There were some elements to this masterpiece that I didn’t quite enjoy. The main movement direction is downwards, but it is covered by the UI. Arrows deal damage even when stationary and enemies can do damage even after death… but it is still enjoyable. Good ol’ dungeon crawler; you don’t see many of these nowadays. :)
Playing this was a blast! Feels nostalgic while also having modern graphics. A lot of the mechanics feel underused or even irrelevant (crouch) and constant sprinting makes the game way too easy. But the idea and the mechanics are there and are quite well done.
This game feels like a “early-access-beta” of something epic. And some of the epicness does bleed into it. 100% deserves an update. I’d pay for the “release” version :)
I got to level 5 again, this time it was much more enjoyable. The drone swarm in combination with the slow bullets is nice. Although there still is the downside of trying to find the last enemies. The minimap helps quite a bit, but on level 5, there were “6 remaining”, but all I managed to find were unlit drones doing nothing in midair. (A quick fix maybe could be to place a timer on each stage and just move on to the next one?)
PS. I really really appreciate the effort to update. Kudos to you!
Another nice idea with good effort gone into it, and some clever details like the building climbing. But the combination of slow movement, slow damage dealing, and drones staying far and not swarming you has real stopping power. I did not have the nerves to finish wave 5. Looking forward to an update!
The game is easy to understand (big arrow!), the visuals are nice and simple, music fits in. I like that you can pass under the helicopter undetected. It’d be really nice if there was an end screen, maybe a better description on itch, and some other finish-ups.
Overall, nice, minimalistic game that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome.
