Nice build-up, but it feels structured like it's part of a bigger piece than its own thing, so its ending doesn't feel right. The synths were great, I loved what you used for the bell sound, and that wavy bass mixed with the pads at the start was very vibrant.

very pleasant to the ear, very nice.

Absolute cinema! Has the vibe of a Sonic OST!

Very atmospheric, very nice.

The sound design and pitch bending were pleasantly strange yet interesting.

ngl, was a bit lazy on this, didn't really have a concrete idea, so I just winged it.

loved that light glockenspiel.

Astonishing, very cool!

Can we make multiple 20-second submissions, or is 20 seconds the maximum time altogether?

I kinda like the idea of it being 20 seconds, it forces us to make the most out of a short snippet of music, and there is still a lot one can do in that time. Such as a victory theme or a short introduction. Though I will say the 5 days to do it is a bit much, even when considering some people might not be able to do it the day it starts. Overall, though, I get the idea.

The cover you see is just something I use when I haven't made the full cover artwork, I was running out of time and was sick, so I didn't make a unique piece, not yet at least. Thanks!

You really brought that N64 Sound out; this was just a good vibe to hear. Well done, and thank you for this lovely piece.

Max Quality settings go Brrrrrrr! Just wanted to try it out, see if I noticed any difference between 16 bit, 48k, and 32 bit, 192k. Wasn’t very noticeable, excluding the file being 10 times larger. Overall, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the response. Yeah I could’ve done better complexity wise, but circumstances of me traveling, getting sick, and me still being a novice at this made things challenging, I might actually go back and improve these, so thanks for the suggestion.

Number 1: try out Spitfire Labs Soft Piano, it’s free and is excessively good, I didn’t even have to EQ it or anything, it just sounds so good off the bat.
Number 2: my thought process behind the themes was my desire to do completely contrasting themes. One would be calm and welcoming, such as a Christmas theme, and a when I got that down, I decided to make the next one brutal and oppressive, and I was listening to a lot of Russian/slavic styled music from games and movies, so I went with something along the lines of Papers Please and Workers & Resources Soviet Republic.

(1 edit)

yes, I wanted two completely contrasting things in one bundle, it’s more fun to take one Idea and see to what extents I can shape the idea on an emotional level, thank you for the feedback!

I found this piece to be rather soothing, I loved the transition from the light plucks to the ambient pads section, with a light harmonizing rhythm. I only have one complaint, how the synth lead towards the end was crushing the audio in a way, unsure if that is intentional, but for me the crushed sound was annoying. Other than that, very nice piece.

Outside of the leading synth being a tad to loud and forward , I think this was a great piece, the flow of it was what got me the most, it’s passing was constant and soothing.

Very lovely tune, loved the strings most of all. Well done! What you probably could’ve improved upon was maybe adding more dynamics to the brass, but that’s all I can think of at the moment. (This could be my bias towards orchestral scores, but who cares.)

Very Lovely Piece, well done!

Gotta Love the Wind Orchestra, very pleasant to listen to.
