I tried the web version but couldn't seem to move with either WASD or the arrow keys. It looks really cool and the multiple endings sounds intriguing I just couldn't get past the first bit!

Nevermind, I reloaded and it was fine! Not sure what happened there!

Thank you!

Thank you! I will be spending more time on balance for sure, a few things need tweaking, I'm sure you can win if you just pick up more streams as well!

Thank you! Yeah the balance is a little all over the place, I didn't put a cap on attack speed and it scales quickly so it is probably the most powerful stat. That plus getting 2 or 3 streams will clear anything at the moment.

Thank you for the nice comment, I definitely fell into the trap where a developer finds their own game too easy and need to work on the balancing!

I'm glad you got it sorted, it was  a fun experience! I could really see potential to expand with different types of magic or lots of other things!

Thank you taking the time to write such detailed feedback! You are totally right about it being unfair that the fire continues to spread whilst you read the instructions. I do plan to delay the fire for a couple of seconds, give you a chance to read! It does spread too fast I think. I need to work on the part that spreads the fire, I have an idea to slow the spread as you fight it to give you more of a chance if you hold your ground. More applicable on the later levels when the amount of fire allowed before a game over is higher.

The animation is a shader that is manipulating the vertexes of the sprite. With this project I wanted to test out some recent learning I have done with shader code so most of the effects are using shaders. I do intend to introduce controller support as making it a twin stick will probably feel better! A crosshair is a good idea though, gives clarity.

Changing the environment is definitely a good idea, I have considered it in my design but never quite got around to it in this prototype. I also wanted to play around with the fire more, have different types that spread in different ways. Could work with the terrain, for example a fire that launches fire and extra space and could do so over a river!

Thank you again for the detailed comment!

Thank you for the feedback! I do intend to expand this after the jam. Just working out which direction to take it!

Thank you for the kind comment!

Ah fair enough, it was a fun experience, I look forward to seeing where you take it after the jam if you decide to!

No problem!

Ah good point, I was playing the browser version.

This is such a cool idea! Enjoyed trying to chain them together, it's surprisingly challenging. The game looks great as well.

Really great visuals, a very different idea for a game that was interesting to explore! Took me a couple of goes to understand exactly what I was supposed to be doing!

Thank you, I was hoping that the different builds would come through naturally, I limited myself to 6 artifacts for now but definitely wanted to include more.

Thank you for playing!

Thank you for the lovely feedback! It should be possible to get to the end but I appreciate that when the fire starts spreading it becomes very hard to get on top of it again and that I probably did a poor job balancing it in the time frame. I was thinking of making that a bit easier by gradually making the spread of fire weaker over time so if you spend a while tackling it, you should be rewarded by being able to push it back rather than being overwhelmed.

Thanks for giving it a go!

A nice take on the idea, I appreciated that starting the lighter used more fuel, made for an actual decision between leaving it on and turning it off to brave the dark for a bit.

Nice game, the lighting and how the theme and mechanics linked into that was a nice idea. I had an odd issue where the game froze for a bit I think it was when one of the mummies got caught in a spike trap but can't be sure.

Hello, not sure if it's just me but when I try to access your games page, the tab just freezes and eventually crashes. I couldn't run the game.

Good game, the grappling was quite fun, I found the climbing bits harder to control. Overall, quite a fun platformer!

I found it quite difficult to control at first but after getting used to it, the challenge was quite fun!

Great take on the concept, enjoyed playing it for a while.

Quite a fun idea, I noticed that the money carries over so you could potentially get enough money to win the later levels from the first level.

Very nice looking game, I didn't quite get to the end, I seemed to trap myself when I knocked over the tree outside and it blocked the door back into the house.

Loved the look and feel of the game, good job!

I wasn't sure what to do after collecting the axe, is the aim to build up the fire after that? It's probably a skill issue but I got taken down by wolves before I could build up the fire too much.

I noticed a bug when I got killed by Wolves, I could still move around and use the axe when the you died UI popped up. I only stopped being able to move when I then died a second time to the cold.

I thought this was a fun idea!

I thought the aesthetic of this was very cool.
