firstly , I want to say I really liked your work , very cool and unique , one of the best itch profiles I have ever seen
also I was looking for way to add filters to games' thumbnails , I found this post and I took a look at your css code , it helped me so much with that !!

The game has simple but fun mechanics. I finished it with only two total deaths (after discovering a bug :D where if you stay close to a wall, the ghosts will just walk toward you without attacking). The art and the animations are great; they really help the game stand out.
For the SFX, I think their volume is too low. I could barely hear them.
Also, maybe adding more types of ghosts, like ones that go through walls or shoot from a very close distance, would make the experience even better.
Overall, great submission!!

I'm sorry to hear that . I should have made a tutorial to explain the mechanics better 😅 , the same mistake I made in my previous GoedWare jam
bu t anyway here's how the main gameplay loop is , you walk around your house and notice if something moves, changes shape, or appears unexpectedly. This means there is a monster ( an 'Uninvited Guest' ) nearby. To reveal the monster, you need to use your flashlight on it.
There are three types of monsters:
- normal zombie.
- zombie that throws projectiles.
- The boss ( THE HIDING GHOST )
Your main goal is to find and kill the boss to free its soul and make it leave your house. not that the boss will disappear after a short time when it appears, and you'll have to find it again until you finally defeat it.
You must do all of this before midnight. After midnight, the boss and every single monster still alive will attack you directly , you can still defeat the boss but it will be so much harder
for the art you are right .. this was my first time trying to makemy own pixel art for my entire game .. and Thank agian you for trying my game even though you don't like this type of game !!
also you made a solid very polished game , I really like it !!

I liked the hand drawing art very cool , and the sfx is nice but I think the music is a little bit annoying
giving the player multiple things to do and make him think "what should I do now ? fix , get more ammo or fight the zombies" is very clever and add some strategic depth to the game

Yeah, that was because I had two types of side walls: one with collision and one without. I think I have mixed them up :] , but I will fix this. Regarding the gun and the flashlight, do you mean adding the ability to only use one of them at a time? I think that's a cool idea !

2 - yeah I was planning to add an enemy with the ability to show all the hidden monsters around it when killed and tow more levels , thats would have added more depth , diffecalty and stratigic thinking to the game , but I ran out of time
3 - " it's not a bug it's a feature " ;D I thought that would help the players find the boss if it's near them so I keep it in the game

it took me some time to get into and fully understand the mechaanics , but after that I really injoy it !!
the character swapping mechanic was cool and the puzzles were fun
I think some sfx and music would bring some more life into the game , also showing the physical barrier that prevent the player from walking throw the pumpkins ( and make it change it's colors depending on the current character ) would help explaining the game mechanics

In this jam I focused a lot on the game feel and tried my best to make the game atmosphere as spooky as I can, so I am very happy that you noticed that
as for the girl, I think you mean the big ghost. You should shoot it each time it appears ( which happens when you highlight the random object that is next to it ) ... as it will appear for a short amount of time then disappear until you find it again ... I mentioned that in the "How to Play" section... If I had more time, I would have made a better tutorial and fixed the game breaking bugs 😅😅
for the art , I know I know .. it's not that great >> I am learning pixel art, and this is my first try at making a full game with my own art !! and will try it again in my next jam hoping I will become better at it
Of course, I will join the Goedware next jam as I am now one of the Goedwares xD
