I've updated the GNU/Linux archive, it now contains both the 32bits and 64bits binary, and should work fine on your operating system.

The game is released in 64 bits.

I can most likely compile it for 32 bits GNU/Linux systems, and I'll happily do it, but it will take a few days (I don't have access to my dev environment at the moment). Sorry about that, I'll let you know when it's done.

Thanks for the report!

If I'm not mistaken, the bug could only happen if you did not take the USB stick *and* exited/restarted the game while in the second room. Anyway, it should be fixed in the latest uploaded version.

Thanks again!

Yes, sorry, I should probably add the link somewhere on Itch.io (it's on the official website):

I'm happy to announce a new game coming in 2022 called Superfluous Returnz!

Superfluous Returnz

The action takes place in Fochougny, a very quiet French village where billionaire Harpagon Lonion resides. He regularly disguises himself as Superfluous, a very useless superhero in such a peaceful countryside ...

Helped by his assistant Sophie, who tries to somehow temper the enthusiasm of his employer, he will try to apprehend the mysterious apple thief who is terrorizing the orchards of Fochougny ...

  • Can you identify this offender?
  • Will you finally discover a criminal of your caliber?
  • Will you find him in this charming village?

Features

  • Immerse yourself in a colorful universe in the style of a 2D cartoon
  • Wander quietly through the village of Fochougny, an open world
  • Solve puzzles, pick up items, combine them, talk to people from Fochougny to try to figure out what happened
  • Play with the mouse in the best tradition of point-and-click games, or choose gamepad or keyboard controls
  • Enjoy finely cut dialogues and omnipresent humor (the quality of the jokes is non-contractual)
  • Relax playing a game where you can't lose, die or get stuck (but where you can to tear your hair trying to solve some puzzles - hair implants are not provided)
  • Text dialogues available in English and French

A documented one-person game

I'm doing the whole game on my own: writing, drawing, animating, composing the music and of course programming. I figured it'd be nice to write a blog to document what I'm doing, how I'm working, explain all of the technical aspects through a series of "making-ofs" and tutorials.

For example, on path finding ...

... on walk animations ...

... or on writing riddles:

I also explain how I write the musical themes, how I handle assets, etc.

Some images are in French, because that's my native tongue and the original language of the game (and thus the blog started as French only), but it's being translated to English and I intend to write the blog and the game in both languages from now on.

The development started slow as I was working on it during my free time only, but I'm now working full time on it, so it should be released next year (not sure about the exact date, though).

Thanks for you attention, I hope you'll like this (silly) adventure when it's finally released!
