I'm looking for a game developer interested in collaborating on a short psychological horror game called Good Son.

Good Son is a story-driven psychological horror game about a young boy growing up with his father. The game begins with a relatively innocent, almost wholesome childhood atmosphere. The boy spends time around his home, does small tasks for his dad, and hears things like “good son” when he does what he's told.

As the game progresses, however, the atmosphere slowly changes. His father becomes increasingly unpredictable, the house begins to feel strange, and little details start suggesting that something isn't quite right. The player will explore the house, interact with objects, complete small tasks and puzzles, and gradually piece together what happened.

Eventually, the boy meets an imaginary friend who tells him that he has a brother. He's excited by this because he's always wanted a brother, and the friend claims to know where he is. This leads the player into a deeper investigation of the house and the boy.

I want the game to look like a retro ps1 horror game. I want the horror to come primarily from mystery, atmosphere, implication, environmental storytelling, and psychological tension rather than constant jumpscares, although it will have a few. Things that initially seem innocent should become unsettling once the player understands their context.

The game would be relatively short, with a strong focus on story and emotional impact. I'm aiming for the kind of horror game where the player finishes it and then thinks back on earlier scenes and realizes that certain details had a completely different meaning. I don't have money rn, but if the game grows to be pretty big im willing to give the developer most of the cut.
