Alex & The Couch of Destiny: https://psme.itch.io/psme-demo

The concept: games about real people as gifts. You answer a 5-minute chat about someone — their nemesis, their catchphrase, the joke only their family gets — and the engine generates a personalized retro quest: dialogue, puzzles, item-crafting, boss fights, all built from their actual life. This demo stars my friend Alex and the couch he refuses to leave.

Two build notes that might interest people here:

AI can't draw pixel art. I tried three times to get an LLM to freehand 24×24 scenes. Mud, every time — even with a self-judging redraw loop. What finally worked: I hand-drew a library of 34 verified subject sprites, plus 4 sky gradients, 4 grounds, and a free accent-color swap. The AI composes — picks and styles, never draws. Thousands of combinations, all guaranteed to read. Choosing from a menu is reliable; generating pixels is not (yet).

The whole thing runs on $0 infrastructure. One Google Apps Script, no servers, no database. Each game ships as a single self-contained HTML file that works offline. Constraints are a feature: it forced a tiny engine (~160×144 logical canvas, GameBoy rules).

Would love feedback on the demo — especially the boss fights and whether the "about a real person" concept lands. Happy to answer anything about the pipeline.
