I don't know if I could take on admin work, but I'd definitely chip in as an editor for one! Just be sure not to host on Fandom Wiki, since that platform has some known Issues.

I think gaining the favor of Ethexae or Yakau without ever completing their personal quest might be worthy of an achievement! Or perhaps just  Ethexae, depending on how you're balancing the difficulty. I managed to auto-recruit Yakau once without even planning for it, but Ethexae starts with approval so low that I think you'd have to plan for that to happen.

Managing to complete Chapadoc's quest through alternative means might be worth an achievement as well. And maybe znantvat gb trg Mbybg gb ibgr sbe lbh, ohg gura univat vg gnxra njnl jura Rfznenv ragref gur enpr?

I'm so glad it helped! I needed a TON of guides when I played LLTQ, so it was really cool to help return the favor for this game. And it's awesome that you've made a more updated guide! :D I put a link to in the main post.

Really funny to me that both versions of the guide ended up including an engagement to Jedakka. I feel like she's the marriage option who would care the least about Zorana having to deal with all of this intrigue and drama! Just imagining a scene where Zorana is telling her about all the stuff that went down on Turn 27, and Jedakka is like ummmm okayyy (ignores her and watches Space TikTok).

To marry Kxenia -  say you have a crush on her at the beginning. Place her on your cabinet when she comes to visit with Vasily. Don't get engaged to anybody else. Towards the end of the game, you'll get the option to pursue a romance with her.

A round of applause for you! Holy shit, this is incredible.

Imagining Lukomir in this world is so funny to me. He must be absolutely humiliated.

1. The best science advisor by far is Stoyan from the Draug system, with a massive 75 skill points in science. He's an elector who starts off with a neutral opinion of Zorana, and but his favor can be lost pretty quickly, since he has a LOT of enemies. But his 75 points are so good that I can't bring myself to care. I've even had him try and assassinate me as a member of my cabinet. Just a part of his charm.

Another good choice for science advisor is Lorkas from Tharkas II, who has a respectable 60 points in science.

2. Good etiquette and first impressions do always help - but I don't think the benefits are strong enough that I'd be burning away turns in deep space. Not unless I was trying to poach one of the Myrkka I electors before Lukomir swoops in, and I was working towards a very particular set of skills.

As for 3, 4, and 5, they all have the same answer: no, not that I'm aware of.

I feel like this hint would be most useful for runs that are trying to marry Kxenia, since you can only get engaged to her way later. Naq fur qbrf tvir lbh gur yrffba ba bcrengvbaf, juvpu znxrf gur tevaq fyvtugyl rnfvre.

Oh, that is SUPER interesting! And that totally makes sense. I'll keep that in mind for whenever I'm planning future routes...!

I do plan to try and make another guide for the Turn 27 stuff, much later down the road when things are looking more settled. I made this one knowing full well it'd become out of date quickly, but I still wanted to get it out there to help anybody who was stuck and eager to try and advance the story.

(I say all of that, but there is a part of me which wants to try and optimize another route immediately, so I can include my favorite marriage candidates in the guide this time and subtly spread my propaganda... I feel like I could get Carjer or Phaere incorporated into my routing pretty easily...)

I've updated the post to indicate that the guide is now outdated.

Can I ask - was the bug in regards to  gevttrevat gur fprar ba yhzra uvfgbel? V jnf arire dhvgr fher jung V unq qbar gb trg gung npgvingrq va guvf thvqr.

Oh, then I can definitely agree on Heru II feeling very unbalanced. I think we'll be getting more payoff on their whole deal when the finale is patched into the game - you can learn a bit more about what is going on there via the epilogues. I will say, it isn't to do with the disease/bioweapon - that plague hits Heru III. It is possible to investigate further into that. But the chilly reception we get in that sector is really harsh from a gameplay POV.

The sprawling nature of the game does make planning out runs harder, and I can definitely see why you'd be frustrated by that. It also means there are a lot of variables to take into account. Which a part of me finds really fun! But there's also a part of me which is tearing my hair out because I did a run and automatically got Oletko's elector vote, but oh, I failed this crucial skill check on turn 12 - no worries, I'll just restart from turn 8 and do some new classes, but oh, now I don't auto secure his vote because one of the 100 variables behind the scenes got changed through one of my actions. Figuring out cause and effect felt a lot easier in LLTQ.

I definitely get the sense that these characters have interlocking stories, but it feels like they're interlocked in ways I'm unable to witness. They have set enemies, and a lot of them have a history together. But there's no way for me to dig into that history. I agree that I really really miss the flavor text.

Also, Rejt's son is one of my favorite romance options! Highly recommend trying to pursue him.

You don't need to invest in the stat for this to work, to be clear. I agree that there isn't much benefit to doing a 100 intrigue run, other then just seeing what happens. But I am saying that there is benefit to investigating background, which is only going to be 1 turn of your run. Again, investigate background for Chapadoc + negotiate + personal quest ends up in a very fun set of circumstances.

I suppose that is 3 actions you have to invest to get her good, but it's not as if you can get her vote via cabinet slots, so I think it's worth checking out at least once.

One final thing: obviously you are entitled to your own opinion on how much you can connect to the characters. But as somebody who did recently replay LLTQ, I will say that the scenes in that game have very economical storytelling. The interactions between characters in it are pretty brief. If you're willing to play less efficiently, this game gives you a lot more opportunity to actually get to know the characters.

I agree with your broader point - that the game heavily encourages 'optimized' runs, and that it can be a struggle to justify picking up some of the more obscure skills and quests. I'd have to respectfully disagree on some of the specifics you bring up.

For example: there are a few interactions that get locked behind having an elector's background investigated. I felt the same way you did when I first played - I would savescum to see if I could get a blackmail hook or a proposal out of the background, and revert to the old save if I got neither. But everything changed when I did my 100 Intrigue run. The primary impact seems to be flavor text, but just off the top of my head: Chapadoc unlocks an entirely new option for her quest if you go into it with her background investigated. Her usual quest tests Big Guns, which is a deeply useless skill that I've never been incentivized to pick up. Her other option is not only hilarious, but it's also solvable with a wide range of skills.

I definitely wouldn't say no to having some additional incentives to properly investigate backgrounds, though.

I also think you've written off Heru IV way too quickly - it sounds like you had a pretty bad first run with them, because 2 out of the 3 electors start off with really high approval for you. The 3rd one isn't extremely negative either. Obviously they can turn on you, like you experienced, if you make choices which anger them, but you really shouldn't write off the entire faction. Grojdana is the best advisor in the game IMO, Jade has some good stats and a quest you can auto-win with a good science advisor, and Rippling Eternity provides insight into some Heru politics.  If any faction feels a bit unfair to me, I'd say it's Heru II - I feel like I can only get Khdarr's approval if I'm planning a run around it.

In my perfect world, I do wish that the specific advisors you hired could have a wider impact on the story. There's one instance where having Sola as your advisor can give you a new choice in the main story, and I'd love more like that. I'd also love the ability to get to talk with your advisors in deep space. I've dug around this game as much as I could and I still haven't gotten my definitive answers on how Eve & Vahter knew our mom, the Branekka-Milan beef, and plenty other mini mysteries. I'd die for some more hints on that. And for some more interactions with our marriage partners!

I say in my perfect world, because, well... given the amount of choice in this game, I don't know how feasible such a thing would be. My gut says it'd be a logistical nightmare. But I do miss the one-on-one interactions you could get in LLTQ - like helping Adair catch frogs in the courtyard and talking with Charlotte when she first comes to visit.

Just to throw some ideas out there - even though we're given a lot of choice about where we assign electors in our cabinet, there are clearly some roles that they are best equipped to fill. So maybe they could have one special event based on that? Like, okay, Stoyan just got done advising me on science, and now there's a brief scene you can view in deep space where you have a chat with him, learn a bit more about his deal, and maybe gain a +5 to a stat.

There is a benefit to surviving assassination attempts rather then simply avoiding them - if you thwart them, you get to figure out who was trying to kill you and have their voting ability removed.

(Although this can also be a negative, if you've got a cabinet member who dislikes you and is trying to kill you. They still get auto-removed. I don't care if he tried to kill me, his science skill is insane, let him stayyy.)

I'm giggling at the idea of Zorana doing sword tricks for Erilotti. Blade + Invention = Zorana making some fake cat claw weapons? Erilotti would probably find it more offensive then anything else.

I'm pretty sure you need to have Kxenia in your cabinet in order to marry her, as well as indicating you had a crush on her at the start.

My Zorana is almost always in her Evening Gown for efficiency reasons, so it's a good thing that I like it!

I was surprised by how much I loved the Environment outfit. Absolute forest elf cutie vibes. The Piloting and Engineering ones are also fun.

It's ciphered using ROT13. You can use this website to decode the message: https://rot13.com/ .

I think approval penalties for Blackmail should probably be increased, yeah. Maybe if you have a high enough Deception or Intrigue stat, you can avoid some of the penalties by having the skills to 'cover your tracks' ? I like the option of having Zorana be a highly skilled blackmailer, but I do feel like I should need to earn it more then  investing a bit in Menace and having a competent Media advisor.

I never use Cautious to change my mood for assassination protection, tbh. I'm usually attempting to reset with my pet or with the baby. Usually one or both of them can get me to a mood that is safe for the turn.

A thread to discuss your thoughts on the world and cast of Galaxy Princess Zorana! If getting into secrets and lore, please use ROT13.

I really love the setting of this game - I'm not normally big into sci-fi, but this totally won me over. One of the things I'm most impressed with is how it manages to keep the world completely LGBTQ inclusive while also maintaining the drama and intrigue of political marriages. I also like how each of the different cultures we can meet have their own takes on gender, sexuality, social taboos, etc etc.

I've also grown very fond of a lot of our off-screen fiances. Those who we never get to personally interact with, but we learn about through their parents and their epilogues. Carjer, Wendell, and Phaere are my favorites.

Finally - I don't know what it means, exactly, but I've been noticing a lot of connections between Zorana and shoes. The very first lines of dialogue we get from her are about how she broke a shoe, the ending screen if you die has a shoe on it, you get a pair of shoes for you birthday...

Echoing what everybody else has said - Interaction and Emotion make the game much much easier. Interaction to try and make the best impression you can, Empathy to check your work, Menace to intimidate those who do not already love you into submission.

Gunnery has only had very niche uses for me. In general, it feels like Zorana has access to a lot more physical skills then Elodie did - which made my first few attempts at 'brawn' runs kind of difficult. I didn't know how to balance a more meatheaded Zorana.

Also, just my luck - it felt like every time I was preparing my skills so that I could beat a certain electors quest, they would end up liking me so much that they'd auto give me the vote. No, Lorkas! Stop it! I spent so many turns in wrestling class! Why would you do this to me?

I'm really glad I was able to help! :D

I've uploaded the guide to google docs, so that should be more stable.

I've changed the upload to a google doc! Hopefully that should be more stable.

A few notes before we begin:

- These are accurate as of 0.7.6, as far as I'm aware. It's very likely that this will become outdated sooner or later.  As of 0.7.13.1, my guide is now outdated. It should still work if you are playing on an older version of the game. Also - following it will still lead you to some pretty juicy plot points and new info! It just won't get you over the finish line any more. User MightBeMagic has created a guide which is accurate as of 0.7.21, which I have also included.

- Everybody has their own threshold for what counts as a spoiler. My intention is for the hints to be relatively vague, the tips to provide you with firm objectives but not tell you how to reach them, and for the guide to be a choice-by-choice walkthrough. YMMV, as with all spoiler stuff.  For extra-safety, I've even put the hints and tips into ROT13. (Not the guide - I've stored that in a google doc because of how long it is. If you're clicking on that, then I figure you want to be fully spoiled.)

Bug regarding the history feature.

It doesn't always correctly display when a choice was made. It seems to always display it correctly for big story scenes that are locked to a specific turn, but it doesn't always show up when you made a choice during a banquet or a quest.

For example: the choice to do piloting over painting here isn't indicated.

I'm going back through a completed run to try and make a guide, which is why I noticed.

The only position I've been able to make her accept is as the chancellor, which she automatically assumes she'll be getting. She has a 50 in that stat, so she definitely isn't the worst choice.

When I was engaged to Milan, I decided to ask Branekka to become my advisor - a last ditch effort, since I thought her hatred of him would cause me to be rejected. She didn't seem to have any problems with it, though. I can definitely see her overlooking her grudge against him in pursuit of power, but it could be neat if being engaged to him caused a snarky comment from her (maybe about trying to use her role as an advisor to get Zorana better taste in partners?)

Also, when we give our final speech right before the election, I wished there was an option to test some of the physical stats. I feel like having a grandmaster Military stat + good piloting could lead into a good argument of "you should vote for me because I can rule with force".

While it's functioning as intended for the most part, I have run into the error once more. Oletko's blackmail option is showing up before I've even looked at his profile. The function is working as intended for Lorkas - it's only after I look at her background that I get the blackmail option for her.

On turn 15, the sprites for my two friends aren't showing up in the video call. I had been fast forwarding through the dialogue prior to this. If I rolled back for a few dialogues, their sprites did then appear correctly.

While fending off an assassination attempt at the pool (unsuccessfully, clearly), it says that there's tools checks being made. I can't figure out what group of skills this is testing. It's very possible I'm missing something, but I think this is inconsistent language.

I see! That makes sense. Then I suppose I need to report the opposite glitch - I swear that a couple of times the blackmail would show up even without me viewing their background, then. I'll try and go double check on my save file to make sure. edit: I must have misremembered, because I can't seem to replicate it now that I'm trying to.  My mistake! edit 2: i was able to replicate the glitch! posted it in another reply so that it would ping again.

How do you manage to get Korundi to betray you? I've been trying to figure that out forever. I thought it might have to do with blackmailing her, but that option is currently bugged, so I assume it's not that.

I've reached grandmaster intrigue, so I've unlocked the mechanic where an electors background, blackmail, allies, and enemies are all automatically revealed to me.

However, when I go to the denounce screen and try and look at the dossier from there, the information doesn't show up. This is an elector who I have met before, just before I got the max intrigue. I'm not sure if this is an intentional gameplay balance (you have to meet them in person to unlock all the secrets) or an oversight.

I've also noticed that, on occasion, an elector who has a blackmail hook won't have the blackmail icon show up on the social screen. It's not a huge problem, since the icon does show up once I actually click on the elector, but it is a small visual issue that I thought I'd point out.

For the first time, I attempted to negotiate with Chapadoc *after* having her background unlocked (max intrigue is a ton of fun), and I was able to unlock a new option for her quest. For anybody who hasn't already seen it: run, don't walk! It was an absolute delight. Plus, it's a way to get her vote that doesn't need you to invest in piloting and gunnery skills.

I've noticed two issues with the dossiers/social screens.

One is when I had Yakau as my military advisor, but he was still had the "unseen" portrait. If I'm remembering correctly, he agreed to be my advisor without even asking me to do his personal quest - so maybe something in there caused the full portrait not to trigger?  EDIT: I managed to have this glitch happen again, and indeed this time I can confirm that it happened while I recruited him on approval alone.

Second, I'm in a run where I'm engaged to Kxenia and having Vasily as my concubine. All of the Vasily stuff is working perfectly - the change in our relationship status is reflected in his dossier. But there's no acknowledgement of our engagement on Kxenia's dossier. It's shown in the votes screen, though. I also don't have the ability to remove her from her cabinet position or break our engagement. If it matters, I did the villainess proposal option.
