Amazing first game! Super charming art style!

Amazing first game! Overall, an enjoyable experience, I had fun playing through it, and thought the art style was very charming. My only gripe is that there is no cooldown between shot's so the meta revolves around how fast you can click

I played void runner and I thought the movement was super fun! I mostly found myself running around the map. I would've loved to have seen the combat lean into the movement a little bit more.

I played your game and I thought it was gorgeous! This game has so much potential for an amazing story to be told through it. Really reminded me of Outer Wilds.

Just reviewed your game, it was great and super fun! Awesome short and sweet experience

Very fun game! Loved it! It lowkey felt like playing Mario Party, and I liked how each place had a unique game mechanic. Sure, the game is a bit rough around the edges; the winning asteroid in the asteroid level glitches through the ground at times, and the WASD? level was significantly harder than all the other levels, but otherwise the game was short and sweet and overall very fun!

Just rated! Cool concept, very hard game.

Difficult! Interesting concept, but I found the parkour very tedious. I was wondering throughout if this was meant to be a rage game, after spending 10 minutes getting the platforming with the robot, it was my time to do the platforming (I will note the lights turning off and colors changing were sick and well done), only to have a block drop in front of me, causing me to fall to my death.  I then spent another 5 minutes trying to get back to where I was beforehand because the entire game resets (except for the lighting, which bugged and stayed off), and I tried everything to get around the same block, only to keep repeatedly dying. I don't know if I'm merely bad at games or if there is genuinely no way to get around the block, but with how punishing deaths are and how hard (rather tedious) the game already is, that particular jump with the block blocking your way felt very punishing. Otherwise good concept and game.

This is what a 5-star visual experience is meant to look like. The visuals were stunning, and the concept is straight from Outer Wilds. It's a shame the game didn't have more content/narrative beats. I was able to find a tree to plant, but nowhere to plant it in, I was also able to determine I was thirsty and needed to get some sort of currency to get myself a drink, but yet again found myself unable to find where to get the currency from.  The spaceship controls were super intuitive, though, and it was amazing to use. The movement in person (once you land)  is also really good. This game has so much potential, and if developed right with a good narrative, it could be such a great game.

The whip goes around 45 degrees more to the right than you would intend. I also almost completely missed the fact that there were other areas in the game. It took me around 10 minutes of wandering along the first area to find the light that led to the forest, and the light itself I believed was a bug at first. That is all to say that there should be a bit more indication for new areas in the game. Still, the concept was good, and I'd love to see this idea fleshed out. It reminded me of the first stage of Spore combined with a Metroidvania. It's a fun concept, and I think it has potential.

Aww thank you man!

BEST MOVEMENT EVER! No, seriously, the movement was incredibly fun. I found the combat to be finicky, and I was able to survive for a decent amount of time by just running. I don't believe I actively engaged in combat once, and I still somehow killed 66 enemies (presumably through the cold aura thingy?). I was also unable to retry or submit my score since my mouse just disappeared after dying, but otherwise a really fun game. The movement is definitely the most fun aspect, and I'd love to see a more fleshed out version that leans into that a bit more.

Agreed! For ours, we took a non-literal interpretation of the theme and used word play to still follow the theme closely. I hope you enjoy the concept --> https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312656

I gotchu! I just left a review, great game, good fun, loved the concept!

Fun game! The gameplay got a bit repetitive, and I would've loved to see more changes beyond the reversed gravity, but otherwise it was fun.

Hey, here's my game if anyone wants to rate it ---> https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312656

Otherwise

Post your games, and I'll rate them!

I played through a bit of the game and I found it to be amazing with some great puzzles. I really liked the idea of the environment changing around you as well as, by extension, the ways in which you traverse them. I think this is a good example of what a 5-star take on the theme looks like. Great game!

Trying to rate as many as I can whilst still in finals week. Here is ours! https://poncho-codes.itch.io/mr-strange-places-cake

Probably the definition of strange places. Super well executed interpretation of the theme, but I was left a bit unsure of whether I was at the end of the game once I fell into the backrooms.

I can't rate it because I'm stuck on the first piece of dialogue. I can't move to the next dialogueeven after pressing (web version)

Yooo, here is ours! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312656

We've fixed the UI!

Agreed! We've been working on patching bugs and canvas scaling has been a huge grievance we've had. We're working on getting a smaller web version out and in the meantime we've put out a windows build that run's pretty well (although again we have to refine the UI a bit more). We've not slept in the past 30 hours so we'll take a short break, but we'll try to get a smaller web version ASAP! (Although in the meantime, zooming out on your web browser seems to do a good job)

How big is his friends house?! No, but in all seriousness the game was pretty fun, I liked the combat and shooting and the enemies were fun. With a little bit more polish and content the game would be amazing. Allowing you to shoot as you are reloading (the bullets that you've already reloaded since it is a revolver) would be a good addition and adding in more enemies in the first few levels + maybe more stuff to find apart from medkits and bullets. I also think if an enemy horde spawns the room should get locked since it was pretty easy to just run away and dodge them.  I thought the animations in the first few levels were pretty sick, though. Congrats on the fun game.

Sii unas disculpas con esa trancision, la verdad es que la meti en ultimo momento entonces no tuve mucho tiempo para polish, me alegra que te halla gustado el juego!

Gracias!

Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it!

Hey man the game looked pretty sick, the visuals are cute and the dialogue on taking too long was funny. I thought the game concept was good it's just that I think something might be wrong with the build settings since I spawned in what seems to be the final room straight away and could not access the rest of the game. Overall the concept was good though, cheers!

GIVE THIS GAME A TRY! When I first saw it I won't lie, I completely judged it off of the cover and the fact it was made in scratch and figured it would barely run. This game perfectly encapsulates the theme of power and the animations are SOOO SMOOTH as is the combat, if the dummy actually fought back it would be amazing but the art and theme are on point. My jaw actually dropped as I played it; 10/10 Art direction and 11/10 on theme.

Just wondering who else participated in the last Jam

2.5/5
I liked the sound effects on the game and the minimalistic art style looked good, however, the gameplay quickly gets repetitive due to the fact there is pretty much no difficulty curve (At least not that I was able to notice) additionally there really wasn't a lot of motivation to keep playing as there is no score or anything to track how long you have played leading the player to quickly lose motivation (especially combined with the difficulty curve issue)

It's a nice little game and quite fun at first, however, it very quickly gets boring due to the fact its incredibly easy, Maybe consider buffing the enemies a lot more, so you have to spend multiple tries getting good instead of completing (Seeing all of the enemies) in your first attempt

Would you mind playing my submission for the next stream, I feel like it has good content material https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2022/rate/1591765

Please rate my game, I would really apreciate it https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2022/rate/1591765
