I have posted a new illustrated story called “The Time Cave” which is set in the Valentine Chronicles universe.

The link to the story may be found here "The Time Cave".

I have also added a link to explain “What are the Valentine Chronicles?

The story involves Valentine, Tommy and Bobbi going on a safari trip into a remote area and becoming stranded over night. They face danger and wonder if they will be rescued in time.

The story is 36 pages and features line drawings.

Here is a link to a page which should give you an idea of the text and images:

Enjoy

My name is David Rogers. I opened an account here and uploaded a few things while I was on holiday, so I did not really get a chance to introduce anything here.

I would like to introduce an illustrated story called “Science is Garbage (Scientists are idiots)". The link can be found here:

https://pinkmonkeys.itch.io/science-is-garbage

The story is about a young math whiz who is about to go off to school. He goes to visit his grandfather who questions, his values, the values he has been taught and the value of science in general.

The story is hand written and the illustration are in the style of a child (which is how I draw). Here is a link to one of the pages from the story:

The story was written in response to what was happening at my job a few years ago. I was an ESL teacher in South Korea for more than 20 years. The university where I worked got a large grant from the government to promote the engineering departments. One of the consequences of this was the reduction of student and teacher numbers in the humanities. While I feel that the humanities are not without their problems, it is not all teaching unicorns and rainbows. I felt that it was important to show that the sciences are not a “sacred cow” and there are many benefits to a full and rounded education system.

So that was what prompted me to write the story. The childlike drawing and storytelling techniques were a deliberate ploy to compound the message behind the simple story.

I hope that you enjoy the story.

Yours

David Rogers
