I realized I forgot to let you know, the updated UE5.6 version has actually been available for a few days already. It doesn’t just restore compatibility with UE5.6 it also includes several additional fixes and improvements.

I’ll publish detailed patch notes soon.

Just to clarify : this update will be for the Metahuman v1 setup (the pre-5.6 version). As for Metahuman v2, I’m currently working on it, but it’s not ready yet. Thanks for your patience !

Hi ! Thanks a lot for your message, and sorry for the late reply. I’ll definitely consider offering a mini version that includes only the base textures without the genital parts. It could be useful for workflows like yours in Marvelous Designer. I’ll think about adding this option in a future update.

Hi! Apologies for the delay, I had postponed my reply and it slipped my mind afterwards.

Regarding the skin tone adjustments: I'm actively working on it, but it's a very complex process. Metahuman relies on a baked texture system, and there's no documentation from Epic, so I have to reverse-engineer the whole thing.

Right now, I'm focusing on skin tone matching for Metahuman versions 5.5 and earlier. I’m trying to find a workaround for better genital skin tone matching, and I hope to provide at least a partial solution in the coming weeks.

With UE 5.6, Metahuman changed significantly, it’s like a version 2, and it’s not compatible at all with previous versions. Supporting 5.6 will require a separate solution later on.

No, it's actually allowed. Epic only restricts NSFW content on their own platforms (like the Epic Games Store or Marketplace), but you can totally use Metahumans in adult projects. So nothing against the TOS 😉

Genitals + clothing :

There are several ways to handle this.

You can either hide the genital skeletal mesh using SetHiddenInGame(true), or temporarily switch the material to a fully transparent one when clothing is equipped.

Another option is to swap back to the default MetaHuman body.

I've just added two shortcut options to handle this directly:

This will be included in the next update, once I've verified everything works smoothly and doesn't cause any issues.


Swapping character / head / morphs :

The body is fully compatible with MetaHuman, and swapping the head works fine out of the box.

You can use different MetaHuman presets (slim, tall, heavy, etc.), but keep in mind that for now, the genitals are fully aligned only with the standard MetaHuman body, meaning average build and white skin tone.

I do plan to make this easier in the future, with better support for all body shapes and skin tones.

The FBX animation files (CharactersAndAnimations_FBX_Files.zip) are now available, sorry again for making the process harder than it should’ve been.

I’ll also be doing a full cleanup of the project and running tests to make sure this doesn’t cause any more issues going forward.

I've tested everything on a clean UE5 project to ensure everything works smoothly now.
