Any objections to calling this initiative ITCHITRON can be submitted by carrier pigeon below.

Winnitron is an arcade cabinet with indie games on it. The computers inside are Windows based, the original oldest models run Windows 7. Inputs use the keyboard for 1 joystick and 2 buttons for up to 4 players (arrows .,) (wasd12) There is a wiki if you want more details: https://github.com/winnitron/WinnitronLauncher/wiki/Requirements-for-Winnitron-Games

Anyway, there was a Launcher that automatically downloaded approved games and apparently the network is down now and I said “why don’t we just use itch for this?” but we need a way to tag games that are compatible. I only really care about the control scheme being consistent so it works with the controls already installed on a fleet of cabinets. Obviously in 2025 we could stand to update the other stuff, run games on a Pi, etc. The core ask here is just a way to say “this will work on winnitron cabs.” In the short term, I’ll propose using a private collection but an open tag anyone can use would be neat

I’ll personally take the blame for this. While I have quite an elaborate audio/music studio, just before this jam started I was dealing with a dead computer motherboard. So instead I just used an iPad to create loops and they aren’t leveled properly in the game. I had zero way to edit down samples for sfx, so it’s just music. Next time I hope it’s all working again and I can do MUCH better work.

We’re not sure either, in the end. It definitely started in the concept art as a Humpty Dumpty game and then it got weirder. If there was more time, blah blah blah
