Hey everyone! I just released the demo for Roll & Rise, a career simulator built around the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
https://rdeleon69.itch.io/roll-and-rise
What is Roll & Rise?
You start as a white belt with nothing but a gi on your back and a dream. Every week you make real decisions: which techniques to drill, which attributes to develop, which academy fits your style, and whether to enter tournaments or save your energy.
The game simulates a full BJJ training week — Monday training, Wednesday sparring, Friday strategy, Saturday tournament — and each decision compounds over time, just like in real life on the mats.

This game rewards real BJJ knowledge
This isn't a game where you click buttons and watch numbers go up. The technique system is built around actual positions, guards, passes, sweeps, and submissions. If you train BJJ, you'll recognize exactly why a Knee Slice Pass favors Strength and Cardio, or why a Lanky body type dominates from guard but struggles in takedowns.
Some players have told us the game actually changed how they think about their own training — the tradeoffs feel real because they are real.

What's in the demo?
- Full career progression from White Belt to Blue Belt
- 4 body types and 4 academies, each with distinct playstyles
- Technique tree with real BJJ positions and mechanics
- Weekly training loop with sparring, tournaments, and random events
- Tactical fight mode with live commentary
- Shop system (Açaí Boost, Physiotherapy, Private Lessons)
- Full English and Portuguese support

What I'm looking for
This is a passion project from a BJJ practitioner who also happens to be a developer. The demo is fully playable and I'm genuinely looking for feedback on:
- Does the game feel fair and balanced?
- Which part of the loop is most fun — and which drags?
- Does the Blue Belt progression feel rewarding?
- Anything that felt confusing for players who don't train BJJ?
Drop a comment here or on the itch.io page. Every piece of feedback shapes the next version. Oss! 🤙
