isnt any long flowy elements and all the instruments seem to be chosen differently. Its an interesting battle theme because the main melody and supporting arpeggios seem out of key with the bass. Its a lot of tension building but its never cached out anywhere for any exciting moments. Its still a very interesting listen at worst and the squeaky door at the end made me laugh a little
You Failed, but thats OK!: I think I hear maybe some vynal distortion at the beginning around the 20 second mark? but not 100% sure and im listening on studio speakers. I get what you were going for here but that dead air needs to have some movement. That could mean turning up the effects there to 11 so that phone users can hear it. Once the music does actually come in, its just fine! Nice chord progression here.
Cool Shop: Holly bosa nova beat. This song is significantly louder than the rest of the tracks and I wish I could hear the bass a little more and synths a little less, past that, the actual arrangement itself is fun and a bit more reminiscent of Bad Guys Wanna Fight! Its fun for sure.
Back Home: Back home, You failed, and Ocean Detectives all seem to come from the same space, but Bad Guys wanna fight and Cool shop come from a different game entirely. Back Home was probably my favorite since there is a good amount of movement and it feels like its about to get too crowded, but then falls away to nothing and its really nice! there is some weird distortion/artifacts on the piano at the end that dont seem to fit well, BUTTTTTTTT the piece itself is done very well and I liked what you came up with
Your Ideas are great here! Good Job on the work!
Thank you a ton for the listen!
Throughout the process of making these, I was reading articles and watching youtube videos for how writing for strings works and I essentially found a lot of people who were writing for strings, but for stringed instrument players. They would say things like "Its really demoralizing for a bass player to receive 3 pages of whole notes. If you want long pads thats fine but basses can play the melody too. Make sure you give everyone a turn"
This kinda felt like it was unrelated for a day or so before I started to think "Well, I know im not writing for people, but what if I wrote like I wanted people to play my music?" and that became the basis for how both pieces were composed. I tried not to move past 3 musical ideas at a time and kept the energy up by raising the notes of lower instruments instead of the higher pitched solo strings. I kind of adopted the same mentality for track 1 with horns, but I used to be a jazz drummer so the conversations between instruments felt like it came intuitively. The hard part was really just making sure that all the instruments were having fun playing.
I learned that mid way through the composition week and that seemed to shape the rest of the tracks. Im really glad that you found something enjoyable in listening to these songs! I really thought coming in that my composition was going to be a weaker aspect.
Thank you a ton! Yeah this represents a lot of first for me. I really appreciate the praise coming from you! your music was really inspiring to hear and I am super glad to be told that im doing something correctly. I was really leaning into my intuition here and was afraid of much the opposite reaction from listeners, but this really does instill way more confidence than I should be allowed to have. You certainly make me proud of this little work.
Thank you a ton for listening!
This is literally so much fun im really glad you had the chance to make these! even on a budget this is just plain an extremely fun idea and your execution of multiple styles was awesome. I certainly dont know many people who could pull off so many good ideas at once like this.
Great job and congrats!!
WOW
Im listening through this work now and my jaw dropped during the first song. You have such fine control over dynamics and storytelling through your music. This could legitimately be a ripped film score and I wouldn't have known. It reminds me much of studying early animation.
The work you put in to building the relationships between Oboe and flute are masterful. The harp sits right in the background always ready to take over when things get quiet. You have an elegance when quickly building up instruments and volume that I dont often see because it isnt linear, it feels very natural.
Even just listening through Meadow of woeful souls, I can hear vibratos and staccatos that feel like a natural progression from extended thought and hopelessness to exhaustion.
Lost thought river felt exactly like its name. Its fleeting moments of clarity and movement live a river but it doesnt quite let you anchor onto any one idea. It reminds me of having multiple wind chimes in the same place. It can be a bit jarring and noisy but pleasant.
Really magical work you've done here amazing job
“I probably should have asked these questions at some point,” you think aloud, sighing
You idiots dont event know Im a dark souls speed runner.
This was quite possibly the single greatest adventure I've ever been on. Thank you for all the work and very funny moments that went into the story for this.
The music itself was great! lots of different test going on here and you played around with some nice chords and patterns! It was well worth the listen and you should be proud of your work here!
Wow. Im listening to these and Im so glad to have a chance to hear their final forms since picking up bits and pieces throughout your development in the discord!~ I really dont have much to say from a feedback perspective. Its just positive. You manage to hold the listeners attention even with relatively slower and lower energy songs. Thats not an easy balancing act and shows that youve put some real time into studying how these inspiration tracks tick and how to make them your own.
I hear the inspirations for each track but at no point am I put off or look at them as anything other than your own very detailed works.
This has been a beautiful soundtrack and Im really glad you reached out to me about my tiny songs so I could get an opportunity to hear this. I dont think I would have stumbled into it on my normal scrolling. Thank you a ton for this experience!
Thank you so much for this! Yeah i fully agree that brass kinda comes in like the koolaid man.
I am really delighted to hear that! I thought for sure I was making some really entry level mistakes with the whole set so its been quite surprising to see so many people enjoy my arrangement. I cant express how happy that has made me and I have more confidence now to learn the stuff getting in the way of better work now that its been pointed out.
Thank you for taking the time to listen at all!
Thank you so much! this is high praise for me. I was really worried coming in that there were going to be some pretty major problems with the arrangements that I just wasnt skilled enough to pick out, but ive been consistently and pleasantly surprised by the people who seemed to like it! It means the world to me that I created something that anyone but me was able to listen to and enjoy.
Thank you tons again!
Thank you so much! it was a good bit of work but Im glad it turned out half decent!.
I fully agree about the mixing/balance issues and I appreciate you catching on to it. I was more confident with throwing around the percussion but the rest of this is really just research and trial so I wasnt 100% sure I made something that felt nice. Im glad it seems to have been worth it!
(That is Brownie. She is a sweet heart for sure)
