Oh wow, thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!
It makes us so happy to hear that you enjoyed it as much as you did and that it meant something to you.
Take care, we wish you all the best! <3

Thanks for playing, and of course for the video and all the great feedback!

Thank you! Your assumption is mostly correct, but we're not actually that old, and we didn't meet because of our age specifically ^^
Also, yes, they do need seatbelts, but that car is ridiculously unsafe anyway because its crumple zone is your knees.

Thank you so much, your video made us super happy, really glad you enjoyed it! <3

Thanks, that's good to hear, especially since we wanted to subvert expectations a little bit :D

Hey there. That would be funny, but we've never actually thought about that :D
It's actually just because Polaroid already has "polar" in its name, and because we had the northern lights in some of our artwork for the game, so we thought naming it after aurora borealis would be fitting ^^

Thanks for the great feedback, glad you enjoyed it and we managed to surprise you ^^

Thanks for the video, and especially for the kind words and great feedback at the end, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the video, we had a lot of fun watching it ^^

Thanks! You can actually drive the car at one point in the game! ^^

Thanks for playing and commenting, glad you liked it ^^

Thanks for your sweet comment! Enjoy school while it lasts, make sure to keep in touch with your friends, let them know you love them, and we wish you all the best!

Thanks for the video, always fun to see how people react to our weird made-up radio program. Looking forward to the next video!

Thanks for the video and your very kind words, glad you enjoyed all the details, we really enjoyed watching it ^^

Thanks for the video, the kind words and the great feedback! Glad you enjoyed it ^^

Thank you for the nice feedback! The slow pacing is something a few people have commented on, and while it is what we were going for, the implementation probably isn't ideal and something we need to adress for future games.

Thank you so much for playing and commenting, really glad you enjoyed it, it always makes us happy to hear that ^^

That should be able to run it, as long as you have a decent dedicated graphics card to go along with it.

Thank you ^^
We look at this one as a finished game, and it won't be upgraded, apart from maybe a few fixes and quality of life improvements. But we're currently working on a spiritual successor of sorts.

Thanks for the video, really enjoyed watching it, and I laughed out loud at the All star bit :)

Too bad :(
We'll look into optimizing it a bit more, and I'll notify you once we find a solution. The volumetric lighting is probably a culprit as well.
But thanks for trying, have a good one!

Hey there, thanks for the compliment, I also hope that you can play it ^^
There is an option to turn the graphics down, but it's not in-game, only in the window that appears when you start the game, where you also select screen resolution etc. Depending on your settings, you might have to hold down alt/option for this window to appear.
Hope that helps!

Hey there, sorry to hear that :/
Are you playing the PC or the Mac version? And what are your system specs?
Also, have you tried turning the graphic settings down?

Thank you ^^
Some of the games that inspired us were Glitchhikers, Firewatch and all games by turnfollow, to name a few.

Thank you, and thanks for the feedback, that's a great idea!
Maybe text speed could be an option, though we don't have an options menu in this version ^^'

Thank you! ^^
Unfortunately, it will be a while until we have something playable with our new version / spiritual successor of Northbound. But we'll keep posting updates on Twitter, so you can follow us on there ^^

Thanks, glad you liked it ^^

Thank you for playing and for your feedback, glad you liked it ^^

Thank you ^^
There isn't a playlist yet, but that's a great idea! For now, you can find the names to all the songs in the credits ^^

Thank you for playing and for your kind words, glad you enjoyed it :)

Thank you so much for your video, we enjoyed it a lot ^^

Hey everyone, we just released Northbound, a project we started back in February of 2018 as part of our bachelor's thesis.
We put a lot of work into it and are very proud of it, so please check it out.
We are also developing a new version or a spiritual successor to Northbound, so all feedback is very much appreciated.

Northbound is a narrative, atmospheric adventure game set on a roadtrip.

Having just graduated from university, but lacking direction and purpose in life, you think back to the times when life was simpler and everything just seemed easier. So you decide to go on a roadtrip with your childhood friends, to a lake where you spent your summers together in the past. But on the way there, you realize that a lot has changed since you were kids.

  • Colorful, atmospheric handcrafted graphics
  • A highly detailed bus to explore
  • Soundtrack featuring various indie artists
  • An amount of dialogue we've never bothered to count
  • Will last you anywhere between 20 to 45 minutes
  • No objectives to fulfill, so take your time
