It's all good dude, you get to learn from your mistakes! And don't worry, i think the minigames you've added were good enough!

No problem, you did a very good game and even with the dialogue stuff i still had a lot of fun with it! I wish the best of lucks to ya!

just take your dang rating.

Simple graphics, not many distractions from the imminent doom and despair you're about to go through after every single bit of progress, i personally like it. Character could use some animations and maybe sound, other than that... good game.......... but also screw you a little (im joking, just playing along lol dont worry, game lives up to it's name though ill give it that)

no

Well this was a *funny* experience...

This game was honestly really well made for the most part, for some reason i really REALLY loved the intro with the signature, it's always the smallest details that i end up really enjoying. Gameplay-wise, it was a little too slow in my opinion, mainly because of the dialogues.. First of all, you cannot skip lines, and second of all you have to wait some seconds before going to the next line once the current one is done getting typed, which was really annoying to get through, other than that, the dialogue was really good and.. *funny*. But the best part of the gameplay was definitely the minigames, and i gotta admit the photo minigame made me laugh so much thanks to this stupid abomination you've allowed me to create. (Image above)
No issues with the audio, some dialogue blips were a little annoying but they didn't bother me that much.

Overall this game is well written and lives up to it's name, it's main problem is mainly the slow dialogue pacing, but other than that it was a really good short story, great job dude!

Thanks a lot! Like i mentioned in replies below, a proper tutorial was fully scripted and planned, but the time limit ended up not allowing me to properly add it, however once the jam is over I’ll definitely be adding it back in! Thanks once again! :D

Thanks a lot for your review! The planet protection idea is actually so good, i did not think about that wow you’re actually a genius, i hope you don’t mind me borrowing this idea for the future! :D A tutorial was something that was very well planned, i had an entire script for it and everything but due to the limited time it was something i didn’t get to properly add, once the jam is over that’s something that i will be working on asap!! And trust me, you just got lucky with the bugs because they’re definitely there, but I’m glad to hear that they at least aren’t as common as i thought! Thanks for you awesome review once again and for the great feedback!

Go high kitty, reach the skies!!! I really love the idea of this game, mixing a Match-3 game with building a tower to reach the top is a really cool game idea! However it’s one that needs good execution, for example the Match-3 part seems to be completely optional in a way, like you can just fully ignore it and focus on reaching the top, of course, you don’t get a good score but even then, you should find a good way to make the matching system necessary while allowing progress as you play it! I can’t really think of a way for this to work but I’m sure you’ll be able to think of something awesome if you put your mind to it! I love the tutorial at the beginning, it’s simple, quick, and explains everything pretty well! You did great explaining how to play :D The audios are good and i love the art, the cat is very cute!:] About bugs, besides being able to place blocks above others, it’s worth noting that you can leave the cat floating in the air if you match the blocks they’re inside of, so try fixing that whenever you can! Overall a good game idea, this jam version of course lacks a little content but that’s very understandable as the time definitely screwed us all, but with more work and time you will make something really interesting! Best of lucks :3

I beat the game! And here’s everything i have to say :] The gameplay consisted of a maze, finding items and climbing a tower, very simple stuff but for a game jam i would say this is very very good and you have big potential! As cattymations said below, the environments were really cool to explore and walk through, and the monsters were good enough for this game, the sound was good as well! I also gotta say that i love the way you draw, I’m personally a big fan of these types of “shadow” characters so the main character was really well designed in my opinion, i like them a lot! :D For 9 days I’ll say this game was good! I can’t really think of something bad to say about your game, it’s not perfect but it is very good for what it is, and you have a lot of potential man!

Thank you for checking it out as well! Your words are very motivating and as promised I’ll definitely keep working on this to make it an even better game! :D

This game was honestly pretty good in my opinion! I love the humor in this a lot, the title was surprisingly creative and it made me giggle a bit i won’t lie, it’s dumb in a good way and that makes it.. well, good! The game was very simple to understand, the controls are good and all “days” are really simple to get through…. except of course THE KING. WOW THAT GUY IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO GET THROUGH. I actually like this game’s style, and i really love the designs for the characters and their personalities, and i love how the dialogue changes depending on who you play as, definitely a cool detail! I personally really like Simon 8D (a face with glasses in case..) This game definitely has love put into it and that’s something that very much matters in a game, overall really cool game and it has really good potential, if you’re up to it you should definitely keep working on it after the jam! :]

Hey hey! I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed my little project, and happy to hear i was able to impress you with this!! Yes i knew remembering the economy order was gonna be a huge problem, and i was going to add a deeper tutorial and a way to check the economy order, but like many many things, they could not make it due to the limited time, that will be a big priority once i pick this back up! The zoom issue is something that didn’t occur to me until after i released the jam, and then it was like “Oh shoot, the camera is too close by default for a game about exploring space, if they don’t figure out how to zoom they won’t be able to find anything!! D:” it was of course too late to fix that and the only choice was to pray they read and remembered the controls, that also will be a priority, luckily it’s a very very easy fix so it won’t be much of an issue to me! And no; Thank YOU for your awesome words and for checking my game out, your feedback is very very much appreciated and thanks a lot once again! :D

I’m glad to hear that then! Thanks a lot once again:D

Thank you for your review! The reason for the spaceships being arrows is because the game is supposed to take place on a screen inside of the spaceship, you’re looking at a radar of space and that’s why spaceships are arrows and planets are just white circles until actually approached, and the realistic view is seen on the corner :D That’s the “aesthetic” I’ve gone for, but your feedback is of course highly appreciated and I will keep it in mind!

Hello! I would like to ask if you could rate my game please? https://planet-with-a-ring.itch.io/marketspace
It’s a roguelike space exploration economy game where you have to follow a rock-paper-scissors type of economy to make a profit! Explaining it will probably take a little so I ask you to read the description and experiment with it, once you understand I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! It turned out really unrelated to the jam, but I plan on expanding the game more after the jam so all feedback will help me greatly! Thanks for reading and I’ll check your game out when I’m back home :]

Hello there! I would kindly like to ask if you could try out my game? It’s a space economy exploration roguelike game where you follow a rock paper scissors type of economy to make a profit while avoiding the police trying to stop you! Explaining the game would take long so I ask you to read the description if possible :D https://planet-with-a-ring.itch.io/marketspace The game turned out kind of unrelated to the jam’s theme, however I want to expand this game further beyond the jam and that’s why I need feedback, thanks for reading and have a nice day! :]

Hey thanks a lot!

Im free.. anyways The theme is noticeable and the gameplay is simple enough; dodge cannonballs coming from all directions while you try and gather rocks to build walls around the map which if i remember correctly meant building the actual tower. The gameplay is decent, there’s a clear objective and obstacle, however it lacks a lot of content that could help add more to your game like power-ups or different types of “obstacles” The graphics are a little poor, but they aren’t necessarily bad in my opinion, just next time try to decorate a little bit more! Your game could also use more audio, maybe music or more sound effects for stuff!

So overall your game represented the theme well enough, its mostly on the gameplay and visual part where it falls off more, but considering this is apparently the first game you’ve released I’ll say you did a good enough job! Just work on improving the stuff that were mentioned and i promise you’ll make it even better!

Ohh okay that makes a little more sense then! And yes i’ll be following your game to check out later as well :D

Thanks a big lot!

I appreciate your feedback a lot! Yes, the game will get updated and I’ll make sure to add everything that got left out due to the limited time, trust me there’s a lot of cool things i have saved up and if you enjoyed this small “experiment” then you will definitely enjoy the future for this game :D The UI and sound are indeed the best parts about my game and they’re mainly what im proud of, my graphic design skills were tested with these and i made sure to make them look clean and appealing! And yup, as said above there was way more content planned but due to the limited time a lot had to be left out, do be on the lookout though as they will most definitely appear later on! Thank you so much for your review once again!

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss :( I'm not really good with this topic so i don't want to say much but i hope you and your family are okay.

Onto the game, the tutorial was honestly really hard to understand and it took me many refreshes to finally understand what you had to do, and even then wow the monster is annoying, PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!

The graphics on this game were simple and cool, it has it's own special style and I'm a big fan of that, i love the colors you've chosen for stuff :D I'll just say that some text could definitely use some work, but with some tweaks and adjustments, I would say that this game will have a good aesthetic to it!

I love the music, i really really love the music.

Overall this game has really great potential, it's original and for 9 days like a comment below has said, it's really impressive what you've managed to achieve, especially considering what happened :[ My biggest complaints are the very confusing tutorial and the monsters, i actually couldn't manage to get past 3 rooms, it might just be a skill issue so don't take my words too seriously because there may be things I've missed. But good game, great job and my deepest condolences once again, i wish you the best!

After playing the game for a little and getting to wave... 56392?!?! My final opinions on this game are:

The concept and idea for this game is actually really cool! Destroying robots with souls and using these souls to revive the dead to help you sounds like a very cool game idea and you should definitely keep expanding on it, i would love to see where it ends up! I will say however that this version of the game is really repetitive and doesn't offer much content, and i might just be dumb but i don't really see where the theme applies here, what's the top you're reaching exactly? I also like the pixel art you've added, it's simple but it gets the job done and hey, as long as no ai is involved then anything will be good to me! I don't have much to say about the audio, it's alright!

Overall this is a really good foundation for an awesome future game and you should definitely keep working on it once this is over, I would love to see where it goes! But it feels a little unrelated to the theme and it lacks content those are honestly the biggest down from this submission. Great job however and best of luck!

p.s there's some visual bugs i've encountered like skeletons randomly becoming invisible or replaying their spawn animation and i don't think the wave counter works as intended, keep those in mind!

My game was unfinished and big corners had to be cut, but i plan on working on this game more in the future so feedback will be appreciated!

When i thought a floor was hard enough, the next one absolutely destroyed me. This might be a skill issue problem but some levels were really annoying to get through, but even then it was still really fun to play! The audio is okay, not much to say about it! Overall really good game, well done! :]

Thank god i lost my headphones 3 days ago, that's all i can say about the audio.

The controls were okay, the jump is a little annoying but other than that there isn't more to say about it.

Level design is kind of confusing, the lack of instructions anywhere doesn't really help.

Personally I'd say the best thing about this game are the models, i really love them! But other than that, everything else was a little big bad, especially the audio. But with some rework on those aspects I'm  sure you can turn this into a great game! :D

Thanks a lot! To be honest the UI might be the best part about my game, everything else was on the lower side lol
