🍎 How to Play Lost Lagoon on macOS
Lost Lagoon needs a little workaround to get started on macOS. Luckily, there is a reliable community tool that allows you to run the game smoothly on Mac without manual porting.
⚠️ Important: This tool is developed and maintained by a third party. You use it at your own risk. I cannot guarantee full compatibility or stability on every macOS system.
✅ What You Need
Please download the RPG Maker MacOS Launcher here:
This tool allows macOS users to play most RPG Maker games (MV, MZ, XP, VX, VX Ace, 2000, 2003) natively, without modifying the game itself.
⚒️ What This Tool Does (Short Explanation)
Behind the scenes, the launcher automatically:
- Downloads the required runtimes (NWJS, MKXP-Z, EasyRPG)
- Detects which RPG Maker version the game uses
- Unpacks
game_en.exeif it exists - Links the correct runtime to the game folder
- Launches the game on macOS
You don’t need to do any of this manually.
▶️ How to Start Lost Lagoon (MV / MZ Games)
- Open RPG Maker MacOS Launcher
- Click “Install NWJS Version” → This downloads the runtime required for RPG Maker MZ
- Click “Select Game Folder” → Choose the folder where Lost Lagoon is located
- (Optional) Additional options:
- Extract game_en.exe → Only needed if the game is packed
- Add Cheat Menu → Opens with key [1] in-game (may cause major errors)
- Optimize Space → Removes Windows-only files
- Disable Protection → Advanced users only
- Click “Start Game” → The game should now launch normally
- (Optional) Click “Export as Standalone App” → Creates a macOS app so you don’t need the launcher again
💾 Save Files & Editor
- Click “Open Save Editor” to:
- Open the save folder
- Access an online save editor (advanced use)
⚠️ Important Notes
- Do not run the game from the Downloads folder
- If macOS blocks the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Allow Anyway
❓ Having Issues?
If the game doesn’t start or behaves oddly:
- Make sure NWJS is installed via the launcher
- Double-check you selected the correct game folder
- Try exporting the game as a standalone app
If problems persist, feel free to report them so I can help.
Enjoy Lost Lagoon on macOS, and thank you for your support!
