Glad you're enjoying the game! Yes, that particular bug is still in the game. It'll be a while before I remove it just because it will probably require me to rework some very core logic. Bare with me, I will get to it eventually..

To the best of my knowledge, the game functions perfectly fine without an internet connection. The only functionality you lose is that you won't be able to connect to the leaderboard. I'm so glad to hear you got the elephant after discovering that embarrassing bug. I really appreciate all of your feedback!

And thanks for letting us know about the bug, It should now be fixed in the new build.

I felt an obligation to check this out just because of the name. That being said, the mechanic is super cool and the artwork is nice. Good stuff!
