Too bad you don't have a web build but this is what game jams are for, to gain experience and to improve for future projects.

I've gone through the same things and learned pretty quickly that I should make my games accessible to most players. Instead of creating many different builds for Windows, Linux, Mac, etc and also deal with people (like myself) who don't like to download and run unknown software.. just make a web build so everyone can play and in the process save a lot of time and effort not having to deal with different builds and related bugs.

Good luck.

Played, rated & commented 😊

Interesting idea and a good start for a game,.. as others have mentioned it needs some more mechanics and polish to make it more challenging and fun.

Good job for such short game jam 👍

Dudes.. I'm not even gonna bother typing anything... except 5/5 in all categories.. well done! 👌

Fun puzzle game that reminded me a little of Pac Man..  the controls felt good and nice that you added in game tutorial, volume controls and level select menu.. The only thing I missed was a button to progress to next level, instead of having to click to level select menu, scroll, click...

Well done for such a short game jam 👍

Awesome retro style with nice animations and effects. The controls felt good and the game was fun. Only thing I missed was being able to restart the level with the keyboard that I'm using to play, so had to move hand to mouse, click, etc.. Not a big issue but would be a nice QoL change. Also kudos on adding in game tutorial 😊

Well done for such a short game jam 👍

Clever platform puzzle game. Controls felt good and levels were fun.

Well done for such short jam 👍

Love the style! Great start for a fun game.

One thing I missed was checkpoints along the way, in a visual way that is so I don't sit and think dang if I die I have to start over 😅

Well done for such short game jam 👍

Glad you enjoyed it for a while 🥰

Cheers, glad you liked it 🥰

Hmm. so the game's timing system would be differently for someone on an older computer (i.e. 60 fps) vs someone on newer computer (400 fps)?

Cheers, glad you liked it 🥰

I used to have something like 20-30 games on Itch.io, but unfortunately all are deleted. Only thing I have left are some short videos and screenshots 😅

Thank you for playing and for your feedback 🥰

Glad you enjoyed it 🥰 I can understand why most people used it as a timer, it's the first thing that comes to mind I guess 😅⏱️

Thanks for playing 🥰

Thanks for playing 🥰 It's a new account, but not my first game or game jam.

Adding swipe wouldn't be a problem.

Turning this into a full game, with 100 or so levels, saving/loading data, monetization, advertising, etc.. in other words spending hundreds of hours to end up getting 15 downloads is what turns me off. The mobile market is pretty horrible.

If you get a list of games you have not rated, what is stopping you from choosing which one to play next? Pick the one that looks most interesting.. or don't, just saying.. 😅

You can go to the submissions page and click "Haven't rated" in the filter on the left side.

Thanks for a great game jam, the theme was challenging and fun.. I like that you didn't have too strict rules (like locking the uploads after submission ends) making this game jam chill and fun, even friendly to first time jammers 🥰

One suggestion I have is to change the music category to audio for upcoming game jams so that it includes all game audio, both music and sound effects. For example, in my puzzle game I chose not to include music because I didn't want to clutter the audio space as I felt the sound effects would be enough to give the player experience I was aiming for. It would have been nice to know what everyone thought about the game audio but if people judge only by music then my score in that category should be 0 and I have no easy way of knowing what the players thought about the sound effects.

Thanks.

Thanks for playing & glad you enjoyed it 🥰 The music category should have been audio imho.

Cheers, glad you enjoyed it 🥰

I just played, rated and commented you game.

I made it to this level, but couldn't get further because I couldn't jump high enough to not die at the spikes on the next platform. How are you supposed to finish this level?

Cool platformer game, I like the art and game play is fun even though it gets really difficult early on. Here are some thoughts I had when playing..

  • The fall seems somewhat slow, which also makes falling to your death take a long time
  • Using mouse click for dash when everything else is keyboard feels out of place

I finished a few levels then I got to level where it seemed impossible (at least to me) to finish the level as it required me to jump higher than spikes in my way, which I had no clue how to do. I'll post a pic on your forum post.

About the resolution, it's better to set the initial resolution to something like 1280x720 (check my game) instead of 1920x1080 or so and allow the players to maximize the game instead.

Anyways, good job for such short game jam 👍

I think this could be a decent mobile game if turned into a full game.

Would love to try it, but not a big fan of downloading unknown files to my computer. Let me know if you add a WebGL build, I'll try it then.

Cute story/quest driven game, not sure why everyone is so rude though 😅

Well done for such a short game jam 👍

Very creative game. I like how you have the 3 different phases to build, collect and fight.

Well done for such a short game jam 👍

Cool shooting game and mechanics. Like others have mentioned, one thing I would change is how the player moves, I think you could get a lot more precision if you were not moving the player with forces. At the same time I can understand why you went that route, it's a lot easier to use forces when pushing objects 😅

Well done for such a short game jam 👍

This was a cool fast paced shooting game with a great retro feel and look. Well done for such a short game jam 👍

Cool game with some nice mechanics.

A suggestion if I may,.. when adding mouse movement control, always add a sensitivity option. In my case, I couldn't control the camera very well as it would spin way too fast and with the very limited time I had to finish each level, I felt a big portion was going towards just fixing the camera.

Well done for such short game jam 👍

Hopefully I have learned to keep things simple 😅 Thanks for playing 🥰

Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed the game 🥰
