Congrats on winning the jam!!!

It's a lovely story that  could also be a nice visual novel! The music was great, though I felt that the art style seemed to clash at times. I also felt like the player could've been faster, but I understand that getting slower symbolized getting older.

I like the idea of the game, where you have to memorize the details about the different fruit! There were some areas that could use more polish, as I was able to fall out of the map by walking through walls . I also didn't really notice the color differences on the fruit, so maybe it could've been more obvious. The art was also pretty nice, and I feel like including background music would be good.

Good job doing all of this on your own though! That's a lot of work to do in a short timeframe.

By far, the most visually impressive game jam entry I've seen! The entire world looks INCREDIBLE, and I loved the lighting!!! I use a pretty old computer so I was getting framerate issues, but that's more of an issue with my hardware lol.

I was kind of stuck though. I entered the temple after dropping the first two boxes on the switches. Then I dropped boxes on the next batch of switches (I think there were like 4), but nothing happened? IDK if I missed something, but I just felt stuck at that part. While the minimal guidance helps with the mysterious aesthetic of the game, it would be nice to have an option for hints or other guidance.

This was really well done! Excellent visuals, sound design, and very well polished. I really loved the background music!

My only feedback is that I wasn't so sure what to do with the black hole. They didn't really specify what they wanted, but maybe I was missing something. Just kidding! I replayed the game, figured it out, and got all orders perfect :)

Very well done! I can easily see an expanded version of this being on Steam as one of those cozy, comfy games with a cute art style.

I tried playing again and interacting with the statue, but nothing was happening. I might be missing something though.

Just like the monkey in-game, I also needed a cigarette afterwards. My brain couldn't handle this much stimulation :(

I like the idea of having to do a bunch of chaotic minigames, kind of like the WarioWare games, but doing three of them at the same time was too much for my smol brain.

The music and visuals were pretty nice though. I loved the title screen!

Hey! I managed to get the game to work by downloading the .RAR file, extracting the contents, recompressing it into a .ZIP file, then uploading it as a private itch.io html game.  For some reason, itch.io only likes .ZIP files, so a .RAR file won't work. I recommend you do this so that more people can play the game—check out my screenshots for the itch.io settings.

Here's my review for the game. I like the idea of having to fly through the level and avoid obstacles, kind of like Flappy Bird. I feel like more levels could've been added, but I understand that game jams don't give you much time. Also, there should be checkpoints since I found it a little frustrating to restart from the very beginning every time I died.

That said, with some more polishing I feel like this game can be solid. I also liked the visuals, with how everything looks like it was sketched on paper :)

I really liked the visuals and the cinematic! Some polishing could be done, but I get that there's often not enough time to polish games in a game jam.

I like the idea of fruits giving you temporary power-ups; this mechanic can definitely be used to make an engaging puzzle platformer. My biggest feedback is to make the jump higher. I would often have to jump multiple times to make it where I wanted to go. Other than that, I think the gameplay is fine. Perhaps in a future build, there can be a time limit on how long each fruit lasts so the player has to save them instead of instantly eating them.

Overall, I had fun!

Congrats on completing your first game jam! I like the concept of gambling and fishing, but I feel like the game should be more generous to the player. Maybe make dice cheaper to get, since I always ran out of dice before paying off the debt. Or, maybe fish could be worth more gold.

I also love how this was made with RPG Maker, since I don't see too many RPG Maker games nowadays.

This was a very, VERY well written game. I love how it feels like a visual novel escape room, and how you have to dig through the protagonist's memories to get the codes you need. The impending car is also a nice touch, though I did crash a few times before finally beating the game. I think the scenario of contemplating things while driving is very relatable. The story was also impactful, and the ending where the protagonist finally accepts their situation was such a nice way to end things. Also, the art was pretty solid!

I guess the only point of improvement I can think of is to make it so that clicking makes the full text appear, but without moving to the next line if that makes sense? What would happen is that I want to rapidly click to try to get through the text faster, but doing that just cuts off the current line of text and starts the next. So I have to sit there and wait for the text to scroll through on it's own because button mashing will make me miss important info by instantly advancing to the next line.

This was my favorite game so far. But maybe I'm just a sucker for good writing :)

At first I was a little frustrated since I didn't know what to do. I was just mindlessly falling through holes that the arrows were pointing to and felt I was making no progress. Then I moved the bedside table and suddenly realized that doing so also changes the position of the table in the other rooms. After that realization, the game became immensely enjoyable and reminded me of Portal (I noticed you used a piano remix of Still Alive!).

Awesome implementation of the theme. My only suggestion would be to make it more obvious that moving the table in the first room also moves it in subsequent rooms. Took me way too long to figure that out.

Yeah, I like my horror with some comedy hahaha. Thanks for playing—I also enjoyed your game!

First off, congrats on your first game jam! Being able to finish a game in a short deadline is a wonderful achievement.

As another commenter said, I found the intro a little long as well. I think if the text appeared 50% faster, then it would be more smooth. Or maybe have an option to fast forward the text would be good as well.

The game itself was pretty satisfying as a clicker game. The special object implementation was great since you literally sell fruit, though I was a little unsure of how deja vu fit into the game.

Overall, congrats on your first jam! Wishing you all the best on your game dev journey.

Thanks for letting me know about the tap bug! I've tried to debug as much as possible before the submission deadline, but I guess some bugs slip through lol

Very nicely done, and congrats on your first game jam! Being able to complete a game in a short timeframe is an accomplishment in itself.

The art and sound effects were well done, and I think the whole "use your previous self" mechanic fit perfectly with the jam theme. Reminded me of an old 2009 browser game called The Company of Myself

Great job! A prototype like this can easily be made into a full game.

This was relaxing. I enjoyed the background music, and I think you implemented the theme quite well!

Quite literally me IRL

This game was really well done! It really felt like I was flying a plane, but it also reminded me why I'm not a pilot since I kept crashing (the movement was really smooth, but I'm just not great at flying lol).

This is definitely one of the more polished entries I've seen in this game jam, and it deserves high ratings!

Very fun game! I liked the gameplay loop of mining materials then going back to the shop and getting upgrades so you can mine even more materials. Didn't take too long to complete all levels, but I had fun the whole time :)

Fun little game! Only feedback is that I wasn't able to wall jump when holding onto the floating platforms, but I was able to wall jump when holding onto the walls at the edges of the map. Still, this game was enjoyable and I liked the concept of overgorging.

I like the concept of the game, and it was fun! As another commenter said, the rocks felt pretty slippery, so I was often slipping to my death. If the rocks were larger, it would feel more forgiving.

I played on the web version, and sometimes when I held down crouch the game would crash? Not sure if that's just a issue with my computer though.

Movement felt extremely smooth, difficulty felt just right, and the background music is very nice! I managed to get to 2100m before drowning.  I guess the only feedback I had is that the game mechanics can be expanded upon, but I get that game jam time limits make it hard to add much. If there was time, maybe adding extra movement abilities or rewards after surviving for a while would add a lot to the game. Overall, quite an enjoyable and polished experience!

AWESOME use of the theme! This reminded me of the old Google flight simulator game, and I had a blast playing this. Only thing is that the background music was a little choppy for me, but that might've just been my computer.

I loved the voice acting and how you made gorge into a pun for gorgeous! Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the game; I managed to get stuck in some corner with no nearby holds, so I was condemned to sit on my buttocks for eternity. Guess I need to git gud :(

Simple, but fun! Reminds me of those old flash games from back in the day. Holding down the jump button allowed me to fly, which might've been unintended, but it did make the game more fun lol

I think it's because of how this game jam was graded and scored. Gameplay is only one criteria in rating the game. Yes, the gameplay in this game was quite fun (gameplay was your highest rated criteria, after all!) but the judges rate on more than just gameplay. Things like how you implement special object and theme matter too. For example, some games may not have had as fun gameplay as yours, but if they implemented the theme and special object better they would get a higher score.

Your rating on a game jam doesn't always reflect how fun or enjoyable a game is; all it means is how closely the game aligns with the judging rubric.  Don't worry about a low rating—people have clearly stated they enjoyed your game.

In the end, you made something fun to play, and I think that's what's most important!

Messaged you!

I liked the visual theme of the game, since it seems very upbeat and colorful. The controls did feel a little hard to steer as another commenter said, but I got used to it quickly. The game was also quite short, and I felt it could've been expanded. Though I understand that game jams have very limited timeframes.

Jumping on the drums felt quite satisfying, and the game reminded me of Mario 64. Overall I enjoyed it, and there were some places it could've been polished more. Good job on your first 3D game!

I liked this! I liked the gameplay loop of having to go to each portal and fight a different guitar boss. I couldn't beat the third one though, since I felt like there were too many projectiles on the screen to dodge. The background music was quite nice too. My only suggestion would be to tone down the amount of projectiles to make the game a bit easier.

Fun little game! Took me a while to figure out the controls since I couldn't see any tutorial. Once I got the controls down and figured out you had to match the music color to the waste color, the game became a lot more fun. Reminded me of a game called Vampire Survivors.

Really cute game! I LOOOOVED the graphics!!!

The gameplay loop was pretty entertaining. Took me a few tries to beat the game, but I felt it was appropriately challenging. It kind of reminded me of Undertale gameplay with all the dodging haha.

I guess the biggest point of improvement would be to implement audio and sound effects. Having some nice background music would really level up this game :)

The core gameplay was quite fun! Movement felt smooth, and the game felt appropriately challenging. As another commenter said, the theme and object could've been implemented thoroughly, but I enjoyed playing the game regardless :)

Reminds me of old flash games I used to play way back in the day.  Fun game, though I couldn't get past the second rhythm game as another commenter said. Even if I perfectly hit all the notes in the second rhythm game it just kept restarting?

Anyways, the platforming part was pretty fun. I liked being able to wall jump and dash, and movement felt nice.

I also really liked the background music!

This game has potential! I liked the base gameplay of being a platformer where you have different abilities to use in different situations, since that adds flair to the typical platformer formula. The offensive mode was simple and easy to understand. I didn't bother with the defensive mode since I much prefer shooting stuff. Finally, I found that the mobility mode was far better than anything else, since I was able to just teleport past all the enemies and speedrun straight to the finish line haha.

The game needs needs more polish, though I understand that game jams have tight time limits and it's easy to overestimate how much you can create.  You mentioned that you're fairly new to Godot in another comment, so I get how much stuff there is to learn (I just started learning Godot about 3 months ago myself!). If this was your first game, then congrats, and welcome to the rewarding (and sometimes frustrating) world of game dev! Simply completing and posting something puts you miles ahead of everyone who didn't :)

Overall, the biggest thing needed is polish, like ensuring there's no placeholder texture (like in the defensive mode) and adding a restart button when you die. But again, game jams have tight time limits so I understand how polishing can be tough.

  1. *touches yellow line*
  2. *literally dies*

I liked this game! Having your dream be corrupted was a very original take on the corruption theme, and I don't think I've seen any other game do anything similar this jam. I also liked how you went for a horror vibe, as that is something that also makes this game stand out amongst the others.

I guess my biggest comment is that I had to keep refreshing the page after dying (many times) as other commenters said. I also was frustrated that sometimes I would touch a yellow line by accident if it wasn't illuminated by a light source. Maybe that's just a skill issue on my part though.

Overall, I enjoyed playing!

I liked this! I think you implemented the special object and theme quite well, and the game itself was short and satisfying. Easy to understand mechanics and puzzle.

The amp feature where you keep playing notes to increase the noise levels was quite clever and original.  I guess my only concern is that I can still die if I get hit by a CD during the screen transition between rooms (when the screen is fading to black). It would be nice to be invincible when the screen starts fading to black between rooms, but that's a minor thing. There were no glaring bugs or issues that I noticed anyways.

Good job!

Hey so the update you did worked and I'm able to play the game now!

Anyways, I like your implementation of the theme and special object. The gameplay loop is fun too, and reminds me of those old sidescrolling beat-em-up games. The sprites and music are also good!

My main concern is that sometimes my character would freeze? Like, sometimes after shooting notes the character would straight up become frozen and I wouldn't be able to move or shoot notes. Enemies wouldn't be able to attack me in this frozen state either, as they would just walk up to me but not play their attack animation. Another minor thing is that it took me a while to figure out that "z" is how you shoot. I was pressing spacebar, trying to click my mouse, and pressed a bunch of other keys, so maybe a short tutorial blurb would be good.

Overall, I had fun! Just some polish needed but the main gameplay loop is there.

No it doesn't prompt me to install anything else. After downloading then running the .exe file, I make it to the title screen then when I press start I get stuck on a black screen. Anyways, if it works for you then it might just be a problem with my device.
