Wow, what a polished game! Not sure if this creates the most engaging gameplay but the spookiness is real.

Nice and fun card adventure! I really like the simplistic presentation. I wish there is an interesting twist on the gameplay though.

P.S. Guys yall should try out the secret second control it's so powerful that it can erase all the opponents instantly and then summon the secret final boss and then also obliterate them and then you summon a free 10/10 and then you rip through the board

I also can't help noticing that some levels seem to be intended for the frog to precisely land on the goal tile instead of just sliding by to beat, is this maybe an oversight?

Added a post jam patch, but this remains true - please cd the game directory first. If there are any further bugs, please feel free to point them out!

I think the issue is - for macos, you must run the game executable directly from within the game directory. 


As in: 

  • unzip the-underworlder-macos.gz
  • cd libtcod-vcpkg-template-v0.0-3-gc8feb98-macos.arm64
  • chmod +x ./the-underworlder
  • ./the-underworlder

The visual effects are amazing! The 3D environment is super cool as well! I could totally see how chaotic and fun if you were to put more enemies, spells and mechanics in. I would personally like to see some more original gameplay ideas perhaps

The concept is pretty interesting but I'd say it suits more as a "micro"game. And I'm not sure if this is the intention but the main interactions feel a bit rough - no undoing the last attempt, hardly any controls over the "curveness", the sketchpad doesn't recognize smaller curve changes etc. At least it's funny to look back at the monstrosity I created afterwards haha

i might be a bit too dumb to figure this pokemon combat out lol, are you supposed to just spam basic casts because they seem to have the highest damage to mana ratio?

the art is really awesome though! also got the examiners judgement bug at the second fight unfortunately

wow, this is the most creative game i’ve played! customizing spell build is a very fun idea (and reminds me of noita), and the component makes the balancing super interesting! however, i cheesed everything with a negative mana cost build hahaha

the best gameplay so far! the spell casting mechanics is very well balanced and requires good management, and the difficulty is on point as well. and a tip for lv3 - cast spells at yourself when enemies are surrounding you to get the full effect of the aoes

i might have found an exploit lol

otherwise, super cozy game where the aesthetics and music fit with the atmosphere! the gameplay has a few bugs, but i can definitely see how one might expand on this concept~

Hi! I tried to import the project in godot, but it says “invalid .zip project file; it doesnt contain a project.godot file”, so maybe you need to also provide that as well?

im not sure if im just too dumb but i assume the game is unfinished at the guide level? the music is pretty classic, and the title art was well-crafted as well. i would be curious to see a complete version for sure!

Super fun vampire survivor-like! i definitely love the initial magic and its special the most lol, randomly draw a trail and i can cast “fuck everything in that direction”. i cleared the game with 30% hp left, and the game loop is so fun!

also, i would be interested to see some more roguelite elements perhaps if version 2 was ever to come - random levels, buffs and enemies - and you will get a fire game for sure!

damn the art is PHONOMENAL! i would also never dream about making an RPG in a game jam, but all the game flow feels super cozy and sweet~ although i am personally expecting an interesting twist at the ending haha

thanks for the good advice! also forgot to mention: “1” sets your checkpoint backwards by one and “2” sets your checkpoint forwards in case you got stuck. too classic of me to spend 70% of the jam time on the main mechanics and then proceed to not polish the game

what an atmospheric game! alchemy is as hard as i remembered it from chemistry…

Very cool theme and environment! (all those faces on the ground lol) Got through the final room with one life to spare so it felt quite intensive as well. Would like to see some more twists or gimmicks though.

That’s a super polished and content-packed platformer! I just keep wanting to play more of it. Every detail and corner is brimmed with decoration and attention. The level design is fantastic for the time frame also. I even want to challenge higher difficulty levels too. Could also imagine this being very fun to speedrun through like Celeste!

A very cozy and sweet RPG demo overall, also love the Animal Crossing vibes! The visuals are also gorgeous especially with those cute fireflies(?)

Very fun and complete game! Chucking enemy projectiles back at them was honestly very satisfying. Run through the game twice just to check the ending lol

Extremely impressive! The visuals are super stunning as well! I found a few softlocks so maybe adding a restart button could help, but it's honestly hard to nitpick too much

Very fun game! Reminded me of There is no game, and definitely Terraria with that final boss. The effect before the boss encounter was sooo cool
