You're definitely right, and I did get some halfway decent rest :). I'll be sure to give it a share, and appreciate your kindness friend o7!

I'm glad someone else found my percussion to be neatly woven ^^. I'm still working on the side to get better at midi'ing in percussion, rather than just adding loops, so sparse (but hopefully impactful) percussion has been my aim :). In terms of 7th and 9th notes, you are *absolutely* right. I wrote down to use more 7th/9th chords (as they are my favorite) but totally forgot about them when improv'ing potential melodies ;v;. I'll note the more orchestra and faster rhythms! I definitely need some tempo changes for my next jam attempt
Ha yeah ^^”, I really had a vision for it but was burdened by sickness the whole jam. I’ll be completing this album outside and the jam, and *do* have plans for that contrasting darkness you mentioned :). Alas, telling a 4-song story with one well polished song and a partially polished one wasn’t enough, but I can’t wait to finish this album and give my full energy to the next jam. Thanks for the honest feedback, I’ll work harder >:D
Haha, yes short indeed. I’ve definitely got some favorite synths that I think fit pretty well well. In terms of your comment, I think Heaven’s Hope probably has the most connection to the theme, but being sick sucked the energy I had left to at least give my Dear Hero track a full chance to shine. I’m not entirely sure if your interpretation of the theme was at all similar to mine, but I had fun with the idea of its connection to a heroic journey. I plan to work on the album and finish it post jam, and will be sure to connect the tracks more together with a working brain now on my shoulders, haha. Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you! I appreciate the summer vibe came through. Definitely also felt I fell short of distinguishing the two tracks thanks to being pretty out of it. As I revise and finish this album post-jam, I’ll be pulling some motifs to sprinkle in, and implementing your advice. Thanks for your super helpful feedback ^^
Thank you so much for the descriptive feedback, I appreciate that so much more than you could imagine as I'm still a bit of a newbie. It gives me a much needed perspective and way to better describe to others and interpret my own music. Your comment about percussion definitely won't go unnoticed. It's a big weak spot in my skills thus far, and this just goes to show I've got to invest time into rectifying that! Thank you again ^^
The melody at 0:58 is an absolute gem. A wonderful easy-listening track that entirely reminded me of Hollow Knight before even reading your description. Just a great sound, and the mixing really gave it so much dimension. A great great great example of quality over quantity for these kinds of time crunch jams.
Memories, Freedom, and Realization really tugged on my emotions so deeply. It feels so reminiscent and heavy yet hopeful. Out of all the tracks I've listened to, I've gotta say this track matches the Freedom theme vibe I got from this jam. You need to go compose something for Kingdom of Hearts genuinely! The title theme was also a fun one, and the instrument choice was solid all around!
I absolutely love Witch Chorus and Campfire Ambience! I actually can't believe I haven't considered menu selection music, because this really gave me lowkey Diablo III vibes in such a great way. Ofc all the other comments cover the great choices throughout, but my personal favorite aspect has got to be the drums and tambourine in Witch Chorus. 11/10 stuff!
I wish I could say I was familiar with DMC, but alas I don't need to in order to appreciate the absolute rockin vibe you've got with this OST! The vocals and lyrics really blend in great with the theme, and complement the track so extremely well. If I had to give any feedback, I think maybe it could be interesting to play with the volume/dynamics of your singing more throughout.
Gosh, I can't help but deeply appreciate the absolute skill you showed in composing with your instruments. The guitar in Time to Fight Through was mesmerizing, and makes me realize just how much potential I'm losing not tapping into it. My only constructive feedback would be fine tuning the vocals in The Fight is Done in the future (but ofc this was 2-day jam). Big thumbs up!
I really appreciate that you packaged it all into one video with some sweet graphics (great friends of yours!! My favorite has to be Any Baker's Dozen because it had me feeling pumped and like some kind of mystery was awaiting to be solved, as if someone had stolen the 13th cupcake! Seriously amazing job, I love vibrant, pop-esque takes on jazz, and this hits it home.
The vibes vibe. The mix of ambient, special effects, and instrument choices made it feel like I was in a 2d pixel horror game, and I absolutely loved it! Super immersive, and I can't believe you got 5 out too! Out of them, I'd have to say falling forest is my favorite. If it started playing when I opened the game, I'd probably have to turn on the lights, haha. Amazing job :)
Thank you so much for your feedback and super kind words! I'm going to absolutely note down the things you liked so I can make them a habit ^^. Also, oh my gosh, I did not realize it uploaded out of order on sound cloud. That's embarrassing and explains why people kept saying they listened out of order, haha. Thank you so much friend!
Thank you so much! I'm glad it came across nicely even out of order. I'm happy you found "A Wall Too Tall" and "What I Deserve" specifically to be so enjoyable. In reference to 0:46 of A Wall Too Tall, I think I get what you mean. I did kinda muddle it a bit to get the quick peak and then back down to loop. I'll make sure I note that down to avoid doing in the future. Really, thank you so much for your feedback and kind words :)
Woah! Your feedback is immensely appreciated! I really hesitated to add myself humming into the song since I'm a bit mic shy ^^". It means a lot that you liked my material, the vibes, and even the humming, and actually wanted more of it. I'll be more bold in the future then! And I'll play around more with rhythm and movement in the backing parts for sure. I admittedly spent too much time redoing melodies and switching instruments that I just forgot about changing out the basic building block patterns, haha. Thank you again, you're wonderful!
Thank you! To be complimented on my soundtracks being cohesive and actually like part of the same OST is a wildly amazing comment. And you're absolutely right. I need to build up my skills more to be able to focus on increasing complexity without overthinking, so I'll note down rigidity and the need for leading notes. Thanks again :)!
In the Middle of Bubbles has got to be my most favorite incorporation of the underwater fantasy theme. I can't get over how well its instruments gave off the eeriness, largeness, and beauty of an underwater world. Bells are a wonderful instrument and the first entrance of the piano really shook me deep :). I'm cheering for your protagonist to find her answers!!
I have absolutely fallen for A Peaceful Place. It's so evocative with how you lean into the melody so uniquely with your instrument choice and volume control. Your songs definitely inspire me to better learn how to incorporate strings in my music. They're such powerful instruments, especially when used so knowledgeably. Your expertise and passion definitely shows. I'm *counting* on this making it to the eventual Apple Music album so I can enjoy it even more often while riding the train :).
That's really great feedback, thank you! Melody has always been a main focus of mine as I too love having something to hum and whistle too :D. Juggling instruments for the melody has been quite fun, but there are definitely more strategies I can take to improve that shift of what holds and spices the melody. Maybe adding new repeating elements in the background with brand new instruments alongside the shift of the melody's main instruments would be the way to go?
