There is a form uppon submitting the game, it's important that form is filled out with the credits of everything and everyone involved.

AI can only be used for textures.

Pretty much anything that wasn't made by you needs to be credited and legally obtained.

Our own assets are ok to use, but still need to be credited. There are songs in our games that weren't made by our sound guys, so you'll need to double check if they are ours or not (if not, it's not suggested to use them as you don't own the rights to those songs)

Usually, we enjoy seeing different game genres being explored, it adds to the uniqueness of the game, so definitely go for it.

That would be a question for Mike or Vince and only after the game is fully done

Sure lol

It's specifically about uncensored nudity, real life gore and sexual acts.

Scantily clad is fine. Pretty much anything we've done in our games before is fine.

It pertains to any form of content that would be illegal in most countries like showing and glorifying real acts of terrorism, spreading viruses, CP, etc for example.

Rule of thumb: If we included something in our games, it should be fine to include in your project (killing pedestrians is fine for example).

(1 edit)

We haven't mentioned it because there's no way to enforce the rule as we'd be illegaly asking for IDs to all participants.

With that said, we have updated the rules and we can confirm this is an 18+ event so you can't join it, sorry.

Use this thread if you're looking for someone to team up with you to make a game.

If you're the project lead, make sure you include some details like what you're looking for (programmer, artist, voice actor, etc) and what type of project you want to make.

If you have a talent but you're looking for a project with an existing group or solo lead, don't forget to include what you can offer to the project.

POSTAL Jam 2 has come to an end. We are VERY proud of this community that joined forces to create amazing games with our IP.

A little surprise for the top 3 winners - We have extended the prize pool and you will ALL get contacted soon and provided with discount coupons (1st place gets a higher discount).

For the top 8, be sure to keep your projects in the itch.io page as we'll now proceed with making them permanently visible from our website soon!

We couldn't showcase all 19 entries, but we'd be happy to retweet your project as we know some of you have been working hard and still didn't make the honourable mentions. Feel free to contact us!

If you'd like to join a future POSTAL Jam, we'll see you next year!

If you haven't checked the podcast, you can see the top 5 and honorable mentions in here:

Be sure to export as an executable otherwise players need to play through the game engine.

All good, as long as we can run the game right now.

Good stuff, please update with a trailer before the cut off date to validate your entry.

Should be fine as long as it doesn't cross a line POSTAL 1 or 2 didn't cross.

Nice!

You can use assets from our games but we provide more points to projects that have more original and custom assets (that includes VAs)

Submitting two games?

It would be better to just submit the POSTAL game, that's the whole idea behind this game jam.

No problem man.

AI voice acting using real people's voices is not permitted.

Yes you can.

Yeah, no problem.

It's a gray area really, depends on what exactly is done

Anything that's in line with POSTAL 2's comedy is fine and as long as it follows itch.io's TOS.

You can definitely add Habib (judges vote higher if the 3D model and voice is created from scratch rather than recycled from our games)

Hell yeah, we loved Night of the Itching Krotch and the fact you guys went above an beyond with that entry.

Best of luck!

Drugs are fine.

Good luck!

They can be anything, FPS, TPS, RPG, etc etc. As mentioned in the main page, the theme isn't manditory but it does provide extra points for those who use it.

The entirely from scratch part doesn't include engine and some software that can be used to aid you (as long as it's properly credited of course).

Best of luck!

If you want to share details before you submit your project, this is the right place to do it.

Tell us what you're doing!

If you need some inspiration, you can check out the winners of the first POSTAL Jam: https://runningwithscissors.com/postal-jams/postal-jam-2023/

Join now and you may be immortalized in the list!

In light of the circumstances, the project has been requalified.

You were given a chance to appeal on the spot after other participants reported your comment. You're free to join the next POSTAL Jam event if you keep the rules in mind.

A member of this project broke rule 13. This project has been disqualified.

We figured some of you needed more time due to the holiday season, so these extra days should help.

Have fun!

There will be a stream where we showcase the trailers and talk a bit about them, it's gonna be a fun time.

You can use assets from our games. However, we may award more points towards other projects if they use more original assets.

Top 3 will be showcased in the first podcast episode of next year (ETA somewhere in January).

We are currently discussing some additional surprise bonuses for those who win. We'll announce those bonuses in January alongside the announcement of the winners.

Good question, the game must definitely be playable on PC (you can include extra platforms but PC is manditory).

While it doesn't need to be entirely from scratch, we reward more points in the voting to projects that have mostly or only assets created from scratch.

Alrighty, we have voted and we'll announce the winners on the first podcast episode of next year (ETA January 2024).

Since there were only two entries, we can guarantee your entry will certainly have a spot on the podcast, but we're discussing a few more surprises ;)

We can't thank you enough for participating, we can't wait to expose your awesome game to the community!
