Hi everyone,
I just shipped the first public alpha of WhisperQuest, an AI-powered tabletop RPG you can play solo or with up to three friends. Instead of a scripted campaign, an AI game master narrates scenes, voices NPCs and reacts to whatever you do.
What’s in this alpha
- Solo adventures and hosted group sessions (up to 4 players)
- A built-in world builder to create your own settings, or play curated ones
- Persistent characters that carry over between adventures
- Full German and English UI and narrative content
- Free starter credits; optional 25-credit packs if you want longer AI sessions
Where to get it

The desktop build is a small Tauri wrapper around the web app, so the game itself runs in your browser but feels like a native app.
The honest part
This is a pre-alpha hobby project. Things will break. Worlds, characters and adventures you create today are not guaranteed to survive future updates. The macOS build is currently unsigned, so Gatekeeper will complain — you’ll need to right-click → Open the first time, or run the xattr command in the readme. Linux is tested on Ubuntu 22.04; other distros may need tweaks. Mobile is not supported in this build.
I'm not trying to sell a finished product. I'm looking for people who enjoy experimental RPG tools and don’t mind rough edges.
If you try it, feedback is genuinely welcome — either here in the comments or via the contact on the page.
Thanks for reading, Stephan
