banger game

Definitely a lot of ambition here. Trying to make a game of this scope in a game jam is difficult.

My number 1 suggestion would be to try to improve the left click attack. I was able to kill some enemies with it but it was very difficult to land the attack due to the animation being kinda wonky.

I really like the concept. Being the last one alive and being able to impart your words to unhuman like entities is a really bizarre and eerie thing. The song, sounds, and overall aesthetic also contributes to this feeling as well. Although I do think the stock image faces are a little goofy.

I think further work on this would involve adding more game mechanics and more individuality to each entity. You could add a system where entities could form relationships with each other based off various characteristics the player gives them. Also there is definitely an opportunity to leverage sentiment analysis on words/phrases given to the entities. Which you could then use to form a pseudo personality for them.

I really love the asesthetic and the implementation of the lidar like scanning. It felt responsive to press, like I always had good control over the player. I also really enjoy the sound design, it helps create an uneasy atmosphere. Like some others said, I think the main thing to work on would be making the monster more lethal/more intelligent.

I really like aesthetic of the hand drawn environments getting partially revealed. I also really liked how it fit with the theme. I also really enjoyed the sound effects. I feel like the meshed really well with the echo theme and helped create an uneasy feeling when exploring a new room.

Sometimes I feel it was annoying to try to find the back button in some rooms. Like I'd forget where it was and have to look for it again.
