Aaaa thanks!! That really means a lot to me :D
I'll most likely send a friend request over discord later and ask for details for the posters, but if I forget (I can get distracted easily lol) you can remind me or go ahead and send a friend request yourself and I'll notice! (Though itchio replies get noticed way later since I get a notification about it like.. five hours after a reply??)
Ah, I see, no problem cause looking back on it I can see how the challenge wouldn't have much sauce unless there was forced higher teacher difficulty (which could potentially make the challenge borderline impossible with even less frequent items). Though, there could be an altered version too where theres no items at all with teachers being difficult but not impossible, giving enough challenge of trying to still escape them.
As for the eraser, that's pretty fair honestly. I wouldn't say that it makes no sense for it to exist though, at least in an instant universe way. Though if not for its original purpose, perhaps there could be another use for it one day, you never know!
As for the posters, I could help with those if you'd like! I like drawing and it could prolly help with my art block if you lmk specifics and details you'd like (if you want of course).
And sure! My discord username is actually the same as itchio display, pink_zazel. (My discord display name is sin. and I'm roboto147 on reddit with the same pink_zazel. display name, in case you'd use that instead.)
Would the test finder need to be disabled along with the vending machine too or does it just not work?
And I would say the scissors/eraser being missable could work as it COULD be similar to throwing an Oreo (it too can technically be risk/reward since you could miss throwing it at Circle). But I think it working like "an apple for Baldi" could work really well.
For the green chemical, my original idea for it was to create a temporary wall to block teachers, but I felt that would give problems for the AI that already seems to like getting stuck in places?? But then again you can stand in front of them and they eventually change paths too, so I'm unsure about it. I feel like the gamble could still work somehow if maybe toned down.. OR..
Going off that poster idea, I feel it would make sense if the poster itself was put in Miss Bloomie's spawning classroom. It doesn't have to explain OUTRIGHT, it could just look like a chemical recipe where it shows items being added like "speed + health + soda = strange chemical??". Something like that anyway. To make posters not feel out of place, you gotta make them IN place.. so the health and speed chemicals (I assume they are anyway) could have something about them in Miss Bloomie's room too. Miss Circle could probably have something in her room regarding Oreos too. Posters advertising the soda in the cafeteria, etc.
But anyway, credit me if you'd like, I don't mind much.
Had a feeling about 1 and 4 lol. As for the second challenge, just the vending machine.
As for the item ideas, I had a few of them based on arts n crafts and school subjects.
Like a bottle of glue could be used to temporarily glue a teacher in place to keep them from moving.
A pair of scissors or an eraser could be used to temporarily disable a teacher's attack. (Think of it like cutting/erasing their arms off, just not visually on the models. Could have a sound cue for it instead.)
A beaker bottle filled with a green chemical that could be either super helpful or very dangerous, a luck based item to gamble with. (If it's possible anyway, I was just thinking it could copy an effect of other items or hurt you a bit.)
Well I do have suggestions but they're likely to range from possible to impossible since I'm unsure how the game is structured with its scripting and what you're able to do with it.
1: A sort of cat n mouse chase idea with a single test, a single high AI teacher that always follows the player, all exits need to be touched instead of just two.
2: Broken vending machine, the player has to rely on items spawned in the map. Items could probably have a higher spawn rate.
3: Max AI Circle, vending machines/spawned items are only Oreos
4: Patience and endurance, a test is spawned in every room possible with wrong answers only, teachers start at lowest AI and gradually increase for every test taken.
There's a lot more I could probably list since I like coming up with ideas, hell I even have ideas for items that could actually fit with the game. But as I said before, I'm unsure of the possibility.
