Sure, I plan to add more characters over time. I can bump Grandma to the top of the list.

Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the idea of "winning," I feel the game lacks a clear objective or incentive to keep playing. I didn’t have much time to work on the project, so I mainly focused on polishing it, and even then, I wasn’t able to fix all the issues that came up during production. I’m happy with the result, but I wish the game had a clear end goal. In its current state, it’s just about playing endlessly or until you run out of cookies.

Hello, itch community!
Today I’m launching the Pixel Heroes Bundle, a package that will grow over time: the goal is to gather pixel-art characters you can follow and use in your projects. We start with two characters: Pixel Retired Hero and Pixel Hero

What’s included in this release (v1.0 — 21/08/2025):

Pixel Hero

Pixel Retired Hero

Why a bundle?
I want to build a living collection of characters , regular updates, new styles and sets that work well together. The idea is: add the bundle to your project, and as I create new characters I’ll update the bundle so everything keeps a consistent aesthetic.

I’d love your feedback!
If you test the characters in a mockup, send a screenshot or GIF — I love seeing what people make with them. Suggestions for new characters/themes are very welcome (e.g.: mage, android, archer, animal companion, etc.).

Support / purchase / wishlist

  • If you like it, add to the wishlist or grab the bundle. That helps a lot.

  • If preferred, I can offer “pay-what-you-want” options or discounted packs for indie devs — let me know what you’d like.

Changelog (v1.0 — 21/08/2025)

  • Bundle launch with: Pixel Retired Hero and Pixel Hero.

Thanks! — Gabs / Purple Cat Game Studio

Nice

Hi! Thank you so much for your interest, and YES, I’ve been working on melee combat animations like jab, cross punch, and a combat idle stance. They’ll be included in an upcoming update soon!

I’d love to see in a future update is a stun effect, maybe with a few variations (like stars, shock, dizziness, etc). It would really complement the rest of the VFX collection.

wow this is so cool, it has a lot of really useful effects and the paid version is also really worth it!

This acid pool is really cool, but the iron barrel doesn't fit my project, could you add variations of it, in different containers and even on the floor?

Yes, this plugin can absolutely do that! You just need to add the PurpleCat_CustomOptionWindow plugin and set the "Show Always Dash" opt (or any other option) to OFF (false). That will completely remove it from the options menu. Let me know if you need help setting it up!

Hi! I'm really interested in buying your pack, but unfortunately, it says that my country's currency isn't accepted. Is there any alternative way for me to purchase it? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Ok, thanks so much

Hello, could you let me know if these sounds are original? And could I use them in my commercial project?

Mano... que jogo PICA, literalmente!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my work! Happy game dev!

Good idea, there are some improvements we would like to make but unfortunately we didn't have enough time. This suggestion will definitely be in the game update after the jam ends, when we will post the stable version of the game. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for the feedback. It's really a shame that we didn't have time to add the sounds to the game. We had already created all the SFX and chosen a really cool soundtrack, but unfortunately, it was very last minute, and as always, some errors occurred while making the final build, so we didn't have time to include the sounds.

Awsome!
