Your comment is going straight into the project backlog! I will let you know once these changes are implemented.
Hopefully I can include them in the next release :D
Actually, a friend of mine was testing the game today in front of me, and his comments were very similar to yours! Thank you!

Platformer & Adventure game for Game Boy designed by a 7-year-old child.
Play the demo here: itch.io
Maki Makulo is designed having adults and children players in mind:
“I made this game with just one goal: A game that my now 7-year-old child can play and have fun as a kid. But with a depth that he will probably only understand when he is an adult.” - PLAY MAKINA
- A captivating story full of values & teachings will push you to advance through the storyline.
- All texts are in UPPER-CASE to help kids who are in the early stages of learning how to read.
- Dying does not hurt; plenty of checkpoints, no lives, quick respawn… while having a challenging gameplay. Because life is hard, but we learn from failing. Failing is the key to success.
- Cutscenes are skippable, and texts can be disabled. In case you want to have a quick play.
- After each rescue, our friend can lend us his powers so that we can use them in the following missions.
- Our reliable sports car will bring us to each mission, where our time to kick some ass will begin by defeating all of our arch-enemy minions.
Who is the girl with green skin that guides us? Why does she seem to know everything beforehand? Should we trust her?
Hi coffeedripstudios! The functionality I am coding is similar to the "Making movement arrows" so it really helped me your explanation :D We are developing a visual novel using Ren'Py, still in a very early stage of the development. Just by looking at profiles like yours with many games already out is motivating me so much to keep working on our project :) I am posting our progress in https://www.playmakina.com (sorry it's only in Spanish right now :(, but I am translating it to English during this week and continue to post in both languages from now on). Thanks a lot for your reply!
What a beautiful atmosphere you are creating with this game! I discovered you through a YouTube tutorial which helped me to code a functionality of the game we are developing. I executed this game out of curiosity for your artwork and I can clearly see your outstanding potential straight away. Thank you for existing :)
