Thanks for reporting this!

I've found that other Godot developers have experienced similar antivirus false positives with their exported games, so it might be related to the export itself.

I'll investigate the issue and try to find a solution. I'll also try to submit the game for review to Microsoft and Google so hopefully these warnings won't happen again in the future.

Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for letting me know! ❤

Edit:

Ran a few tests, the exe and dll are clean, a handful of programs are flagging some heuristic ("lazy") irregularities specifically in the .pck, which is Godot's file that contains the scripts, among other things. Windows Defender actually states clearly that it got blocked because the app might run scripts from the console, and it just so happens one script opens a link to my socials (so, the browser). That might be getting picked up as a violation and the antivirus panics.

I'm not 100% sure this is the main cause, but I'll test it over the weekend, and if it improves things I'll push a fix. Right now I've got limited access to my PC, so there's not much I can do about it at the moment.

Thanks again for pointing this out. You can safely run the game after accepting the file in Windows Defender, or just wait for the fix (if it actually helps). The bug only happens on some machines, none of my testers hit it, so it was a tricky one to catch.

Hey, I played it for a bit and had a really good time. I haven’t played many rage platformers, but this one feels really well made and creative. Even though I’m not very experienced with this type of game, I never felt like I was just repeating the same thing over and over. The difficulty felt fair too, and the game gives you some time to breathe between the harder parts (even though you still feel like something is about to slap you out of nowhere, which usually doesn’t happen, so the game keeps you tense without feeling unfair).

A few checkpoints felt a bit rough though. Maybe that’s just how this genre is, but dying after a few longer sections hurt a little, especially when you already know the earlier parts by heart and have to replay them almost automatically. Still, I enjoyed it a lot overall.

Also yeah, the main character is a chicken. Nothing we can do about that.
