I didn't quite expect to find myself fighting traffic cones in this game jam, but here I am!

What a crazy ride this game was! Even if the game seems to be early alpha, it was a lot of fun to just wander around and just see what's out there. I actually kinda love the surreal vibes of just not knowing what's going to happen next (which combos well with the absurdity of the traffic cones).

If you continue this, I'd really be interested in what it becomes, what direction you'd take it.

I also really liked the models and 2D art, I love the retro style with it!

The movement does feel a little slippery, and the boss was a bit confusing, but the game was a lot of fun anyways. Great work!

I really like the concept that you're working on! I love Neir and love to see more devs making games in that style/gameplay!

The character swapping mechanic was cool and could be used for some interesting gameplay. The animations were also smooth.

I think this game could be pretty cool, but I hope you will work on finding your own art style (as apposed to the vroid/default anime style) before going too deep into the mechanics. This could really be something special just going off the ideas you put out!

Excited to see what you do!

This game was really good! The art and animations were amazing, and there were so many different cool abilities to use. I thought each ability was cool, especially the uppercut ability as you needed to use it for the parkour as well.

However, I did have some issues while playing, specifically against some of the enemies. The flying robot seemed to be attached to the player, always hovering above, making it impossible to hit them even with the uppercut ability, and guaranteeing you to get hit by it. Also the bat shot out fireballs way to quick. The other issue I had is making the dash not its own button, I kept accidently dashing instead of moving normally. The boss at the end was cool too and looked great, but I wish it was a little more difficult/had more health so I could see/fight them more. Other than those issues, the game ran smooth and was a lot of fun though!

Overall, you did a great job on this game!

I really love the vibe of this game and wished so bad that it was more playable.

The art is just so cute and cozy, and I really like the vibes of a magical girl cafe! It seems a lot of the core game mechanics work (combining ingredients, serving customers, etc), so it would be really cool to add a bunch of items to cook and really make a crazy chaotic resource management style game!

As others have said, there really is not enough time to serve the customers. It could be interesting to have a strict timer to add to that chaotic vibe, but it's very tight right now. Maybe increasing the day timer after every successful customer served? I also had an issue where when I opened the settings menu, I couldn't close it and start/continue the game.

I would love to see you fix some of these bugs and balancing issues, this is a really cute game!

Fantastic art!

I really love the pixel art and the backgrounds are really well done! It's gives me a retro vibe that feels really cozy to play. I also loved the exploration and having the enemies let you upgrade you "max health." Starting low and letting you build the health up felt very rewarding!

I do agree with what others have said that the dashing for platforms was a little difficult at first. And the arrows would often appear on top of me (when  I was close to the top of the screen), which felt very frustrating. But it really didn't take away much from the great time exploring!

I would love to see more and where you could take this story with the tarnished prince.

I really like the art style and vibes for this game!

The animations are cool and I liked the enemies and story that you started developing in the description. Would love to see more!

Wow! What a beautiful game! The art for the environment and player/enemies is so good! It really nails the deep forest vibes.

I really liked the animations on the player with the multi-hit combo. It feels really smooth. Though returning control to the player a little earlier may help it feel snappier. I also loved the fall animation on the player, with the hair flying up, such a great detail. The game really gives me Celeste vibes, but more RPG. Love the style and the art!

As some others have said, the game froze for me a few times, but it would unfreeze when I left fullscreen. So that was manageable.

Great job and fantastic game! I would love to see where you take this!

Great game with really neat mechanics!

As some others have said, having the shoot bubble bound differently (like to mouse) would have been better, but it's not too bad.

I really liked the idea of using the bubbles for platforming and attacking. I was especially hyped when I got the teleport ability. I even went back to just teleport around for a while.

I would love to see where you could take this if you continue it! Great job!

I really like the art style of this game! It has such a cool retro aesthetic!

The audio and platforming is really solid too! I really enjoyed exploring around and just taking in the atmosphere.

My only issue is how difficult the heart boss is! It sends out so many enemies with the player having so little attack that it feels almost impossible. I was getting stun locked a lot.

Overall, with a little re-balancing on the heart boss, this is a really solid game!

A very polished game!

Your team really put something special together! Everything from the audio, visual, and programming all felt really solid and refined. I loved the different art styles in the intro cutscene. The 'crayon' style is super cute and fun! And the pixel art portraits are super detailed! The background are also really detailed and pretty with all the decorations!

My only feedback would be to let the player 'jump out' of the peal mode. Right now if I jump while in pearl it just flickers the player's animation and keeps me in pearl. So if I want to jump after being a pearl, I have to time it just right. And maybe put some kind of save station at the start, so it doesn't replay the intro if you die before finding a save station later. Though I love the 'surprise' of the stalls for the save station, so cute!

Love the game and the puzzles! Great work!

Love this game!

It feels really polished already! I really like all the mechanics you've set up, especially the freezing and using enemies as platforms. I also think the little dead guys in the acid/poison is really cute!

My only issue was when I picked up the frost card and had to press random keys to figure out what it did. But there was a tutorial later for it, so I guess it's okay.

I would love to see more levels and what you can do with the mechanics! Super great game!

This was a great chill kinda game. It feels like something I could just put on the side monitor while I work!

I like the idea with the pachinko, but maybe have the point differences be a little more? Like right now it's just 1 to 3, so it doesn't mean much. And maybe a way to have it affect the snake side depending on where you land? Such as buffs or debuffs?

I think this game could really be something special!

Great game!

I love all the artwork and animations for the player/enemies. The effects for damage, turret laser, explosions, portal, and the boss movement is really good! The game really has potential if you decide to keep working on it.

I would be nice to have a way to recover energy other than killing enemies. Like during the boss fight, there was no way to get more. Maybe natural regen or when damaging the boss?

The sound effects were also good, but a little loud by default. Though no problem for a short game jam. Great work!

A fun start!

There's defiantly potential for a solid platformer here, with some polish.

I think making the wall jump single use would help a lot, since right now I can just spam against a wall and climb over most things. But that's not much of an issue.

I liked the story you set up and would like to see where it goes. The dash also seemed interesting, as it would show the bounces off walls. I would love to see where you could use that mechanic.

Good work!

I love the animation on the title screen and game page! It's really cool!

The art throughout was really cool and gave a great vibe and atmosphere.

My biggest feedback would be to speed up the attack animations a little. And maybe a shorter stun after getting hit. I would also sometimes take damage from no noticeable source. But other than that, it was fun!

I really liked the dino at the end. It had some great animations. I really liked the tail swipe spin thing, though he only did it once and I really wanted to see him do it again! Super cool!

With some polish, this could be a really neat game!

Love this game!

I remember checking this game out when you first posted it. It's crazy how much you were able to add in the short amount of time with the update! There's a lot of potential here!

I really like the characters and art. My only feedback would be to make the text a little faster, or maybe add a skip to fill the line. I accidentally skipped a few lines trying to speed up the typing speed 😅

Overall, though, it was great! Would love to see where you take this!

A fun concept!

I see there is potential here with the mechanics you have set up. Though with the current state, I think it may be interesting to look at it as more of a 'bullet hell' style game over a metroidvania. Or maybe a mix of the two?

I would love to see how you take this game, great job!

Great game!

I loved the dialogue between the witch and her familiar, very cute! The mechanics of switching between the two was interesting and could make for some really cool puzzles/platforming sections if you continued it.

I love the design of the witch from the game thumbnail and would love to see them modeled/textured into the game. I hope you continue this, great work!

I really liked aesthetics of this game! Like some others have said, the early PS1 style is really cool and works so well for a atmospheric game like this. The story was interesting and I wanted to learn more.

The intro's walking speed was a little slow, but I assume that was for the dialogue to have time to play. Maybe adding more to look at in the intro world would help the player feel engaged while the into plays? But it wasn't really an issue.

I think the effects for when you transported to the other world was really good and kinda eerie  . And the boss area was cool and has potential. I hope this game continues and I get to fight that snake one day!

This game is so fun!

It could use some polish here and there, but I kinda like the almost flash game aesthetic to it. It really made me want to keep playing just to see what happens.

The bosses were all fun to fight and figure out how to avoid their attacks. It felt like a really solid metroidvania with all the paths that looped back on itself. Even simple things like not being able to reach the heal station at the start until you get the double jump felt really solid (I spent a good while trying to wall jump to it at first!) The dialogue and sound effects were all really funny too!

All the upgrades felt like they added something new and interesting to the game and made me want to find more/collect enough to get past the rocks. My only issue was the wall jump sometimes felt a little rough, like getting pushed away the wall in an uncontrollable way. But it was manageable.

Overall, this was a really fun game that kept me wanting to play it until the very end!

I love this game! There is so much potential here!

Just booting the game for the first time I could see this was something special. The art is really good (though un-rendered), but the animation itself is really smooth. I honestly think the line art/animation frames feels like a unique and cool style on it's own!

The game was very short unfortunately, but I found it really cool to find the transformation pearl. I was really shocked to see her transform, as I didn't expect even more fantastic animations on the cloth.

I would love to see this game continued and fleshed out! I need to know what's behind that door!

What a fun and beautiful game!

The art is really good, both for the background/environment and the character.  The platforming felt frustrating at times, mostly in a good way, but some jumps were a little difficult (especially if I kept hitting my head). But the world was fun to explore and try to work my way around. The power ups kept things interesting. Even just finding them was a fun change of pace and made exploration feel satisfying. And of course the Wind pearl was a great game changer.

I especially love the enemies. And when I first ran into the giant owl, that was a really cool moment. Especially when I just got the Earth pearl before and I realized 'I gotta break it's shield!'

My only issue was that when I died in the forest area (right after getting the green power), my character became invisible/couldn't move. Like I respawned but was locked.

Other than that bug, I really enjoyed my time with this game. Fantastic job!

Cool game!

It was very weird and I like the photo cutout vibes of the art style!

In the future it might be better to make the game a WebGL, so people can play in browser. The download was flagged by my antivirus and windows defender.

Overall good!

Can't play, no download :(

A very weird game indeed!

The controls are a little rough, the sensitivity for me  is very high.

I did like the concept and it was fun to see just how weird it got! I wish there was health, though, since restarting on death is a little harsh. Pretty good though!

Super cool game!

Feels very polished and the controls are very intuitive. I especially liked the last two levels, the moving platforms is really cool!

Keep up the good work!

A fun little game!

It took a second to get used to the slippery physics, but after that, I enjoyed it a lot! Found myself trying to find faster routes by using the dash!

I ended up with a 7.9s on the first level and 9.1s on the second.

Would love to see more levels, great work!

I absolutely loved this game! The art style and aesthetic of it was incredible, it felt so eerie walking around in the black and white world. The darkness contrasted by the bright white objects really stood out! And the hands! I saw one of them slowly come into view and was creeped out at the same time as being mesmerized. Then I walked around a little and was met with another! All I can say is that the art was beautiful.

The game mechanics are quite simple, and I failed to find this mystery creature that was supposed to be chasing me, but it was still enjoyable. At first I was a little confused, as I kept trying to put the fuel into the place where you start the engine, but once I found the furnace on the other side, I was good to go! The machine was incredibly cool, I loved the design of it, and its walk animation was awesome. I wasn't able to get it all the way to the end, I just couldn't find all the fuel, but it was a very enjoyable experience. However, it does get extremely dark in areas, which made it kind of hard to navigate/find the fuel. The darkness isn't necessarily a bad thing, but some more trees/leaves would help guide the player. Also, I did face a bug, while the machine was going uphill, I got stuck in it's leg and had to restart.

For some feedback, I think this game could really benefit from some music or ambient background noise. It's completely silent, except for the footsteps, for a lot of the game. The waterfall bit was really nice in part due to the ambient sounds of the water, which I think could really help out the rest of the game.

Overall, I have to say this was one of my favorite games from the jam. The art really stood out, and matched perfectly with the story/adventure you were trying trying to portray. And while you didn't necessarily tell the story directly to the player, I found myself creating it in my head. I think if this game added in the enemy that's supposed to chase you, add sounds and do a little bug patching, this game will be even better! I'd love to see more from this game, and hope you'll continue working on it :D

Thanks for playing our game! I'm sorry you had trouble with the garden. With the enemy outside, the light shows their view area, so try to avoid going into it. Also, for the second the enemy, there are bear traps placed on the floor, so avoid stepping on those! I hope this helps :D

Really well made game! I loved the aesthetic and cutscenes. The office maze was really cool, and I really liked the blue glow of the watercoolers, especially when it got dark. I'm not sure if it was a bug or not, but I picked up a flashlight from the bosses desk, which I assume wasn't supposed to be there since you get another on the dead person. Also, the flashlight was floating during the printer cutscene, when it first appears. Other than that, well done!

Thanks for letting me know! We just looked into it and there seems to be a bug that makes the lights, that are supposed to guide you in the darkness, not appear sometimes.

You might be able to hit continue if you just closed the game. Otherwise, you can only get that bonus once, so it won't show up on new game again. If you can get back there, try walking straight up until you see something. Sorry for the trouble.

We'll add that patch to a more major update we're working on. When we update, the saves get cleared unfortunately. So we want to make this update worth playing again with more endings, fixes to the enemies, more gameplay, and more secrets 😼

Thanks again and sorry the bonus didn't work for you 😅

Great job on the game! I liked the art, and the story was very interesting, I wasn't expecting the twist! I'd love to see where the story goes, I want to know if their performance was good enough! Only thing I'd say is I wish Lara had a dialogue portrait, other than that, well done!

The art was so good! I loved the contrast of the non serious, silly clowns and the dark murders they're investigating. The story was laid out really well, and I was interested in discovering it in each of the dimensions. Overall, you did amazing making this game!

Great job on the game! I liked the ghost models! I wasn't 100% sure how to use the jewel powers, but I still had fun playing. Well done!

Well done on the game. It looked nice, had a spooky atmosphere, but there wasn't a lot of substance to the game. It felt like more should have happened. It's a great start, I'd love to see more from this game. Great job!

The audio of the person whispering what to do was really creepy and cool! The aesthetic, audio and cutscenes were all great. I really liked the mirror mechanic, really creative!

Sadly, I wasn't able to play all of the game as I couldn't figure out what to do. I found the book on the wall, but couldn't interact with it and taking it's picture didn't work either. I'd love to come back and play the rest if you'd give me pointers on what to do :D

The credits were very unexpected 😂  I liked the look of the menu, but I wasn't really sure what to do at first, like how to start the game. Overall, great job!

Thanks for playing the game again! I'm glad some people were able to find the second ending :) The third ending is a lot more hidden, but we felt like it made it more rewarding to find. Especially for people who read all the dialogue and were able to pick up on the hints. Thanks for sticking around to play, even through all the bugs and rebalances :D

Thanks for playing our game, and thanks for the feedback! We're working on making the boss have better feedback, and giving the player more to do during the fight! We will also look into the dialog issue you faced. Thanks for giving our game a go :D

Just watched your VOD, thanks for the feedback! The suggestions with the dog boss fight are much appreciated. I'm glad you liked our game :) Also, a lot of the story and theme are shown through exploring the house, interacting with the environment and especially finding the other endings! Thanks for playing our game :D

Edit: I also just wanted to thank you for going through each persons game and giving a live review. I respect the effort you're putting in to give feedback and support to all the people in this jam! The videos really help in seeing a players viewpoint. As someone who already knows everything that supposed to happen in the game, it can be easy for devs to overlook things!

Very cute and spooky game! The art was amazing, the story was very interesting and the puzzles were fun. Very interested in seeing more from this game! Overall, great job on this game!
