Have you considered downloading to your PC first and then transferring to your phone/tablet?  

The other thing is, have you checked which memory and directory you are downloading to?  Because the onboard phone memory is pretty limited and you can change the download location to a microSD card if your phone/tablet supports it.

The typical fabric used in dakimakuras is usually a variant of 2way Tricot (which is itself a type of spandex).  The most popular fabric variants in Japan at the moment are Lyctron (exclusively from A&J) and Aqua Veil (a slightly cheaper variant of Lyctron but slightly more durable from my experience).

As for the price, I think 75 USD would be reasonable for a 160cm x 50cm dakimakura.  There's a site called Dakimakuri that partners with various artists and makes and sells the dakimakuras if you're interested.

Development delays happen and are perfectly normal.  I'm a software engineer and my projects only get delayed whenever the stakeholders flake out and don't get back to me in a timely manner despite my prodding them via email with our managers CC-ed.
