Songs I liked:

Main Menu: I can really see the influence Risk of Rain had on this track. I especially liked that guitar solo, just straight ear candy

Overgrown Facility: Something about the arpeggiated/delayed strings makes this track sound so good. I especially enjoyed the composition of this track.

Hunted: bro this song is beautiful i dont even have anything else to say

Trials: I’m not totally sure, but is that guitar a leitmotif from Main Menu? Besides that, this track does a great job of meshing orchestral and rock together in such a way that it doesn’t feel unnatural.

Final thoughts:

Overall, this soundtrack was a short but enjoyable experience. I think the strongest aspect of this album would have to be the composition and mixing. Both added so many elements to the music and elevated the project greatly.

First of all, I just want to convey that you perfectly captured that Silent Hill “vibe” on some of these songs in this album. I’d even go as far as to say that these tracks could fit seamlessly into the SH soundtrack without anybody batting an eye.

Tracks I liked:

I see you: Amazing sound design, really put me into the atmosphere of what the game is supposed to feel like.

On the stairs: I like the composition of this one, I get the feeling that I'm being chased.

Altar: This one reminds me of a game called, “Signalis”. The faint ambience and occasional notes give this track a lot of character. My favorite track.

The bathroom: Wow. This one made me feel a handful of emotions, one of which was predominant; dread. The sound design for this track was nothing short of amazing.

Una noche mágica: I really like those synths lol

Burned: I’m gonna sound like a broken record but again, the sound design is really something you should be proud of. This is near, if not at, professional levels of music production.

Inundación: This one had a very ethereal vibe

Its time to leave: This track was perfect as the last. It communicates the idea of an end to a great degree. Idk if the instrument in the background is a choir or a synth, but it fit really well into the music.

Final thoughts:

Following the story of the game along with the music, I can say that you did a great job of representing emotion through music. Your music production was probably the strongest suit of this OST and it made for a great listening experience.

Songs I liked:

Aching Resolve - Song is perfect for what it is trying to convey in verbatim; a grand adventure.

Peculiar - Love that sound design

Rotting Wasteyard - This track isn’t too complicated in terms of composition but I think that’s what makes it perfect for this track. This would be the exact song I would imagine playing in a wasteland zone.

Rotting Treasures! - This one is my favorite so far. The composition is amazing and the instruments work together really well. Sounds like some sort of fight or battle theme.

Land of Opportunities - I mean this in the best way possible, but this track reminds me a lot of Undertale and Omori’s soundtracks respectively. Definitely overtakes Rotting Treasures as my favorite.

Jumble of Skills - This one stood out to me a lot. I wasn’t expecting the song to develop how it did.

Vapor Crave - Really liked the production for this one

Cure for the World! - I really fw the “imperial” vibe this song gives off, the snare drums play a huge role in that.

A… Ruthful Storm!! - Love the jazzy atmosphere of the song along with the synths. It feels like an infusion of jazz and electronic music.

Rocket Sprint - I like the vocals near the end

Lowkey Evil - This one stood out to me because of how energetic and fast-paced it was. The composition was also amazing

One True Saviour - Really creative use of a sample, it fits the atmosphere of the song perfectly

TUPoD, BFtWoT - Setting aside the descriptive title, the song itself did a good job at telling giving me the feeling that something has gone wrong, or that a turning point in the game has happened.

Bye Bye, Forever - This one gives off a very ethereal/ephemeral feeling that I really appreciate

After reading the doc:

I can’t help but say that the songs completely fit the story and what I would be imagining in those scenarios. The OST adds a lot of “character” to the story that wouldn’t have been there otherwise. Went back to a lot of the songs and noticed the leitmotifs, which was also a nice touch. The ending with Matrix coming with that excuse and finally explaining why “Trip to Tahiti” is in the title was great as well.

Overall, what I found to be this OST’s strongest point was its sound quality/selection. After having understood the story behind this album, this would definitely be a game I’d play if it were real. The soundtrack would only elevate the gameplay, of course. The artwork, music, and the story made it very prevalent to me that a lot of passion was put into this project. I also really liked every track based in the Backwaters. Especially Overripe and Crestfallen.

Thanks
