Two People worked on our game so we'll both leave our impressions.

Neri:

Amazing visuals, smooth gameplay, i found some weird dialog parts but overall i could see someone enjoying this game, tho it's not my style.
Has lots of flavour and fits theme well.

Nice puns btw ;)

MarioMario7:

I won't repeat what my friend has already said.

I feel like the characters and dialog are done amazingly, and the visuals and sound match them to boot. Great stuff!

Neri:

Liked the visual, nice sounds, wasn't really my type tho i can see the appeal.

MarioMario7:

Not my type of game, the game could use some more types of  enemies, although the executing of the idea is very well done plus the animation and visuals are VERY well done.

Neri:

Liked the game overall, not my style, the music being on beat was a nice touch and i liked the chainsaw sounds.

Gameplay was fun but i would have liked if the lumps of fat, or whatever the yellow stuff is, where shown on the map as being punished with a bad time just cuz its my first time playing felt kinda not nice.

Loved being able to see my frevious runs as colored markers.

I would add a retry button in case i wanna stop that attempt and restart.

I was faster on the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th levels but not by much as we both dumb fucks who cant memorize speed boost positions to save our lives.

I absolutely loved the concept, very unique(seriously, how did you come up with this?? XD) The music being on beat with the heart beat was a super nice touch.

Also, I was deffo the better blood unclotter, idk what Neri was saying smh

Neri:

Let's start by staying please continue working on this game, it's super fun and i'm having so much fun testing

Given that I enjoy it so much i hope you won't  mind some constructive criticism.

I would love it if the enemies made a sound when dying but not repeated so it doesn't get annoying like a squish rather than a death screech.

The force field kinda takes from the enjoyment maybe make it a rune circle on the floor.

I love the movement and the platforms and would really enjoy a better arena but  i know time really restricted this beauty of a project hope u work more on it after game jam please keep me posted.

Btw amazing player movement animation ;) reminded me of some games i don't quite remember the name of.

The different kinds of ways to gain momentum made for some very entertaining gameplay. The upgrade system was very nicely done and the leaderboard was the cherry on top. And the music feel absolutely perfect!!!!

PLEASE CONTINUE WITH THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love some feedback on the general gameplay of the game and if you think it could be made into a more complex fun version. Could this be made into a story type game with this as the gameplay activity?

Would like thoughts and suggestions on enemy movemement, obv we didnt have time to make one and even that one is subpar but i wanna know.

How does the char movement feel and shooting with it ?

Do you like background and ui should it be a style we continue, is the glow too much for your eyes?

Did the game feel too hard/easy?  what other enemy types come to mind? Too many enemies?

Did you enjoy the asteroid? Even if they are there just for collision? Would you like to be able to destroy them and/or damage you? Are there too little/many?

The music of the game in future do you think a cozy or action vibe would fit better?

Neri:

Was a little confused about the goal of the game, its interesting and a nice platformer concept, tho i would have liked it if camera properly changed with the flip to the ceiling  and i would have liked prices for the things in shop.
I can hit some barrels more than once and some only once idk if thats intended but i found being able to hit more times more fun.

I would have really liked if time was paused while in shop.

I loved the text explanations on screen tho nice effect.

MarioMario7:

I won't repeat what my friend has already said, but I can say I like the concept, and taking into account this game is done by 2 people I'd say it was really interesting.  The camera had some trouble following the player, the text for 'Press E' was mirrored if the player was facing left, and the power bubbles clipped through the ceiling.

Neri:

Nice looking game, some transitions optimizations needed as passing though stages froze for me for a bit.

In the duck stage I would have really enjoyed if the ducks would auto pickup when riding the boat over them.

There is a wall that you can pass through in the final room with the Quack duck ;) and you can't pickup the red can when standing over it.

Fits the theme.

MarioMario7:

I liked the concept and the puzzles themselves. I think it fits the theme nicely,  however I can't help but point out a couple of issues, I won't repeat what my colleague said just now, but I'll add that the boat controls felt clunk and not intuitive but I do like the idea of rowing each paddle independently (kinda like in minecraft :D )

Finished the game out of spite. This was hard  but enjoyable i loved the look of the game, the premise and everything the pc article was a nice touch. Credits were fun ;).

Not much to give in terms of feedback other than maybe the fact it took me a long while to figure out there were monsters since the game didn't really prompt me to press c and it took me even longer, maybe im just stupid, to know to combo for buttons i didn't get the idea to wake up till a bit later.
Look amazing, gameplay fun, horror element nailed, and on theme 100% over great game from all 8 of you.

MarioMario7:
At first I had encountered a bug where my camera was stuck in a 90 degree angle and I couldn't turn. After reloading the game though, everything went smoothly.

I liked the concept of having to use 3 realms to achieve your goal and that the objective changed between levels, since I expected a repetitive gameplay loop, similar to a slenderman find the pages type game. The atmosphere felt quite scary and really fit the theme well. The work put into it deffo shows and I'd say it's amongst the nicer games in the submissions I reviewed so far.

We were a team of 2 ppl so we'll both review.
We were supposed to be 3 but the music/sound guy had irl troubles.

(1 edit)

We were supposed to have a 3rd person for sound but irl stuff came up and he couldn't participate, def would have liked to have sounds and music in game and we are looking to put them into the future.

I really liked the vibe of the game and the visuals really well put together, the door used to cross between stages have a smooth transition which i love. I would suggest a descend button for the water section like `ctrl`.

MarioMario7:
I have to mention that i ran your game on my laptop with no graphics card and I had some performance issues.

I feel like  you really nailed the theme, all the horror-like elements felt unsettling or offputting. I like the idea of the door sending you to different types of realms and my personal favourite was the perspective shift.

Also the last section felt like it dragged on for too long.

All things considering, for a solo project I really liked it.
