P.S. the level is programmed to be 5 minutes long. The game more likely needs more lol

Hey! Thank you for trying the game!
I will let you know having Mary and Medusa potentially on the same mirror is intentional. I was debating on adjusting this ahead of time, but I did decided to keep it intentional.
I do completely understand the game needing more! I did intend this to be a “Night 1” level, I did feel there was something missing, and I do hope to refine this in the future to resolve this.
Otherwise, thank you for the feedback!

Woah! Can you DM me how to replicate that on discord? I’m surprised my game engine does that! :O
Either way I’m glad you enjoyed the concept! I think learning to master the concepts is a point with these games, but I do understand. Even after I myself playtesting I found it difficult to fail, it does lose its edge. If I had more time for more levels, I think this is how I would personally intensify, the gameplay. I do however like the idea of psyching out the player with false queues when appropriate! I’m sure most people missed out on the child laugh in the mask.
I do like the other ideas too! I’ll see what can be done when I choose to adapt this game further.

Thank you for following up! I appreciate the info!
I tried to go for a gameplay style reminiscent of Five Nights At Freddy’s if you’ve played those games. I do wish I had time to add an in-game guide of some sort, but if you do wish to understand further, I believe I hinted the functionality of each enemy in the game description. Do feel free to let me know if it’s unclear though!

Awesome prototype for a puzzle game!
The only thing I think could be improved for future development is the graphical consistency. I’m personally unsure what the direction is with the graphics as the ground mirrors, ghost and humans are differently themed.
Otherwise, gameplay mechanics are great and easy to learn! Good work on it!

This idea has a lot of potential! For a first jam it’s really impressive!
I really love the foundation of the aesthetic! Especially the art style! The visuals are nearly perfect imo, and if there was more time, I would add some “jitter frames” to some objects to make them feel more alive if possible like UI and the witch customers.
I know this is mentioned in the description that audio would be developed, but this does unfortunately affect my rating. If the audio focused more on user actions, I think this could improve the audio by A LOT!
The main gameplay loop works very well! I think the only thing that could be fine tuned is timing (the mirror painting was too long and the rune carving per rune was too short lol) and being able to see the time left for the mirror. I wouldn’t worry about a mining phase honestly lol.
The only thing I think is missing is a progression system (which does affect my overall enjoyment). I think this is a very good foundation, but it would be nice if there was a way to use our gold for a game jam, even if it is a very simple purchase such as a “skills upgrade” system to buy more.
Overall, this is a really good prototype, and I would really love to see this project grow!

I enjoyed the concept! The main concept was straight to the point and I appreciated the Zelda-like dungeoneer style!. However, I felt as if the mirror used to reflect was too small. If it was a little bigger, I feel it would be more enjoyable!
Also something I was a little confused on was the red screen effect as it covered the gameplay too much. It was also a little buggy as it carried over to the home screen after game over. Can I suggest an overlay or multiply blend for future iterations of the game?

Great game concept overall! I wish you the best of luck on further development if there are plans to do so!

Hey LayFalto! Framework was awesome! Congrats on winning an award!
We ran into bugs during development since we had a chance to push the limits of Carpenter Engine. Our game should work if you do a refresh! Feel free to keep in touch with our Discord server mentioned on our itch page!
Otherwise, thank you for checking it out!
