Its an honor to be able to read all of this and get even a fraction of your experience in Argentina : )) you've done an excellent job with the lighting of this scene, along with the textures.

I almost wish there was a way to walk through it and take everything in. Thanks for being apart of the jam, your piece is a lovely sight :))

Please keep doing what you're doing! NGL, I didn't even attempt something like this until like, year 1 or 2 into blender, and even then haven't touched making a big terrain like this.

If you're able to do this now and not give up, you'll be making just about anything you can think of soon enough!

With all that said, the materials on the monolith and characters are rad. And you rendered this in eevee too : 0 ? going through your blend file is fun, thanks for sharing everything and being a good part of this jam!

When you finish the texturing I'd be interested in seeing it : ) I think the composition on all pictures is well done, as is the lighting. Are you using a picture/world material for the background, or did you model that as well

I haven't used Maya before so I can't say how you'd do it, but the only thing i'd criticize is the lettering not hugging to the blue suitcase! That, and it saying "Jorney" instead of "Journey", but I thought that was charming X) so I like it personally heheh

Woah how did u make that grass : 0? it looks pretty cool, along with the rest of everything else lol

I was gonna say I like the bridge, van, and grass material especially... but thats nearly everything! Safe to say your material skills are impressive, and your concepts a joy too. My friend loves Miku so I'll be sharing this to her

I'd be interested in the game, Ken1King a real one for helping ya out! Liking how even with their fairly simple body designs, they all are a little unique in their own way with different mouth & eye proportions/placements. Supa rad

Diabolical (but moving), never heard a story like that, or Sicilian culture for that matter. A very inventive concept for the theme, and I'm always a fan of learning history through art. This is a lovely combination of the two : )

As someone who has traveled purely **only** to be among friends as escapism from the stress of family, I am personally fond of this one. The first picture is really cute, and does just feel like a group of friends hanging out :,)

As for critic, I don't have too much to say unless you had something in mind you wanted to improve! Apart of me could say something about the glossiness of their textures, but I feel like in this context it adds to the scene making it feel light a bright sunny day : )

Maybe I'd play with the normals of the grass roots so they'd blend into the rest of the land, or have a seamless grid grass texture (maybe something like out of MySims?)

But I like what you've made, it's as if its apart of a bigger story which is always a good sign of something great : ) Happy you made this and are apart of this jam!

Oh and also, haven't heard of ucupaint before. Thanks for mentioning it during your process!

We might have a winner here, after going through all your devlogs I got a lot of respect for you AND your laptop 😅seriously, to be able to render all of this after constant crashes is pretty impressive.

Even without that aspect, this piece is very cohesive and I think you captured the painterly effect very wonderfully. Taught me a couple things too while going through your process, so I have to thank you for that!

Can't wait to see what you cook up in future jams, as I look forward to it!

Dang! Y'all really went all out : 0 personally, I'm more impressed with the designs for the characters you cooked up to represent y'all throughout these times. Juggling so much and still managing to create compelling shapes and colors within them!

They appear to me to have more cohesion with their colors than the landscapes, so I wish we could see them a bit more in the images y'all have submitted-- but consider it a good thing I wish to see more of what y'all done!

I hope you continue to be apart of these jams cause you got some good management of time, skill, and creativity to pull off this globe concept : ) which, i'll also say, is super fun!

Dang all of this within 8 hours is killer! The pigeon character also has charm to them, which, I feel like is kinda hard to do when making something quick!
I feel like I'm gonna reference "Gurmy Wurmy" at some point, and have already saved the gif of your pigeon on discord lol.

There is a lot to like about this one and I'm happy you got inspired enough to make this : ) happy to have you as apart of the jam!

Thank you mighty kindly !

I like the illussion of trees, with the build up past the game it feels like the forest is endless. Got good composition too : ))

Cute colors and shapes : ))

Ha! Good humor behind this one, and good textures. I like what you've done with, I'm assuming the composition to get the posterization effect on the umbrella. Your piece has a lot of cohesion as well,so consider me a fan : ))

Such a cute little scene, I like the atmosphere you've built! very cozy

You sold me with the sitting, then pulling the sunglasses down lol

Y'know I'm not too big of a Sonic-head but I kinda got those vibes at first glance! Did a swell job with the modeling : 0 its kinda amazing to me since I don't do too much hard-model stuff. Well done, I like it

Cute! I like this concept, its a creative take on the theme of traveling. Happy to have ya as apart of the jam!

Im curious as to what inspired this, the animation feels very special like it has something to tell : )

Neat lil' robot designs, and the concepts super fun : )) also very fascinated by the ocean texture, I'll have to try something like that sometime!

(1 edit)

Very fond of any submission with a good piece of love behind it <3 : )

Wallpaper worthy, reminds me of my partner playing well made indie titles. I like the planets in the background, really pulls the whole moons lake bed together 👍

This might be my fav one out of all the submissions, is this for a game or story you're cooking up?

love it, thank you for the rotund man

Idk how some of you guys pull of such feats of skill in so little time-- your time management skills are off the charts : )) I really like the winding vines up the columns and spectral deer. its these micro details that make this piece feel like a living world 🙌

I'd love to know how you managed to make such breathtaking glass visuals for the fox : 0 I got no words this is incredible! So many inspiring pieces in this jam

First job in blender?? I'd assume you'd be a bit more seasoned than that : 0 wonderful job! The colors feel so lively, which in my opinion, is a little hard to do : ) the shapes you used are very lovely as well

Folks who make anything in blender that's glass and beautiful never cease to impress me, as i've yet to master making it as lovely with its colors as this. Well done : ))

The night all the submissions window was just about closed a couple of friends and I were going through what was sent so far, and yours was one we all really liked : )) Think I said something like "I don't know how they did all this in 4 hours, thats really impressive" This submissions super charming, love all the little guys here. Happy to have you as apart of the jam :))

Phenomenal! I like to seeing your inspirations, and the approach you had to this with your different softwares is really interesting to me : )) All around- beautiful piece, good concept, wonderful result!

I like what you've done with the concept, the log really pulls everything together : )

Y'can tell this guys a lil stinker, good job! Well done : )

Noice!

I'm impressed by the lighting you did for the scene :0 this really feels like coming home to an after school project. Noice!

Cool animation and impressive time management! I haven't worked enough with shape keys, but I hope to/am inspired by what you've made here in such a short amount of time :0 happy to have you apart of the jam, this is awesome!

I believe you captured the childhood emotions in your art perfectly! This reminds me of sitting in front of my grandma's TV playing PBS Kids. Keep up creating! This is hype :))

NGL yours feels like it perfectly encapsulated the theme of this jam lol, I was looking through all the submissions last night with friends. Getting to yours I went "oh this is really good" and my buds agreed. You did a super good job on this, happy o have you apart of the jam!

Your concept might be one of the more unique concepts in the jam. Miniature ship-in-a-bottle art is a creative and really fun take on the hand crafted theme, I really like it! Well done :))

Man, see I wish mine was as artistically cohesive as this, you did a phenomenal job on texturing! Really well done, and I enjoy the emotions behind this : )) I'll be looking at this piece as texture inspiration for quite some time, thanks for being apart of the jam! So hype :))

This feels like a dreams-cape when looking at this. A little mesmerizing, you got your style down like crazy! Love the look of this, good job : ))
