Luckily, for you, you'll be able to get some behind-the-scenes.

There's something called "Sprite overlay" One sprite has one palette, while the other has one color from another.

It was my first game, so i never knew how to do sounds in GB Studio...

PLUS, im incompetent at music, still even to this day.

Friend, you truly deserve the popularity that I wish I had, too.

Despite the fact that i wont be as good as you, you inspire me!
This game is magnificent and you did wonderful!

Luckily, the build was just the First build. A next build is in the thinking phase.

Let me just say, for the record, that this (rebuilt) game of yours is super cute, and it actually inspired me to try doing something like that! I love your work and i actually wish you the super duper best!
Will play it ASAP.

Not entirely, BUT i can arrange that.

Oh right! I forgot! If your submission is for the jam: You need to use this for your game's cover art: A SEAL3 cover overlay.

Hello. I am the host of the Seal3 game jam.

What i plan to do with the entries in the game jam is to preserve the entries' links so they can be featured in the SEAL3 Expo (A little showcase i plan to make in the Godot game engine).

This jam is dedicated to the lovely creatures of Seals (and yes... elephant seals are included...) and i tend to get inspired by these past gaming expos like E3.

Are you ready? Let's bark!

- Dreaming Seal Creations

Why, yes.

But as the BB Studio page stated:

Wow, you're at it again with your spectacular skills!

Nice job, man!

To be completely honest.

I'm a complete idiot, moron, and a troglodyte when it comes to coding things from scratch.

BTW, im impressed that you made your own engine for PS2 and other consoles...

I will say, with positivity and honesty, i'm kinda jealous of your skill.

Join the 2024 one.

Yo! Jam Host, here!

I actually like the looks of this entry, i took a look at it and it actually combines PSX to PS2 and i will say; im impressed with all the entries so far, including this one.

Although, I notice you used a bit of Midjourney for this, BUT for the next PS2 Toy Box game jam that i set up today, (if you decide to make your next game for it), i guess i can give you a pass from one of the Generative rules, but i do encourage you to be a little bit careful when you use a bit of generative things, okay? :D

Once again, this one is one of the impressive entries i have seen from this jam. Keep up the great work! and I might see you in the next upcoming jam!

Hello participants.

It sure has been a while since i last posted, so here goes:

I have made this year's PS2 Toy Box Jam, for new participants and those who is still working on their game for 2023's jam.
i've added a few rules to this one just to be safe, original, and more.

BUT this will be beneficial for those who may still be working on their game from this year's jam. ;)

Thank you and enjoy.

Hello, Participants!

Ready?

Because i have extended the jam time for your submission developments!

Have fun, and you're welcome! :)

Hey!
To answer your Question;

It did calm down, yes.

I must admit:

That's pretty awesome, No lie!

I am currently Using Godot after giving up Unity due to what they're doing. So far, i got a lame, but amazing basic going:

Hey...

as you all know, Unity screwed up.

And we're paying the price for their incompetence for each download we get.

Therefore, im changing the engine part of the jam and hiding my projects made with unity.

It hurts me to say this but you should, too...

Good evening/morning/afternoon, jam participants!

As you can see, i've submitted my tech demo of DRMNLotl for the jam, to show you what a PS2-styled game can look like.

As always, feel free to use original button sprites in your UI if you don't want to use PS2 controller buttons.

I cant wait to see your submissions, too!

Have a good time!

Good day, Jam Participants.

I have a question for all of you.

What are you working on for your entry?

I would love to know, but feel free to answer.

Hey, jam participants. i got something for you. For your entry for the jam, here's a cover overlay, and an example of how to use it.

Feel free to use it for your PS2 Toy Box Jam entry!

lately, i've been busy with stuff, but im still planning the thing.

Also, im so excited to see what you all come up with for this jam!

Hello, Jam participants!
It's me, the host of the PS2 Toy Box Jam, here with a cool update!
As of right now, during the jam, I have started the process of setting up the Demo Disc for your demos!

I am researching some PS2 demo discs while planning this one.

I will keep you all updated with screenshots and more!

Thanks!

-Elias.

Any game, including 2D/sprite-based games are on the PS2.

So my answer is... YES. :D
