You are absolutely correct. The game gets stale after a bit because there is no indication of progress being made.

Sure it's fun to feel lost the first time you enter when you don't know what's around the next corner, but when you're on your 13th room you're sure you've never seen before and then find yourself right back at the beginning, it's really frustrating

The maze is way too difficult for a game jam, so much so that I'm almost certain that no one other than me has ever seen the core. When I first made it, I tried searching for it for 2 hours with a friend and we couldn't find it.

I already knew about these quirks, but you're the only one that pointed them out. Everyone else just kinda brushed over them and said the game was cool, which it is, but won't really help me make a better one next time. On the other hand, the positive comments are really motivating me to actually make another game, so it's a double edged sword.

Anyway, enough about me. Don't feel the need to respond, I've taken up enough of your time already

Thanks for the praise regarding the visuals! Care to explain you didn't like about the gameplay? I'm genuinely curious

Thanks for the kind words! Care to rate it?

You were in fact being pulled and rotated towards the core! That was necessary to make a player controller that works on a planet. Thanks for the praise, but I'm not interested in collaborating with anyone right now. See you in the next jam? :P

Thanks for playing! If the game worked for you, then you were actually playing online. If you didn't see any other players, that was because either there was no one else on the server (most likely) or you just didn't happen to run into them. The map is quite large, and even when I was testing it with 6 friends, we barely bumped into each other.

The world was created in blender. I started with a sphere, added boxes for the rooms where the floor was aligned towards the center of the planet, and the corridors where added by cutting holes into those boxes and connecting them. It was mostly done vertex by vertex, so it's about as low poly as you can get. The corridors have 5k triangles and the surface has another 20k, which is very low. Then a shader was applied to the whole thing that changes color purely based on world position.

 I'm glad you liked it.

So sorry! I had stopped the server to update it (the hardware, not the game server) and forgot to restart it. Would you be so kind as to try again?

I think this is a sign to not make a game that depends on a server for the next jam. I think multiplayer wasn't really worth it here. It's too rare, with too little benefit, and makes the experience worse in cases like these

Thank you so much! #1 in jam theme here we go! (Just kidding I know that's unlikely)

So sorry! I was super sleep deprived when playing, I can't believe I missed that

Awesome! I'm glad you liked it

I must say it looks quite interesting, but I didn't really understand anything while playing. I just started walking, went into a room with some pools, got stuck in a pipe, then mashed my keyboard until I could find the crouch button, which is C. Then I went up some stairs and the game ended.

Props for the visuals, but unless I missed something, there isn't really much to do.

Got to level 5
Music, SFX, graphics and polish are all VERY nice, really good job on that, love it. Unfortunately, the controls are a bit unsatisfying. There is very high chance that my input will be missed, and I feel like I shouldn't have to press W twice when I have the "can only move two steps at a time" anomaly. Maybe it could just move two steps at once with one keypress?
Great job overall!

Thanks a lot! Did you find the core? I have a feeling I made the maze way too big for a game jam game, but I'm proud of it and super happy someone actually played it.

This is the best game ever. Please continue making it, I will give you all my money for the next update. This is legally binding. Please contact my lawyer for further details.

P.S the game file is still 1.1 please update the file.

Thanks a lot zewaffelman!! Everyone I've seen play it has tried to go in the tunnel too. Hopefully I'll learn enough about shaders to make it happen.

Hugh.... I'm just a fellow 9 year old that likes to play automation games and has enough money to buy them but my mum won't get me them because they are time consuming apparently.

This has been going on for 2 years. can you not like update it once in 2 years?
