Your choice in certain events seems to trigger the approval either going up or down. For the most part, you gain approval from doing things that respect their culture and just generally engaging with the other characters, like helping with Mauve’s crush or dueling Leik. You do NOT have to suck up to Ruben to get it (in fact, after playing both the mindful and fiery romance routes, it seems they actually respect you more if you give him shit lol). One of the main obstacles that I found was when Laurens and the gang attacks the town- you actually have to agree with Toz and run. If you try and stay and fight your approval will tank with them. Other than that I don’t have an exact list of variables. Godspeed bro.

Every time a moment of romantic tension between D and the Crown is broken by someone walking in or something exploding I lose 1 year of my life expectancy.

Currently romancing D (how dare you with the cliffhangers, btw) but I don't think anyone has mentioned the friendship aspect of this??

I ended up besties with X and the Crimson Swords and it gives me life, all too often it's easy to just zero in on the one RO you're pursuing (and sometimes even required to progress). I like being able to bond with everyone

I think it's unavoidable, but depending on your choices it goes back to stable pretty quickly afterwards. I choice to talk it through with D and the brief unstable period didn't seem to impact the relationship at all.
